The most hardcore zombie survival game >.> Might as well be one. Nah. This game just hates freedom.
-
I will raise you an FFT Gameover. -sighs wistfully- What a beautiful soundtrack.

Spamming about the spam isn't helping. Click the profiles, report. They gotta be bots. :/

Whatevs. Indifferent. As long as it isn't that dubstep or hiphop garbage!
-
Simply epic. Take my beans!
-
Yeah... I would like things like children zombies and what have you, but not at the expense of players overseas <3

100man servers... my biggest fear has been realised.
Rudette replied to Cenobyte's topic in General Discussion
I'm thinking the sweet spot is more around 80 players myself! That said I haven't tried the 100 player experimental yet. -
Cannibalism should be an option when starving
Rudette replied to Miquinei's topic in General Discussion
Everytime I pick up a hacksaw I think of this and I get a little sad, because as far as I understand it, we've gotten a definitive no. I can see why I suppose. We wouldn't call freshspawns bambis anymore. We'd start calling them Veal. -
Is it better to travel with your gun in your hands or on your back?
Rudette replied to omgwtfbbq (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Unless you come across a sharp shooter running fists out is a good way to go. Most people don't can't shoot a zig-zagging target (Just because they have a Mosin doesn't mean they know how to use it) but someone without their weapon holstered moves at a pace much easier for everyone to hit. However, if you can help it moving in the trees is a better idea, and keeping a crouched profile might be betters suited to that when nearing densely populated area. Staying aware of your surroundings. Tight city streets and clearing buildings is the place to have your weapon drawn. -
Would you rather have more Zombies or gradually increase player count?
Rudette replied to Miquinei's topic in General Discussion
Voted for Zedz, but I feel this way too! (At least by way of priorities.) -
What is your favorite thing to do in DayZ?
Rudette replied to oregonized's topic in General Discussion
I like try and get the jump on armed targets with an axe. The longer I have to spend sneaking up on a target, the more satisfying the kill (or traumatic my death). -
Firefighter's axe in a backpack, but not an M4?
Rudette replied to subliminal_city's topic in General Discussion
Because the M4 is ugly, bad, and you should feel bad for using it! Didn't your mother ever teach you that image is everything?! I like rick's animation idea. It would also be neat to have holsters and such maybe increase your draw speed since it makes your sidearm visible to your foe. -
Riot Gear! Nao!

Might not make a lot of sense given the location, but damn it all, I can't say no to a lever action! Too classy.

Patch 0.35 coming today, when do we get the patchnotes?
Rudette replied to Odahviing's topic in General Discussion
Probably mostly a hotfix, maybe the Ruger if we're lucky! I love the breakneck speed that they were previously pumping out updates, but I think their last patch broke a lot of stuff. Like clothing now operating like armor, I don't think that's intentional. We may see things slow down a little from this point on! -
A new loot spawn going into or out of bigger cities or at certain choke points in the inner city. Riot barricades could consist of some sort of delapidated police vehicle or van, wooden 'Do Not Cross' barricades (in Russian equivalent) blood, yellow tape, bullet casings, busted riot shields, and debris scattered around. It would be a bleak and disheartening scene to see; a clearly failed effort to reverse the tide of undead bodies that vehemently hit the barrier at somepoint in the past, having smashed it asunder and devoured those that didn't flee. In the back of the riot vans and police cars there could be a chance at the following gear (if ever added): *Police Uniforms (Pants, Kevlar Vest, Hat, Chest) *Riot Gear (Chest, Helmet, Vest, Pants, Shield?) *M110 Gasmask *Nightsticks/Police Baton *Riot Shotgun (?) *Taser (?) *SMG (MP5?) *Ammo & Magazines for aforementioned SMG *Flares *Wooden Planks (crafting/barricading) *FNX45 *45 Ammo & Magazines *Shotgun Shells *Weapon Flashlights *WalkieTalkies *Water-bottles

Eh. Generalizing is rather foolish, no? There are situations where it's perfectly reasonable to toe to toe with a shooter. When you know the sniping spots, people can be predictable. Some fool came at me once with an M4. Popped out of a bush while I was running up the coast. I ditched him, then doubled back and followed him for twenty minutes. Predictably as he chose to be, he squated in another bush. So I snuck up to him and hacked into into tiny pieces with my Axe. Same scenario could have easily happened with just my fists. If you expose yourself and don't happen to have a helmet of some sort on? Expect me to follow you. Expect me to determine rather you are an easy target or not. If you're trying to rob me and get careless, the same outcome might occur. There are times to fight. Times to flee. Times to surrender. And..times to die.

How much authenticity is too much?
Rudette replied to LaughingJack (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Sleep is actually one of those things that I think crosses the line too much. Sure, it works in Skyrim with survival mods, but that's because it's a single player game and hours slept equated to a few ticks that equate to a matter of seconds >.> Which you can mod beyond that to being instantaneous. I would say for certain that sleep and deification/urination are clear taboos for me. They offer nothing but tedium and needless game time limiters. Other systems (Hunting, skinning, disease, medicine, chemistry, crafting, broken limbs, wounds, dressing wounds, wet/cold/hypothermia, ect.) can probably be engineered within reason to be both rewardingly tedious and fun. In that sort of way that stimulates the part of the human mind that like seeing numerical values increase, or in DayZ's case, piles of loot increase! -

If my murderous azn gurl starts growing a beard then we're gonna have some problems! >.> That said on a male, I'd want to be able to put on a clown mask and spray-paint my beard, so I truly look homicide. -
I think it's bugged---hope its bugged---Kind of absurd right now! Last patch was pretty rushed, it's likely more got broken than we realize! Or perhaps things were tweaked so we could test the sewing kits. I am not really happy with it though, hope it's not staying this way. Highly doubt it is!

Logic and English died here. -Disengaging.

I play both. Because of the separate hives. >.> Sometimes I want to pew pew the dudes. Other times I want to struggle with nothing, that satisfaction from gradually gathering more loot. So which ever character is doing better than the other ends up seeking out a reckless, but ultimately loud and satisfying death so I can start over. Ideally, I have both a geared and fresh character going. lol Not always according to plan though. I do prefer hardcore though. It's scarier. I always feel like I'm being snuck up on.

Mosins are actually pretty cheap! >.> 100-200ish bucks depending on where you get it!
