A tool to simplify reporting dodgy servers
skyline-gtr replied to Gruso (DayZ)'s topic in Server Advertisement
I am asking a relevant question about the topic of the thread. Is there any actual point to this "tool" ? Also why is the thread title misleading ? -

I meant what is the point in this tool ? Also it is advertised as a simplification when it does not do that. -

So what is the point ? -
The new logout system is bad. Very, very bad.

Yes its different in behaviour while the cause remains the same. Being in alpha is not a cause, possibly a reason. -

The cause of the issue is the same. -

Are you suggesting that you were not exaggerating in your OP at some points ? -

Maybe you misunderstand the issue is the server stability. -
There is clearly a reasonable discussion about priorities here, Server stability vs Disconnection penalties. Really if you have nothing constructive to say then please. There is no need to question the validity of one specific case or the way in which the OP was written,

I dont know about you but I dont remember any URLs. I do use a bookmark url for my email that I dont need to log in to. I can bring this up in the steam overlay browser without leaving the game. You have to type up the report manually in either case. -
If you have addressed the issue and expressed the view then thanks. please stop arguing over a side issue.

There is a thead about this, perhaps you want to join the discussion as to why they implemented the penalty before stablising the servers. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/171844-talk-about-priorities/ -
You guys are being really mean. You are hijacking the OPs discussion thread about the Order in which things were done. Sidetracked by whether it is server or client problem.

That is simply my interpretation. It is nothing personal. Not intended to cause offence. I simply address each of your main points and give my view on that. Now if you would like a dynamic discussion, I suggest you put aside your defensive attitude and present a reasonable, on topic response. -

What data does the user have to input ? -

Also i7 here, and fibre optic broadband. There is deineftly an issue with the servers in my experience.

I might suggest that this is a discussion about priorities. There is no troubleshooting that could solve a server side issue.

Please address the topic from the OP and stop arguing. Here I can sum it up, and my sum up has been agreed with the OP. "To be fair, I think OP has a valid point. At least in my experience... Servers are quite delicate and by that I mean they are having issues. My internet is fibre optic and very stable, I never have any disconnects on my end. Now he seems to be suggesting that before you implement a system to punish disconnection, it may have been more fair to stabalise the servers. Not asking you to agree or disagree, but I hope you can see its a reasonable point to be making."

Premium loot -- A balanced proposal to "gearing up"

"Generally speaking, my problem is that gearing up is too exploitable, which in turn leads to gearing up too quickly, which in turn causes the game to become too easy for some, which in turn leads to boredom, which in turn leads to many people to turn to KOS to satiate said boredom (or to tire of the game entirely), which in turn negatively affects the gaming experience for other people who are not playing the KOS game." Basically your crying about KOS. I agree gearing up is exploitable. The timescale for gearing up im not clear on this. Could you present your idea of a reasonable amount of time it should take ? The game becomes to easy for some. Well the game is not to gear up. The game is to have fun. There are many ways to do this, but you need food and water otherwise you will die. If you are experiencing boredom while playing a game then perhaps you should turn it off. Killing on site, is going to happen in a sandbox game that has guns anyway. example GTA5, lots of content etc killing other people happens a lot. Being killed is a part of the game, its going to happen like above. If this ruins the game for you then maybe you should have done some research before buying it. All that being said, there is hopefully more content on the way, so your issue may be solved by that, but I highly doubt KoS is going to disapear, such is the nature of a sandbox game with guns. -
While is may be a valid point, it may not be practical. Im no programmer so any comment I make would be partly guess work.

How does this work ? -
Yes i hear about rain and its possibly disabled at this moment. I also heard about snow, which would require a complete new map to be drawn. This may or may not be implemented.
