MOLLE or Modular Plate Carrier Vest

Adding some more chest carry items and have some variables associated with them for storage options. This can allow people to pick and choose what they'd like to have carried on them with up to 12 slots becoming available What I was thinking was we have pouches as a found item in addition to the Plate carrier vest itself. The vest with have no storage value when found but in combination with the pouches provide a slightly larger storage space than the pre-made tactical vests. Pouches would go like: Magazine Pouch - 1x2 Squares, Magazines and Ammo limitedMedical Pouch - 2x2 Squares, Only holds medical items or MedkitGeneral Purpose Storage Pouch - 2x2 Holds AnythingGun Holster - 2x2 Only Holds sidearms, same behavior as the chest Holster currentlySmall Item Storage Pouch - 1x1 Square, meant for radios normally but can hold a myriad of items. These would attach to the vest in a similar fashion as attachments to weapons. Keep in mind the slots being added would/could be fixed purpose making it so it doesn't really create a distinct advantage unless you have items to go into those slots. In addition, the pouches could come in a myriad of camo patterns from Solid Black to Woodland or TTSK. This could make it so you have a hodge-podge appearance with this equipment on.

    Lee Enfiield

Well it was also the SMLE No.1 MK3 that was in the Mod, not the SMLE No.4 Admittedly it'd be extremely difficult to find ammo for this in eastern europe though unless it's the Ishapor Enfield SMLE No.1 - that version still in use by the army and police in India was re-bored to the Nato.308 (7.62x51). These are still fairly common to find as well but the british.303 versions are far more common.

Rifle Wraps for all Long Rifles

A rifle wrap for those that don't know, is a cloth or tape covering that goes over a rifle to obscure it's hard lines. Or even the color of the wood used. This is sometime that sniper adopted by snipers and hunters the world over to make it so they blend in better with their environment. During WW2 the russian snipers were known to do this with strips of their uniforms, or torn burlap. As seen with an example from Enemy at the Gates. While there are also modern examples going anywhere from cloth strands to ghili mesh. The basic example I'd like to see is more along the lines of the Burlap sacks wrapped around the rifle after being torn to strips. The method to do this in game could be to have multiple rags from torn clothing, or have the ability to tear up burlap sacks and then just drag those onto the weapon to treat it as an attachment on all long rifles. This will then just apply a new skin on the weapon as if it's been wrapped.

Handgun & Rifle which shoot the same ammunition

this could be done with a myriad of survival shotguns, and lever action rifles as well. The Russian military was quite fond of the Winchester Lever Action Rifle around the 1880's - I'm sure some of those lasted through to today. They also had a set of custom lever action rifles made to operate the 7.62x54R but only around 5,000 were made...So extremely rare rifle.

    PPSH-41

It's not a rifle. It was service weapon but most would be taken back post war due to the need to keep this on hand for future conflicts. The design is also stolen from the Fins and was recovered tech from the Russians losing the Winter War that little conflict is also where the Molotov cocktail came into existence as the Fins didn't have a good means of Anti-tank weaponry...what they did have is a lot of Vodka. the PPSH and it's variants were based on the Suomi M31 a Finnish Sub-machinegun designed for urban warfare.

    Give Medkit more slots

Why not have different versions of the medkit? Military Medkits, versus a Trauma Bag, versus the current "Basic" Home medic kit. Each of them of varying size and function. As it stands the current icon for one is pretty much a hard shell (nylon) home medkit, some people take those and stick them under the seat of their car for emergencies around the vehicle. But it comes with a lot of the stuff that'd be in an EMT's trauma bag.

    Gun Rarity [POLL]

M911 doesn't exist I think you mean M1911 which is just the Colt 1911 Platform, there are quite a few variations now both curios collectors pieces from WW1 and WW2, as well as modern versions. Honestly the modern ones are far more common than the collectors weapons. Calling them classic is exactly right, they're more classy than anything else.

Canteens, utility belts, and more (now with PICTURES!).

Well MOLLE and ALICE should be present, but we should also see the Russian tactical rigging, they have their versions of both as well. I'm just not as up on my research for Russian gear as I am for Nato gear. With a quick search this is all I found for a visual reference right away that made sense as to what we're looking at.

Canteens, utility belts, and more (now with PICTURES!).

What you're suggesting is the addition of ALICE gear, as a whole. It's along the same lines as what I've suggest for MOLLE gear. I agree with the sentiment. And I like the whole canteen setup which that's still used by Nato forces either using MOLLE or ALICE gear.

    Start with knife

I think if they added a single slot pocket knife that has a chance to become "Ruined" and is useless when opening things like cans would be okay to start with. Or have it degrade rapidly when opening cans with it. I personally carry a 3" pocket knife all the time. One of my co-workers called it a concealed weapon as I used it the other day to open boxes of new equipment. To me a pocket knife is a tool, not a weapon, so make it horrible for killing zeds and players with low damage but it'd be nice thing to have to begin with. On a side not. I used a pocket knife, a pair of pliers, and screw driver to open a russian ammo can with 7.62x54R ammo in it. So it's very possible to do while opening cans, just gotta be really careful and be precise with your actions. But I seriously need to get the special russian can opener for those damn things the next time I need one open.

Ammo Box - Easier Usage Idea

I personally don't think you should have an ammo box in that appearance or variety. Cause it's a .30 Cal US Ammo box which I can tell you right now is around 4 pounds of steel with nothing in it, and I have around 500 rounds of 8mm Mauser in one and it's closer to 40 pounds loaded so carrying one of those around even in a backpack isn't practical. and if the rounds are loose like I'd assume they are once you remove them from the box they're damn loud.

Can an M24 put into consideration beside the Mosin?

It's a platform that would arrive with the US Army as it's still a standard issues sniper platform along side the Barret M82 for the sniper Anti-material rifle. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M24_Sniper_Weapon_System Notably we'd see the M24A1 because the A2 and A3 varieties have reasonably rare ammo. As much as people are calling these uncommon, they're really not within the US Army and US Airforce for their actual company level use in ground troops. As it goes for overall Divisional Level deployment, you'll see far more DMR platforms like the M14EBR or the M110 for their rapid fire capability and the ease of using them at moderately closer ranges. Though I think we're more likely to see the civilian version, that being the R700. The biggest different between those is mounts and the long bolt pull applied to the M24 as a whole. though I don't think we need every weapon to have picatinny rails.

Rifle Wraps for all Long Rifles

Roy, you're fighting to keep this near the top more than anyone else. It's appreciated.

The ONLY 50 That Should Be Here

It fired an autocannon round (roughly 20mm I believe) used on light armor and fixed emplacement weaponry like anti-aircraft weaponry. It also had the capacity for a magazine in some variations. It proved effective against light armor targets and entrenched positions IE concrete bunkers and firing positions, but anytime it was used on PZ3 or PZ4 tanks it didn't have enough punch to go through anything but specific armor locations like the drop plates for view slots. It wasn't designed to be fixed with a scope so long range shots to hit those very small spots on moving targets lead to it's general ineffectiveness. And it really doesn't belong in this title.

    Mauser K98 Rifle

Looks like it has the raised rear sights so yeah that'd be a Gewehr 98, Pre-WW2 where all the rifles were standardized to the 98k standard other than the sniper platforms. Though I dislike in the OP's description that this weapon was used by Germany through WW1 and through WW2. Also millions of these weapons were gift to Isreal upon its inception as a country following WW2 with all german markings ground out. So there are a few varieties floating around. Not to mention the ones Mauser sold to other nations. Namely Spain, Argentina, and Brazil all making massive purchases in the early 1900's.

    Scope realism

Yup, the point is there and I completely agree we should have proper amplification is applied.

    Flintlock musket

Perhaps, but anything from 1890-1950 is mechanically simple and fairly easy to maintain with minimal proper maintenance. Specially military rifles as the ones in WW1 were designed to survive some of the worst conditions imaginable.

    Scope realism

I love that you took a screenshot to show the correct implementation from Red Orchestra 2. But you didn't want to compare DayZ PU Scope to RO2 PU Scope?

    Flintlock musket

A modern Muzzle loader is very different than a Flintlock rifle... It's done in a modern fashion, and the overall mechanics behave more like a 12 Inch gun from a WW1 or WW2 battleship with pre-made primer and powder packets than with making your own powder and figuring out the correct amount so you don't blow the barrel apart. And quite honestly...No. It may be used in an apocalyptic scenario but that'd be after all other options have been exhausted. Even so a crossbow is a more viable weapon with modern means and it's easier to produce new ammunition for that than it would be for any sort of firearm.

    Severe weather causing visibility issues

I think that looks fine as is. Forces you to play in first person where I haven't encountered this issue or take shelter in the nasty weather. Though I don't think 3rd person should exist at all anyhow

    Whole map

That's what my friends actually do, though mostly they keep it up as easy reference on a second monitor. Hell I could personally have my laptop setup and do the same thing but I tend to like to use the tools provided in a title. I agree, I've only ever found half the map at any given point. Then I'm typically killed by another player as I am meandering in and out of urban areas. True, less likely to find one in a car nowadays. But I also know I can pick one up at the local super market and that's not exactly an item that'll fly off the shelves in an apocolypse. I can also go to nearby bookstores...truck stops...and a myriad of other locations to pick up maps. It's not like a maps location is exclusive to the glovebox or under the seat in a car. I personally agree that we should still have the map pieces, but that should be represented in the damage states. Ruined Map is just 1 sector, NW, NE, SW, SE Damaged is half the map, North or South, East or West Worn is 3ths the map - and it can be missing a sector Pristine is a perfect map, no missing sections. Edit: Along that same line, maps can be repaired by using various versions of this setup. So you can take 2 ruined pieces that share a common edge to make a Damaged Map, then Add another Sector to make a Worn map, and complete it the same can be said that if you have a Worn Map, and a Damaged map that has the other half they can be put together to make a Pristine Map.

Using the "butt" of guns for Melee (or bayonets)

Depends on the weapon. the M4 or most modern firearms are not designed to be used explicitly as a melee weapon without a bayonet to be a thrusting weapon. While you take weapons like the Mosin Nagant or most WW1 through Early coldwar name into the 1950's designs like the SKS or M14. Those were meant to have the stock used to bash in heads or more specifically Helmets. I can tell you from experience of owning quite a few WW1 and WW2 rifles that the brass or steel buttplates on those weapons is a highly effective melee weapon. Not to mention for my Mosin I have the 2 foot long steel spike bayonet and that'd be a very very effective thrusting weapon given the opportunity.

    SKS Attachments

If thats the case, depending on the factory version of the SKS you recieve it'll only have the muzzle loaded grenade launcher, and Bayonet attachments. Because soviet weapons during that era didn't have modern attachpoints for equipment, not in the terms you're refering to today. It'd require some pretty good customization and machine work into the receiver to create those attachpoints and if done incorrectly you'll need additional custom fittings to make sure the scope can be calibrated correctly to be accurate. Now this is for any scope you look to add to the weapon. Long range or otherwise.

Military Gear lootspawns need immense reductions

I'm just curious how you intend to have the current user base act as a test bed without interacting with the objects? This is an early access alpha and they're certainly doing some pretty heavy logging behind the scenes tracking our movement, equipment, player states, and so on. With no one able to find the current and extremely limited equipment how are we supposed to be "testing" it? I don't disagree with the sentiment when we're near the final ship state to work out the spawn balance in all the equipment, but as of now I think it's an alright situation to leave spawns as is so players can acquire and use the equipment as they see fit to judge the player behavior and interaction within both PvP and PvE. As the PvE evolves we'll need to see more of these adjustments made across the melee and firearm weapons available to the use to ensure that nothing gets relegated to the defination of "useless" like many of the current melee weapons are. This is the way they can collect metrics on the usage data and make sure updates are done for balance purposes later.
