    Making real friends in Dayz

There are no friends in Dayz. Only meat! And I don't talk to my food. Well.. Really I have some bad anxiety issues... So. I don't put myself in situations where anyone might depend on me. Or put myself in situations where I might depend on someone else. It keeps things simple. I get most of my interactions trying to creep people out instead.
  2. This is thread is hilarious. And old. Full of people making a huge point to let the world know how altruistic and wonderful they are. .. When underneath they are monsters just like the rest of us---The more someone shouts morality, the more despicable they are in their smug justification and conceit. People are awful! We're ALL awful >.> I'm awful. He's awful. She's awful. Bandit is awful. Hero is awful. That pig in Shrubrocketeer's story? That pig was awful too. Just accept it. The game is about survival. Play the game to survive. If that means being friendly for you? So be it. Just be smart about it rather than raging at the bandits and murderers.
  3. Hard to say. It's getting better. At a slow and steady pace. >.> I know what I hopes I have for it---Persistence will go a long way with forming server communities which is huge influence on social dynamics. *Risk Management: Pretty broad. Beefed up survival mechanics. More intense zombies. More danger and risks to manage from the environment itself. 80ish people servers. *Traps: Bear traps, pointy sticks, improvised explosives, claymore mines, rigged shotguns, trip wires, ect So much can be done with traps! *Choice-Based Crafting: That involves the re-use of several materials--to hopefully make you think about what you use your scarce materials on. There are a consortium of other things I want---but these things would add the most spice, per say, to gameplay with the least amount of radical change!

Stashing the goods. Sure, but where?

On the road, beside a fare, then pew pew at---- Oh wait. Um. ..... I would suggest hiding them in places off the most used pathes, but not too terribly far. That way you don't forget yourself. For example, there is a beautiful valley that no one would ever have any reason to go to between Svelto and this random lake/pond. There are a couple of rocks there that I'd stash things between. It's far enough out of the way that it probably won't get found, but isn't somewhere I won't forget. Of course, that's not where I'm going to put my stuff, but I made note of it >.> just eyeball these spots. Make note of them. Make sure you can remember where you put your things. You don't want to have the sensation of a squirrel who has lost it's buried food.

    Leather Sack

I think it just comes down to... You use what you can find. You're not always going to find 'high tier" gear right off the bat. So what do you do? You improvise. Another factor is comfort. In several games there are metas. In Street Fighter games, for example, you might be told your character is low tier as compared to other fighters. .. But if you are comfortable in that character's skin and know it's combos, ranges, and math inside and out you're still going to fight better than you would with a character you don't like or don't know. The same can be said for weapons in DayZ. If you've mastered a "lower tier" weapon's idiosyncrasies and feel comfortable with it you'll probably preform better with it. You can play to the strengths of your weapon, the weaknesses of your enemies' weapons.

  8. >.> Natural or not it's annoying to me. Like fingernails on a chalkboard annoying. Sure, they can't help it but it doesn't mean I have to like it. Plus they are pretty back stabby. Back stabbyier than me! And that's impressive. In a bad way! <.< Execution. All of them. No remorse! Full grown males aren't much better attitude wise.. But at least some of you are pleasant to listen to.

    liking the game But....

Try to be sneakier and careful about your movement; everything you do should be very deliberate with as much concealment as possbile. Also, scout areas before you enter. Especially high traffic areas like towns and military loot spawns---tree to five minutes of watching might reveal someone bouncing from building to building looting. Someone who could be a potential hostile.

    Bandit life

The reason you were bored is because there was no torture, no begging, no mind games. You gotta play with your food a little! Season your prey to taste with a pinch of despair! But most of all... .You lacked a true hunt. Get yourself an axe. Go towards Svelto or Berezino... Anywhere along the coast. Stick the tree line. stalk someone for 30 minutes to an hour until opportunity presents itself. Chop them into bits with your axe...SCREAM bloody murder while you do it! Watch them frantically try to spin around to shoot you in vain. Bury your axe in their skull! Stand over their corpse and catch your breath after a long satisfying hunt. You'll feel your blood doing summersaults in your veins in celebration of the sick anticipation of wrought by the climactic execution that culminated in the grand finale of your hunt. ... Then come back and tell us how you feel.

    future update ideas?

I want traps. Craftable traps. Heinous amounts of traps! >.> As a solo player, having traps to watch my back would be nice! I want systems that play off of each other. Multiple uses for items like duct tape or barbed wire. An example being that if you were to find barbed wire maybe you could wrap it around your baseball bat, use it as a trap, use it to reinforce a barricade, weld it to the side of your vehicle? So instead of just another trash item you've picked up a bundle of choices that you could apply to multiple systems within the game.

    DayZ PS4 Discussion

PC Masta race! Consoles are not to my standards, especially since I've grown out of a lot of classic exclusive tittles. Hell, I also consider Origin and it's plethora of problems beneath me! I guess having the option open for all walks of life and sets of standards---those not tech/PC inclined or those who have already blown money on a console---is a good thing. For DayZ. I kind of feel the same way about gaming on a laptop.>.> Why, when you can have superior hardware for cheaper? Money isn't always an object though. So again, standards. I won't be happy about any concessions I might have to make for the console class of gamer, however.

    Nice people

There was a guy I bumped into a couple days ago begging for some bandages. Usually I love it when they beg. But his voice was..enchanting. Triggered something in me, and I told him to back up and ended up dropping bandages and some ammo for his empty SKS. I promptly broke line of sight after telling him what was there on the ground--- being friendly and stupid don't always go hand in hand. I stalked him till he left town.. To ensure he wasn't stalking me. He was obviously some sort of incubus or warlock. Didn't last though. I axed the next guy I saw and took his Sporter and 30 round magazine. Fun little toy that Sporter can be!
  14. Knee capping a fresh spawn who was begging for his life while running from a group zombies is one of my most cherished DayZ memories! Current zombies aren't exactly conducive to that sort of scenario cropping up often .. But--Zombies are getting better all the time! I think roaming hordes--or even small roaming packs--- with highly aggressive hunter-killer behavior would add some scary moments, even with the current Zedz.

Warning about future Storage on Tents

Losing your gear is part of the game anyway >.> And no matter how well you hide your tent if we go back to 80+ people servers someone will find it. Especially with more incentives to live in the wilderness, such as leather gear and a steady source of food. People in the mod loved/love to hunt them regardless. Tents are probably smalltime. Persistent storage is going to lead to us looting cabinets and fridges in houses. There will likely be some extension, some alternative persistent storage that would hopefully be easier to hide. Considering barricading houses is on the table it's likely some form of crate or lockers will follow. Remember all those tweets? "Tents aren't confirmed" "Persistent storage doesn't necessarily mean tents" (maybe not verbatim, but similar statements) that alludes that something else might have been planned or perhaps still is a work in progress.

    Notes on the ground

Dog tags would be fun. Like a way to keep track of the people you've killed! Or to remember your fallen who-ever-that-random-guy was you teamed up with. I wish we could collect peoples ears or fingers and make jewelry out of them. For the same reason---more or less >.>

    Sniping is a cowards technique?

Too much bravery is the blissful absence of caution. Too much cowardice leads to missed opportunity. A healthy balance of both keeps you alive. Too much of either gets you killed. Too much stock in the concrete definition of either word is just another way to feed ego and pass blame. Choose to learn from failure and adjust accordingly rather than throw all that valuable experience out the window for the sake of ego stroking claims of unfairness or OPness.
  22. I like the coast, that's where the people are. >.> Leaving the coast just results in me getting bored and gearing to come back to the coast for a warrior's death. I like to meet meat people.

    Do we want vehicles?

Vehicles will be fun. Eventually. >.> What I really really want are traps...So many fun things you can do with traps....barbed wire, bear traps, pointy sticks--even just simple stuff will do <.< I hope all this stuff eventually plays off each other, or factors into decisions you have to make--- Say you find some barbed wire.. You might want to wrap it around your baseball bat, reinforce a barricade, or put it on the front of your car!
  24. >.> I've been glued to the coast lately, I guess that's my problem!
