In my experience, going to the coast to help fresh spawns is the only way to actually meet people. If you run into an airfield with an m4 equipped, or even with nothing, you get shot as soon as they spot you. Meet a bambi, offer them some food and drinks, help them get gear, talk along the way.. They're far more likely to not shoot you as soon as they pick up a gun. Occasionally they will still shoot, but that's a lower risk than just running into the barracks yelling friendly

Spray liberally with disinfectant and use epinephrine ;)

People are getting kicks out of feeding people rotten fruit and disinfectant. I'm not sure they're actually going to bat an eye at someone writhing on the floor screaming in agony. As long as they can still rummage through your backpack, you're still going to be on the ground screaming. Personally, I'd put them out of their misery unless they deserved to suffer

I never found a mosin in over 60 hours of play. Tons of m4s and handguns. Then yesterday I wandered into a random barn to log out only to find a mosin laying on the ground in pristine condition. An hour after giving a friend a LRS and all of my 7.62 ammo. Of all the luck...

Ok, I'm fine with the 30 second timer and all... Just have to be more careful when logging out. But what happens when you're say... Being chased by a zombie or in the middle of a firefight and your internet decides to take a shit on you? If my internet goes out, I'm already pissed. If my internet went out and I lost all my shit because of it, I'd probably throw my keyboard at my cat.

I stayed alive around 30 hours my last spawn before server going down while I was at the northeast airfield. Logged back on for a couple minutes to get myself somewhere safer for when I logged in to actually play, but got a bit greedy ad checked an ATC tower and took a sniper shot to the head. Started over and I'm at around 20 hours right now after running from Elektro to Berezino to the shipwreck and now I'm somewhere just outside the NW airfield after making a quick stealth loot run before work. Hoping Monday when I actually play again I can get to Cherno and not get shot

I think I had more luck punching a zombie to death than I did hitting it with a hammer, but whatever works for you ;)

I'm not sure I buy into a zombie hitting a backpack and ruining a magnum but I could see him messing up something like a saline bag or something in the process. Personally I'd go for them ripping a hole in your bag and junk falling out that you either have to leave behind and run or fight to get back

I will agree that (especially if this is like the Russian wilderness) that there should occasionally be rifle spawns in houses, especially those in rural areas. Seems like the former residents didn't ever hunt. But this is early into the game and more things are being added so I suggest just waiting

It's going to happen one way or another. I haven't dropped to that level yet. Earlier I found some guy running around a town with nothing but a fire extinguisher and after making him keep his distance for a bit, I decided he wasn't a threat and even offered him an extra magnum I had on me (which, of course, when dropped it fell through the floor >_< ) and offered to give him a bit of protection on the way to an airfield. I ran into a building and he disappeared on me. Met another guy with nothing and took him to an airfield when we ended up having our server go down. Took a break for a bit, came back logging in at the airfield and within 2 minutes I took a mosin shot to the head. So much for doing good deeds ;)
