haha DeathHTax, perhaps you missed the OP ??? "If you open Steam, go to your profile, go to friends list, and then "Recently played with". You will see, in good detail, who you have recently played with on DayZ."
-
You can find the server you were last on... Go to C:\Users<USERNAME>\Documents\DayZ , and open the '<STEAMPROFILENAME>.DayZProfile' file. (Use notepad) Scroll right down to the bottom, and you'll find this: http://i.imgur.com/AXdlUpe.png . Right there is your latest server that you joined, and its direct IP, incase you lost it and need to join remotely.

Premium loot -- A balanced proposal to "gearing up"

You could farm keys then server hop near the safe??? -
I reply to some of your main points... "it's the lack of the POSSIBILITY of an identity currently on the server" You may observe their actions. "it's the fact that there is no possibility of keeping track of the characteristics of the people who play on the server with you" You may write it down on paper or notepad "I'm saying I'd l think there should be SOME way of identifying people on the server" Please suggest something ??? "apart from watching them for an hour to study that specific persons character," You confuse character with characteristics I think.
-
Yeah, I can see it might create some issues for persons who agenda is real anonymity and also for those who might be engaging in activities which are not considered entirely ethical.
-
This is the relevant forum. Now kindly stop harrassing me, because there are plenty other topics that may be more relevant in a different forum but I dont see you trolling them.

That is your opinion and you are entitled to it. I suggest that if you do not like a topic, then simply leave. No need to be rude.

Growing number of banning servers/private servers.
skyline-gtr replied to chaossound's topic in Suggestions
"No, the rules should not be changed. No one is paying for a private server, because they don't exist. When one rents a server, one agrees to abide by the rules. For every admin that simply wants to play free of the threat of KoS (where is the fun in that?), there are another ten who want to loot farm their server with their merry band of circle jerking clan mates, then join public servers where they have an advantage in gear." -
I doubt that. As you are using privately owned servers.
-
How can they agree with that viewpoint when it is not a viewpoint but a statement. A statement is either true or false.

Its part of the Public Hive, the rules are reasonable. I agree with the OP, a forum section or pinned thread would help. -
There are many reports of Glitch death, ladders seems to be a common theme.
-
Love is present in the game mechanics, as the game is run mostly on human nature at this time.
-
Its possible to make less glitch death before increase penalty for death ?

1581 users are online (in the past 15 minutes)your beans was 10% of that figure. If its true what you say that "tells you all you need to know" then 90% dont agree. thats not even the total forum users, just last 15 minutes. Last time I checked there was 20,000 people in game. Makes your 100 beans rather insignificant now.

I found the clip from the movie "Full Metal Jacket", it shows how dangerous going after your buddy is in that situation. -

Generally when there is a Sniper, it is not a good idea to try to help a teammate that has been downed by the sniper. You can see a good example of this in a certain vietnam war film. To avoid this ambush in future would be very difficult, especially if the sniper is hidden in a bush surrounding the area. -
I am a complete coward in this game
skyline-gtr replied to PinguAlmighty's topic in New Player Discussion
When faced with a situation that is dangerous, potentially harmfull to your life. The human mind forms a choice between two reactions. Those are Fight or Flight. While some people may say that Fight is the only option to "be a man", this could be considered foolish in a lot of scenarios and may well end in death or worse. When given only two options and choosing the safer one does not make you a coward, it may in fact make you a good decision maker. -
Op Im not sure you know what a Bandit is. Since there is no rule of law in DayZ, there is no bandits.

Rewarding players for actually staying alive and surviving.
skyline-gtr replied to Slyguy65's topic in General Discussion
The OP is flawed beyond belief.. As of right now, you log into DayZ..... First things: Gotta survive, gotta find food/water, gotta interact carefully with environment/other players. This is brilliant imo, it is natural and human nature rules the roost. Implement the OP idea. You may still do the First things but people will also be doing: What skills do I want, Where can I go to boost. So you will see a dude aimlessly running up and down a hill to gain stamina or speed. You will see someone collecting lots of cooking items, finding a safe spot and sitting cooking with no aim other then to raise a skill. Maybe you now get an idea about how MMORPGs work when given this type of skill system. Not only that but to give similar rewards for time spent.... So player has done "first things", then have then sat boosting crafting skills, and running aimlessly to boost stamina/speed. They then decide, well I want all the other skills, so they go find a safe spot and wait until they have the other rewards. -
You seem to have missed the point.... What he said was a statement, not a viewpoint. Here I copy and paste for you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TripX7, on 07 Feb 2014 - 10:55 PM, said: In case you didnt read the entire thread. Many people disagree with that view point.

I could consider that but its not realistic, perhaps breaking apart does not happen in such a fashion that it allows you to read all the content.
