    Purifying Sea/Lake Water

    Would be nice to have this added to the game. I like the idea of placing this kind of purifying pot somewhere and to come back after an hour to collect the water.
  3. I disagree. Main focus should be on real stable servers. 10.000 infected + 200 players. (Or even more.) My opinion.

    Fractures and wooden sticks

    It would be nice if you could finally chop some sticks from the trees. I don't think it should be that difficult to add this to the game. Is it high priority? Actually not, but due to the fact that you break your legs pretty often (different reasons that are not fighting reasons), I think it should be high priority.

    What clothing set/weapons would you add if you could?

    I'd like to see any kind of roleplay clothing like a priests robe, doctors/nurse clothing, tuxedo, mechanics overall (blue, orange), firefighter uniform, police uniform, scouts clothing, different kind of civillian hunter dresses. Weapons I'd like to see... all kind of craftable weapons. Slingshots and bows mostly. The Nota-Cola-Bola. (Can be thrown around neck or legs of your victim once throwing is in place.) Rope + Nota Cola + Nota Cola = Nota-Cola-Bola (works with Kvas and Spite also)
  6. Let's face the fact, currently there isn't that much to do ingame. Simple fact due to the current version in development. But instead of complaining about this on the forums I would suggest you (OP) put the game aside until July or August 2014. When you come back, you will probably be positive surprised. At least I am confident that until August there will be way way more content which makes it more the survival game it's supposed to be. As someone said before as a reply to this post, the note on steam was about serious issues etc. Let them developers work on real stable servers... once this hurdle has been taken, there will be content over content added.

    Sorry if I came along rough with the 2nd post. Obviously I got you wrong. No offense. Back to topic: How about the possibility to lose needles rather than damaging them and spending yarn/sewing thread? @ Valadain Thanks for the explanation.

    What is wrong with the word 'yarn'? Looked it up on the dictionary as I am not a native english speaker. Isn't it the same as 'sewing thread'? But please... not another 'terminology thread'...

    Realism & Terminology in DayZ

    Even though I've tried to figure out the difference between a clip and a magazine, I have to admit I do not really understand it. Yes, I have fired some weapons in real life before but to me it is the same by means of functionality. Both, a clip or a magazin, give me the opportunity to increase the rate of fire without reloading the weapon manually. At least this is my understanding. If it is in line with the proper definition... I don't care. Sorry to say that but to me you come a long as a wise guy. This is nit-picking/bean counting to me. For all I care he could ask for a bottle of bullets... as long as I understand what he wants, I don't give a damn if that is the correct terminology. Edit: Looked up again on the internet as I wanted to understand better. A clip is just a device that helps me to reload the weapon faster, while a magazine holds the bullets. Is that right? Anyway... as long as I understand what the asking person wants from me, I don't care in this specific case.

    Not flaming you but I just don't understand how you damage a needle by... sewing? :blink: There are just some things that do not get damaged, no matter how many hundred times they have been used. Forks for examples. Spending the yarn sounds ok to me.

    I thought once they add the throwing option and physics stuff it would be possible to hit a flying object with a melee. Really hope it will work. Beansball would be great!

  14. How about adding a watermark to the graffiti that is not visible to other players and the option to report? So if you see a graffiti with racist comments, report it and hopefully the writer gets banned for putting something stupid like 'I hate ni*****'. But the question is, where would the line be drawed at what is supposed to be reported and what isn't?

    More ropes and sacks.

    It should be possible to take away the laces from shoes, boots and hoodies in order to craft a rope. 6 laces = 1 rope (Shoes/boots without laces would get useless or have a higher chance to get lost if you're running or walking through water/swamps.) Laces should be stackable. Sacks should be craftable also. Tear a clothing into rags, use a sewing kit on 2 or 4 rags = 1 sack. All of these items (laces, sewing kit, clothes) should be available in nearly every house (maybe not all of them together in one building). So when I roam the coast, I'd love to have the first improvised backpack (12 slots) after looting 5-8 buildings at the latest. I'd love to see these items craftable. I am not into bondage, so I don't have any ropes at home but I have enough shoes and hoodies to take the laces from.

    Thanks for your feedback so far. You just have to face the fact that not every player is into pvp and/or kos. So deal with it if all your innocent victims will leave the public stage and keep playing on private servers. If any will ever added. I'm confident they will be added and I'm looking forward to. This is nonsense as there is no right way to approach people. Those, who want to kill you, will do so anyway. No matter whether you run into them, stand around somewhere (not even looking at the killer) or simply crawl on the street cause you have broken legs. If their intention is to kill you for fun (not for gear or food), they will do so. No matter how many times you try to approach 'right', be assured they will kill you without a warning if that's their kind of gameplay. If you hint to my statement regarding roleplay or testing weapons you should keep in mind that gaming, roleplay and alphatesting are three complete different worlds. (At least in my opinion.) I am absolutely fine with pvp. But I am not fine with killing on sight. If you just want to press your left mousebutton and see someone die, why don't you play Moorhuhn? This is nonsense as well. Not every armed person is dangerous. Might be dangerous, of course. From just having a look at players gear you can absolutely not deduce their intentions. Or do you think everybody, carrying a defibrilator is a medic and going to heal/revive only? Everyone holding a rifle is a killer? Come on... that kind of explanation is way too cheap. At least we agree with that point :) Sorry for calling some or your answers nonsense. No intention to fight you but just my opinon, as explained with each quote. If you like, we can take this discussion between you and me to P.M. So we don't bother other guys. Cheers.
  18. Tested on experimental server. Sorry if this has been reported before, didn't read everything in this post. If you jump off the roof of the police station (the building with the circular stairs) and land ON the police car in front of it, your toon does not take any damage from falling. Maybe this works also with other buildings and obstacles like trash containers or other vehicles. Tried 6 or 7 jumps, never took any damage. With jump, I don't mean pressing the 'V-Button' but just running off the roof.

    It is astonishing how the OP gets flamed for sharing his opinion and telling he is leaving. From one point I can totally understand his frustration. It is simply a total pain in the a' when you try to test some things (on the experimental servers) and you get killed on sight. But I guess it easier to flame somebody out of the anonymity on the internet than trying to understand whether what he says might really be an issue, eh? If the alpha release was made to test and give feedback, I would appreciate if you could at least do so on the experimental servers without getting disturbed. Thus I'd appreciate a 'punish button' on the experimental servers for the time this game is in alpha. You get killed, press the button and your killer will be dead. Your dead body will be revived with the same health condition and gear it was before getting killed. Lame? No, not if your intention is to test and to give feedback to the dev team. Lame is to shoot on freshspawns because of 'shooting practice' or any other lame excuse for this behaviour. If you want to test rifles and guns and you get shot, you do this on purpose and simply don't press the 'punish button'. Anyone else who bothers you on the experimental servers will regret what they did as they just got 'punished'. When I read on Steam about this game which said for example 'don't buy it unless you want to get involved in the development' (by means of giving feedback and to test mechanics, not by means of being part of the dev-team), I thought it would be a great chance to see an upcoming game where you can probably help to spot bugs, exploits, balance issues etc. When I downloaded this game my intention was to test and to give feedback. Unfortunately this is not really possible. Or only if you teamed up and get covered. But this shouldn't be the focus in the alpha I think. While this game is in alpha (in my opinion we are supposed to test and to give feedback, not to play this game!) everyone should have the option to do so without getting disturbed by KOS. (Experimental servers only.) I've said this in a different topic already, KOS is (from my point of view) absolutely not part of roleplay. Roleplay and PvP, yes! Of course. But in roleplay your intention is to interact with other players. This is simply impossible when you get attacked on sight. Thus, RP and KOS no. RP and PvP, yes! Should KOS be possible when the game is released? Of course. Once there are private servers those players, who don't want to do KOS and want to avoid being KOS, can easily join there and are somewhat save. For the time being, with reference to the players who want to give feedback without getting disturbed by KOS, I'd appreciate the punish button (or any other way) on the experimental servers ONLY (and just for the time of alpha). I personally believe, that this game could have had way more patches, bugfixes, feedback given etc. if the option to KOS on the experimental servers were restricted. I teamed up with some guys on the experimental as we wanted to test what was added there and to give feedback to the dev-team. Unfortunately this is not possible as you get killed all the time and these people simply make it impossible to get involved by means of testing and giving feedback. I do not think I have to explain that what I've written above is not supposed to be a 'cry' post since some of you guys will flame me for this anyway but I hope the dev-team will see this and consider a mechanic that will allow players who want to test and give feedback to do so in the future without careing every second about a player who might kill you. Again, KOS is fine with the final release or maybe beta, but for time of alpha there should be a way to avoid it at least on the experimental servers. Otherwise the dev-team will get less feedback from the community which leads to delay in bugfixing and development. Furthermore evey delay in developing your game will cause more and more costs to this company. Simple fact.

    Have you/have you not seen a hacker?

    I am a teleporter to people I grouped up with... well sometimes. This happens on regular and experimental servers to me/others every now and then. When I am on teamspeak with some guys and meet ingame with them, sometimes they ask me 'How did you do that?'. A question I can not answere at all... While, on my screen, I am standing right behind other players, on their screens I seem to be invisible. Sometimes I pop up out of a sudden in front of or beside them, sometimes they see me running through buildings, fences, walls, cars, other players etc.. One day when someone asked me where I am, whereas on my screen I was standing in front of him 2m away, we tried to find out what would happen if I attack (boxing) him. I hit him twice. When I did the 1st hit, he did not see me but got punched by me. With the 2nd hit the game crashed on both of our ends. When I was 'invisible' to him and we tried the boxing, nobody of us had a connection issue warning (yellow or red symbol in the right bottom corner). After relogging onto the same server, I have spawned a couple of meters away from him (probably 50m away, behind some buildings) whereas he respawned at the location where I (invisble) punched him and where the game crashed. I just bought and downloaded the game/files that are provided officially. Apart from teamspeak and viewing a map on the internet, I am not using any other programs/tools that might affect the game. Furthermore I did not download any files from the internet and replaced them with files from the DayZ-, steam- or any other folder(s) on my computer. I guess this issue is known to the developers and being taking care of. So when some players blame those teleporting players for cheating/hacking, I think most of them might be wrong. This game is still in development and there are many known issues. In my opinion we are not really supposed to play this game at this time but to test what is added yet and to give feedback to the developer team. If we are supposed to 'play' at this time, then only for experimental purposes with an eye on servers/network issues. Since it is alpha I do not really care about hackers or annoying bugs at this time. I think the more we spot, the more gaps will be patched. Just don't blame everything being a hack or cheat just because it appears different as it is supposed to be.
  21. I agree and would like to see such 'natural disadvantages'. Maybe also being deaf or voiceless. But I would like these to be given automatically when you create your toon (no chosing option). Also there should always be a kind of medicine or tool (e.g. glasses) that makes you able to live with it if you just take care. I'd appreciate a system where toons are unique by means of not being perfect. If this is a survival game, there must be restrictions. May it be a class/skill system and/or your personal health. I don't want a toon, mastering everything.
  22. I've read on the internet, that pooping was already a confirmed animation. I honestly hope that peeing and pooping is something that will ONLY work in a bathroom where no other player can see what's going on. If you should be able to pee/poop on other players I would have to doubt Rocket's signature. But I am confident that they will add a mature solution to follow mother nature's calls.

    DayZ [SA] RP server- we need one!

    Official roleplay servers wouldn't work for different reasons. Most important reason in my opinion is that lots of players have different point of views on roleplay. Playing a 'murdering psycho' is something i would neither call roleplay nor would I want to play with such a player on the same RP server. Only exception for me would be if the psycho (out of character) agrees to miss the first shot purposefully so that the victim gets a warning but at least has a chance to run. I am sure, once there will be private and password protected servers, there will be roleplay servers ten a penny. Looking forward to it.
  24. Fortunately not, and the longer I read this forum, the more worried I get... Regarding ropes I'd rather see implementet that you need one in order to hang an axe (or which item ever) around your shoulder, instead of hanging somebody. Hanging people should never ever be added to the game. Same goes with setting people on fire. No way!
