i would really like to see good binoculars in the game... nvg are ok but should be extremly rare. i dont really see the need for gps, compass and map is all you need... Skyline-GTRs arguement sounds valid... but im no expert on how long those things could correctly operate without communication from a ground station... if it really is a world wide epidemic those sattelites would be useless... if its only local on the other hand... but hey like a said, gps isnt really needed imo.

i say yes, also for stuff like knifes. but they also need to add a time difference it takes to get an item out of backpack or holster. you cant get a weapon out of a big backpack while walking in the same to you get it out of your holster.

i like the idea of non lethal weapons to stop someone, tho tazers dont fit in the setting imo... any other ideas?

well but i would also use medical stuff twice if i could clean it with alcohol in those conditions... so no real arguement. i also never saw a medipack in my life containing empty blood bags, iv starter kits or water purification tablets ;) those usually only contain different forms of bandages, scissors, tape. So i see no harm in including blood test kits as well from time to time. but at the moment it is fixed whats included i guess. well its still a game in the end and it would be really annoying to find this equipment only in hospitals or doctors offices...

well this are no real life condition. Hospitals, doctors use stuff only once... but this is an end of world szenario with limited supplies. in real life i wouldnt eat a banana or a damaged can of beans lying arround in a abandond factory ;) but im no export for those tests, i dont even know my real bloodtype. if its really a only one use item, which i guess because of chemicals and other stuff inside, it shouldnt be possible in the game... just let them spawn a little more often and everythings fine or make them spawn as double set. btw, blood expires fast if its no cooled correctly. i think it says this even in the game, does this have a affect allready or can i supply blood that has been lying arround in my backpack for days next to all the other crap :D

i think they patched saline bags allready, gave two to a friend yesterday (not prestine, worn + Damaged) and his vision was still very grey. I like the idea of th compatibility table on the back and i also think they should be "a bit" more common....

It would be good if some settings were forced and if you tinker with manual config are not allowed to join certain servers(hardcore) for example. Its just a huge advantage over players that dont exploit these settings and this ruins the game a bit...

Hey, i gues its only a temporary thing but at the moment the only way to trade is dropping stuff. But atm not always does that stuff appear right away, sometimes it takes minutes, sometimes i wont appear again at all, This is really annoying... My guess is its a server problem that may be get sorted out in the future, but the possibility to take things in your hand to give them a player directly would be a nice addition. i dont think a whole trading system is necessary (with left and right side, players add their stuff, both have to accept) , but what do you think?

i hope they add those soon, but i guess it should be bow+quiver or Rifle-/Melee-Weapon, have Rife, Axe and bow is to much.. and also make a craftable version that you can "easily" obtain after you spawn. It shouldnt be a great pvp weapon but enough to hunt and defend yourself. Crossbow, atleast the one in the picture posted should be really rare.... i really hope they add more of theese craftable weapons and all military grade weapons become ultra rare... at the moment its a bit boring to see everyone with full military gear running arround. it leads to more kos with no looting... i want more player interactions, trading and so on. Not everyone running arround with the same top notch stuff.

i like the idea of aiming while running, sure it will be inaccurate as hell but it may still stop one from chasing you. What really needs to be changed is the time it takes to get your pistol out of different clothes. - If you have it in your backback you should have to stop and get it out, takes longer - Pants, Jacket, Vest you can get it out while moving and its faster - Chest-Holster you can imidiatly pull your gun if you have nothing in your hands, even while running the time it takes to get other stuff out of your containers should change as well... for example ammo, if you reload your gun with bullets out of the backpack you have to stop/slow down and it takes a long time, if you have them in your pants it should be way faster... -
well i like the idea... but it should only be craftable and atleast one item has to be super rare (explosives), nothing that can be found in 3 hours after you spawn. Would be a nice suprise for bandits :) and if its something that is not clearly visible to others it could also be a way to get out of situations... and btw, this is a game where you can snipe innocent people, axe them or even sadisticly torture them... you can do and will do a lot more worse things in the game than wearing a bomb vest... sure it will be used for suciding or even force someone to wear it but it would also be a good life insurance.

Well i heard hunting is a planned feature and i really like the idea of gathering your own food from time to time than looting houses for old canned goods. much more survival feeling and it keeps you occupied with other things than killing people :) Anyway, i would also like to see the posibility to fish... there is a huge sea and several lakes in the game. just add a fishing rod and the possiblity to catch fishes to cook, roast, conserve and so on.

had the same idea yesterday... i had several situation where i was screwed because of a restart i didnt see coming. i once lost my whole backpack. This is very frustrating, i really dont mind if i get killed and loosing everything. its part of the game, but loosing almost everything because of a restart is just annoying. i hope the implement this fast, and i know the restart is just a workarround until zombie/loot respawn is implemented.. Im really looking forward to the day where i can leave notes and other stuff for players to find ;)

Well a few days ago i practiced sniping a little bit, was on a hill near the factory (polana) and shot the Zombies in the area. After the first shot with the mosin 3 of those guys were running up the hill to get me.

well if you have a nvidia mobile gpu it should be playable, how well i dont know, havent used notebooks for gaming in a long time. Go for the bootcamp solution imo, it will save a lot of time "fixing" the game on osx and will definatly run better.. PS: there a no plans for a native linux/osx version i guess?

how could you break it while trying to run it? well it seems to work on wine: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=29534 which should also run on macs, i never used parrallels... But keep in mind... it will never run as good as on a native Windows installation (Bootcamp). And the setup wont be easy either... What kind of mac do you have? The Hardware of modern macs should be enough (modern i5 CPU) if it also has a dedicated GPU... I doubt the game runs anywhere playable on a intel integrated gpu.

this is good, but then they have to spawn more burlapsacks, ropes and sticks, or atleast allow the player to gether last one with an axe. At the moment its way easier to find a small or even big backpack than all those parts... i really love big backpacks cause if i find something thats rare i always want to take it with me, even if i cant use it ;) plan to give to to friends. this stuff alone takes up atleast 10 spaces in my backpack :D i hope they add something like a messenger bag, it takes 2 slots in inventory when your not wearing it, but if you wear it, it gives you six or something like that. Ideal to carry some stuff for others. -

did the hunting backpack got extremely rare after the last stable patch? used to find them here and there but after the patch i only find the big ones... tho i have to admit i didnt check many military sites yet... -

i think 30 seconds is fair... if you log out in a forest for example the chance are very low for someone to meet you there, if you log out in a big town or military site, its your own fault if you die after logging out there. Log out should be like rest/camp, you wouldnt do it in a city populated with zombies and other players and you wouldnt even think about doing it in a military base where other players appear all the time. I would even go a step further and would add no logout zones (military bases for example), i got shot twice by someone who shot me in the back after leaving a building that i just turned inside out. -

i think they should add "no logout" areas aswell. logout should be something like pulling out your sleepingbag and rest, no one should be doing this in a frequently visited site like an military base.its just damn frustrating to get shot in the back by someone who just logged on behind you... happend to me one or two times, scouted the ne airstrip, its dark. went it to grab loot and got shot in the back while leaving the building i just turned inside out... i know the new patch will reduce this a lot but it can still happen. -
I just had the idea that it would really benifit a survival game if there were more chance to hurt yourself, not just by jumping down hights or using ladders ;) Anyway what i have in mind is something like this. For example you try to open a can of beans with your huge kitchen knife, axe or the baynote on your weapon. Besides spilling some of the food it should also have a risk of hurting your self, cutting your hand for example so you have a bleeding wound and have to apply a banage. Another thing would be damaged ammunition or weapons, fireing those should also have a chance of some kind of backfire or exploding barrel. it would hurt the weapon and also yourself quite a bit. There are lots of other elements, any more ideas? Another great addition would be a way to destroy, damage items (with hammer, knife or something like that). For example, you are a bandit and just robbed a guy, he has weapons but you dont need them. you just took his ammo box that you searched for a long time. Anyway your are not a mean guy and want to let him go, but you also dont want him to take out his magnum after you uncuff him. What is the solution? Destroy or damage his gun that it would be a huge risk for him to use it or it wont work anyway. (i know you could just remove his ammo but you dont always have the space for this). Just use a knife or hammer on the thing and be sure that he wont shoot your head after you move on. I should be possible to fix those damages again too. If you are a mean guy it would be nice to poison water bottles or ruin bandages and stuff like that. Well there are tons of idea for good role playing ;)

I also think that loot spawn should change a bit... but well its an early alpha so i dont mean do it now but play arround until beta is reached. Military Loot should mainly spawn at military sites, but the outbreak did allready happen so you should also find it (very rare) at other places where a surviver died.. but in general military stuff should be very very rare, at the moment almost everyone runs arround with an m4 if he played a few hours... The same goes for other weapons, pistols should mainly spawn at locations where they belong (Police Station for example) but the should also appear on other locations from time to time. It shouldnt be that easy to find a weapon because they are rare, especially ones in good shape. but players who look at "hidden" places (like lonley house in forest) should be more rewarded for exploring the map as well. When i started with the standalone i always went for such places and was always disappointed.. When they add more civilian weapons to the game those should also spawn more in smaller villages, hunting homes or barns. I think those weapons dont belong in big citys, firestations or policestations.... dont get me wrong, not every small villages should be filles with shotguns but the should be more common there than in the big cities. Its survival, big cities should mean many zombies but also good left behind loot.... survivors went to smaller towns, remote house to survive, places that werent much populated, so you should find good loot at those places from time to time too. reward the player for discovering and searching. It should be possible to get good equipment (not military style) without going to the airfields and big cities. Yes it should be harder but not impossible. When im playing alone i avoid most hotspots and walk arround the rural area, i only found one weapon (mosin in barn after last patch) in those places yet, and believe me i looted alot of farms and small villages. No pistol, shutgun or anything... this has to be adjusted
