I'd particularly like to see knives and stabbing instruments get some sort of buff, they have ridiculously slow time to kills. I could see a knife as having a faster attack speed, less range, less damage. 3-5 good frantically strafing slashes and stabs for a kill. A poor choice against Zeds, but ideal to fight players with. Bigger heavier blunt weapons like crowbars, shovels, and bats might not be too fast at killing, but might be better for causing fractures and breaking bones. But really...How am I supposed to be like the Joker and feel all the little...emotions... without a decent knife? :c

More dyanmic melee might be hard to do with the current engine--- I think I've seen someone say that before someplace, don't quote me on that. I think the best place to start would be better damage values on some of the weapons. As it stands it's either bring your fists or a fireaxe, or don't bring anything at all.

I have often thought about having something like this, a carry over from my days as an mmorpg player I suppose! But it would be convenient. My only concern would be to just make sure the accept trade prompt is small enough that people wouldn't abuse it melee combat by throwing an unexpected pop up in your face to distract you.

You post a lot of thoughtful suggestion threads Carcinovich! I like this idea. I really like the idea of maybe forgoing the killing power of a Fireaxe for the prying power of the Crowbar! Wandering the zombie apocalypse as the one Freeman! When the game is fully developed I'd really like to see military gear as a rare items, with improvised gear and civilian grade weaponry (Hunting weapons/Personal Defense firearms) more the forefront of what's common. You ideas here could be part of such a vision! Though the same can be said for clothes too, I'd like to see more late-game clothing that wasn't necessarily military but could still compete in slot-count. I'd prefer to look like a rugged scavenger rather than a paramilitary bad ass! -
I tend to look for trouble, so I have a history full of servers that are high population with 60 or less ping. This can make starting out after a respawn more challenging, but over all a less lonely experience. I suppose you can choose to see a high pop server as a glass half empty or half full. Since competing against the environment is a no go right now I choose to compete against other players for resources! More people shooting at me. More interaction. And best of all, more victims.

Leave the Coast! Best places for weapons are the villages and towns in the north, they won't be as picked clean as places near the coast or as contested as military loot. Particularly the manor style houses with pianos in them and barns if you're looking for a firearm.

Found two at the wrecked ship on the coast, and a couple in the mansion style houses that have the pianos! >.> They seem common! Finding the ammo has been the problem for me!

No, but there was a funny instance where I was chasing down two unarmed players with an axe. I identified one by his backpack and had seen him raiding a grocery store in the city up the road. I was starving to death, but didn't realize I had my mic on mute. Funny thing was, they probably would have offered me food if I had been able to ask. I passed out from hunger in the middle of the road, and they beat me to death lol. That's my dumb bandit story >.> I was the bandit all along! What a twist. They had vengeance in their hearts? ;p

Well, yeah technically. I more so meant the MMORPGs, only I usually refuse to acknowledge them as 'Roleplaying' games. More aptly referred to as social networking treadmills that make you fat! Though I guess all the simulated running in DayZ makes you fat too >.> -

Yus! I prefer the payday masks myself >.> Particularly the Dallas Mask + Red Canvas pants. And if you're lucky enough, the 'Red Punk' boots. They match up quite nicely. And the burlap sack is awesome too. You can wear that with any old beat up pair of jeans! Go for more of the crazy redneck look, and adjust dialogue accordingly. Hope they allow us to cut holes in it at some point. Speaking of which, the dialogue is probably the most fun part.
