Summary of dev Q&As from streams
Rudette replied to LaughingJack (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
You are welcome! <3 Edit: Though, iBane's list seems more comprehensive than the one I found! -
My Fireaxe. I forsee it being my favorite until we have stealthy knife kills or the machete becomes more useful. .. And of course, Chainsaws <.< Guns.. Guns are too quick.. You don't get to savor all the little..emotions. Ironically though, if I had to pick a gun it would be the Mosin. It's a personal favorite IRL.

Detailed Information Summary From Rocket's Eurogamer Live Stream

Beans on the forum are like the points in 'Who's Line'.. >.> But even so, take them, thanks for the info. Now we make more wildly inaccurate misinterpreted speculation! -
In the spirit of not starting new threads, using the search function, and whatever trite self-righteous garbage you are all used to having shoved down your throats by one another -takes a breath- Why don't we discuss the two potential features people put in bullet points from the Eurogramer interview with Rocket here rather than starting yet another KoS thread: *Blood on hands after looting a dead player is being considered. *Morality system being conisdered. Change player appearance based on past and/or present actions.

At the most, you might have to join a steam group or accept a friend request so that have a medium to invite you to a group with. Possibly ventrillo.

:o Soundboards are an interesting option. I approve >.>

It depends on what you're looking for! I have social anxiety, so I tend to run solo and my interactions are limited to creeping people out for lulz. >.> But there is a clan recruitment section, and though I can't tell you from personal experience, it's likely that most of them are legitimate. When I have grouped up with others in the past, I tended to like smaller clans/groups as opposed to giant massive clans where everyone is just part of a bland faceless amalgam. Smaller clans offer a more personal experience. If you do join a large clan, you could make yourself a small circle of friends to play with while in it. If you don't find what you are looking for, you can simply cut the strings and try another clan!

Cannibalism being considered is awesome. My trusty hacksaw, soon you will taste blood. Lootable chianti and fava beans must follow. -

Thanks <3 -
My useless beans. Have them. Forever.

You should find a group of like minded players to play with who understand your disability! I'm sure there is a clan or group out there who would be glad to have you.

DayZ Player Types: What do you bring to the community?
Rudette replied to THEBIGYADIG's topic in New Player Discussion
I think labels are silly, and the labels presented here are nothing new. Each playthrough is defined by a list of choices I make until I reach my inevitable demise. Not by you, not by your labels. -
Clientside zombies? No. That would be rather silly as you would see people shooting at what would essentially be thin air. This would provide even less incentive for people to work together. Clientside wild-life? Perhaps in early builds where the animals are present, but maybe not for the long run. This, however, would be something I could at least live with.

Everytime I find a hacksaw, I fondly dream of it. >.> We could start calling the Bambi's VEAL!

I see where you are coming from, but nothing in the mod was ever difficult enough. The risks you took were always small ones. Biggest threat to you were other players. What I want, what I'm talking about an environment made 98% HATRED and 2% Water. Surviving should be the most difficult part of this game. It should be a struggle. These hunger meters, thirst bars, wetness/dampness, cold/hypothermia, disease, illness, finding medical loot, vehicles that are tough to maintain, tougher to protect from other players----All these things need to pushed from minor annoyances to completely and utterly stressful. Navigating through zombie infested cities or high density loot areas should be all but suicidal without a group. Vehicles should require intensive repairs to maintain, keeping one should be a communal effort. Things that draw people together rather than away from each other. These are things that will help. As it stands all these things are easy to manage...They never escalated to being difficult in the mod...And they are not threatening risks in Standalone..Because Alpha...But I'm hoping in time we really get that sense of stress that is essential to the survival genre.

You forgot the long standing tradition of axe murderer. There is something invigorating about it yes? ... You usually don't just kill your opponent. You screw with their heads first. Nothing beats tracking a target for miles, waiting for him or her to present their vulnerable backside, or get stuck in a bean-eating animation. .. Like when someone goes into an apartment building, never knowing they were being tracked, only to come back down the stairs to see you standing between them and last flight down----A monolithic maniac in clown mask that had seemingly manifested out of thin air. You lunge forward, laughing in proxy a soul siphoning reverberation of the sick anticipation and newly found satisfaction in your macabre indulgence. The most rewarding kills are always the ones where you build up that anticipation and tension by sneaking and tracking. You may spend 20 minutes waiting for that complacent vulnerability to present itself.. But once it does? There last bit of seasoning you need for that kill to taste as sweet as you can even fathom is fear. Fear that you evoke with proxy chat dialogue. Particularly delicious when people just freeze up as if they don't know what to do. Guns? You don't need guns. You travel light. When you kill your opponent you take the ammo from the clip and empty it, you scatter his remains in the street. Figuratively leaving his ashes behind for someone else to discover....and wonder... Why? Ruined clothes...weapons...what happened here?
