Thanks for the info! I have put a little time into the training on ARMA, so I am getting some of it down.....but not a lot...like how do I check my inventory? no keystroke seems to work.. I do think that this is probably a very cool game, once you figure it out, and as I am recovering from hip replacement surgery, I will have a few weeks to check it out. As far as vanilla servers go, what am I looking for? seems everything I see is epoch, or panthera I really appreciate you getting back to me. I am looking forward to actually getting into the thick of it!

I am new to this mod, as well as ARMA, so I am completely lost, confused, and frikkin bored already. Other than walking, running, looking about, and getting beaten to death, I cannot make anything work. I cannot even hit a zombie with my fist, as I cannot find the controls. I cannot access my inventory, not knowing what key(s) to hit, and I do not seem to do anything other than half-ass throw a flare! While a very cool looking game, it seems to me a simpler control interface would make it far more fun, and less like a jig-saw puzzle missing half its pieces.... Looking at the control settings is totally a mess...as nearly everything has multiple key-bindings, none at all, or are not even listed! Right now, I am glad this has cost me nearly nothing...is the standalone any better, or is it the same unfriendly controll interface? Most of the how-to videos I look at assume I know what I am doing in the first place... Does a REAL guide for REAL BEGINNERS exist? PS....what is this "you have my beans" all about?

hello folks! I am Olblindman....a handle I have used since the early days of COD, simply because I play like an old blind man compared to most younger, faster, and talented players in any shooting game I own! I go by OBM for short. I am brand spanking new to BOTH ARMA and this cool mod, which really leaves me way behind!

I got the game thru Humble bundle also,and had issues. I used Dayzcommander to update the game itself, then added every mod I could. I connect thru commander also. I still can't "PLAY" the game, as in I do not have a clue in what I am doing, but I can join servers, and get eaten by zombies very well. This game apparently has a rather large learning curve, and not being too familiar with ARMA is also a hindering factor.

I too, got this mod with Humble-Bundle, and experienced all sorts of headaches, but managed to update thru Dayzcommander and was up and running....BUT, now if i try to play ARMA ll OA.......it opens up to DAYZ. I thought I saw someone else mention this, but cannot seem to find it now. I can play DAYZ, meaning I can join into a server, walk around, then get destroyed by some zombie, all in 3 minutes time, usually. Seems as though that I start with a new character every time I switch servers, and I haven't a clue to the keyboard controls (NEW to ARMA series, also). I'll take any help I can get.....love the concept, but I cannot play worth a hoot! Thanks, Olblindman (OBM, for short)
