I don't hack. No reason for it. I am not that big into PvP. My play style is relaxed mellow sort of way. In fact. I was a bit insulted when I got kicked recently by this Gotcha-Antihack system some of these new hive servers are using. My belief is hacking is a way for people to grief others. And that is not my style of play. When I got kicked from the server I was a bit worried as I have heard many people say how they have had their ID’s stolen. But, I don't give my ID out or do most things that might get it stolen. Plus, I realized after going to the Gotcha website; this program is a work in progress and bugs and issues may exist. So I sent Democore, whom seemed to be the promenant admin of the site. a plee for help. In hopes he could contact the server owner and get me unbanned and maybe fix what ever issue caused the auto-ban. So I am also posting this hear. Maybe others can use this to keep an eye out for these issues. Battle-eye anti-hax system kicked me around 9am 01/14/2013. The server was: DayZ Namalsk 0.73 US NY( v1.7.4.4/build 100296 )[REGULAR|3DP:ON|CH:ON][GMT-6] - Ranalli Brothers - gotcha-antihack.com IP: 74.91.116.176:2312 I am on a Dell Studios XPS 435T Win7 64-bit Operating System. I recently downloaded DayzCommander so I could explore the other newer maps. Normally I manually download stuff and had only played on Cherno. But, with the new standalone coming and the need to keep up with changes I choose DayZCom as my new loading system for Dayz. {NOTE: I had played on one other server with this type map. And, one one server with Panthera map.} So I loaded onto the above listed server. There seemed to be no issues. It was a fresh load on a public hive. Inventory was all the normal newbee start items; empty newbee pack, bandage, painkiller, and a flashlight. Nothing strange had happened out of the normal. I started off running. That was it. Nothing else, just running. There was no one else online according to the list. I was alone. I saw a helicopter spawn in the distance, and the Zeds had just spawned. I was kicked a few seconds after the Heli-Zed spawn. I hope this might help others look into this new antihack program and get it up and running a bit smoother. As I know I was not hacking or doing anything abnormal. And though, I am new to DayZCommander; to my knowledge the system is legit and many players use it to access DayZ. Thanx

No Gender Selection when logging into Hive servers???

Since loading 1.7.3 and now with the 1.7.4.4 full + Patch... When I log into a hive server for the first time or cycle from death. I am not getting the gender selection screen. I have not tried it with none hive servers, so not sure if only hive are not getting selection screen. So it appear to me Gender Selection was not implemented or is not working for me. -
This started very recently. I have 1.7.3 loaded; plus, ARMA2_OA_Build_98220 loaded. Played on a couple hiver servers. No problem. This morning. I downloaded ARMA2_OA_Build_99113. I now am unable to log into any of the Hive or non-hive servers I use. I have also checked several other servers and have recieved the same responce. I am working on the issue and I am hoping I will not have to reload everything, as that would be a pain. I am posting this so you know the problem exists and maybe others who have loaded the most recent ARMA2 OA PUBLIC BETA BUILD 99113 and have been getting same problem can post here as well. Ok, so here is the update on my working to fix this problm. FYI - I tried a total of 37 servers many of them well populated and posting the most updated files on their descriptions. It was obviosuly something in the loading of the new beta build files is my guess. I'm thinking I got a corrupted file during load or something. As for my fix. I relaoded the most recent ArmA2 updates. Made sure they was all nice and such. Reloaded 1.7.3 and the ARMA2 OA PUBLIC BETA BUILD 99113. I also, downloaded and manually put the most recent Battleeye files from the ArmA sight. I tried one non hive and one hive server before bed time. And in both cases, I loaded into the game no problems. Hope if anyone elese comes across this problem my fix helps. Laterz

Create loot points that are not just random ground drops. Boxes, crates, tarps, bins, furneture, trunks on vehicles, trash heap, and anything else could be considered holding something of value. In doing this, you can control the spawn of items in a better way. Less air born spawns. Also, spawns can be controled better, thus when an individual enters an area they can see different spawn items as the spawn that drops in the spawn points is to them and not others. I'm not saying items dropped on the ground should be totally removed. Just some new style of item spawns might be added to the game. SO you can rumage through a car trunk or various places to find items not so obviously out in the open. As for military spawns. Lockboxes, vaults, and other harder to get into item spawn holders might be introduced. Giving a more challanging way to get those higher end items. Some of these could contain traps or security safe guards. making it harder to just run up and grab that AS50 or other higher end items. these are just thoughts to consider. Not end product ideas. I was on one of those hive type servers playing around. I was the only one on the server, until someone popped in right by me. I mean the chances. So, I logged back on to say something cause this server has side chat. As I come on I got 12k HP. But, I am stunned and unable to do anything. Someone, the only other person on server Dagguhswaggyh shoots me dead a second time. My respawn point was a fair distance. So it is obvious this person is hacking. Server info as it reads DayzChernarus - (1.7.2.6/97240) - (UTC-5) - Veteran(3d=on)(CH=on) - OHM Dayz I know this is a private type. But, hacking is hacking. PS: event happened around 11am to noone 10/05/12

Someone shot within a minute after I had spawned. That wasn't the humorous part. I spawned maybe 100 yards down the coast. I knew exactly where they guy was who shot me. So I ran over the hill into the near-by town. Got like 20 or so Zeds on me and ran zig zag at the guy as he tried to shoot me again. But, I got him. I died and, not long after so did he. The humor was as I was dragging those Zeds the line from Galaxy Quest ran through my mind “You may destroy my ship. But, what you fail to realize is, I’m dragging minds!” (Well, I think that is how the line went.) *beams smile* -

Um, but; seriously beware the Squirrels. Their hive mind powers are awesome.... /K Actually; I have seen it happen both ways. SOme due to the recent server hoppers blitzing townships. But, I have seen few weapons ton's of ammo in one barn and after an hour maybe if I lived. Find another barn with four weapons a little ammo. *laughs* So, you seem to be on a dry spell. Try putting the ocean to your back and RUN inland for about 10 minutes. Loose the Zeds, via hill sides, double door barns and such. After this, explore and find a couple small villages with barns. You should find something you can use, and the hatchet is awesome vs Zeds if you can get the hit in around neck level before they swing on you. *grins* -
It's the Squirrels, I mean you never see them anywhere. And, they know if you did, you would shoot and eat them; so, they use their hive mind to warp gravity, after only the survivors die. They gather all the nut's from the land and hide again......

The laws of physics are warped around the Lands of Chernos, gravity is very unstable. Causing massive death to all survivors. This phenomenon does not apply to animals and Zeds. It's the squirrel hive mind I tell you; I mean have you seen any squirrels. NO, because they are using their powers to make themselves invisible so you won’t shoot and eat them...

Just my can of beans here!!! I came acdross the fire house in electro and the tower was fully Wired-in. So I searched and found a toolbox. I spent about an hour running about that tower and found NO WAY to remove the wire. It was placed as to not be removable; as far as I could find. I understand the use and need for the wire as an added feature. However, wiring in a place making it fully unaccessable with no way for an out sider to remove the wire without hopping servers is to me an exploitive use of the wire; especially if it is set to protect the server hopping croweds claim to loot. To me this is not a game intended use of the wire. I'm in no way saying remove the wire use. I found it pretty handy when I set up a wall of it and used it to slow down some of those rotty type folks who decided to come for me. *laughs* By the way; a few of those Zeds managed to cross the wire by walking right threw the stuff. "No fair" *laughs* It did make them slow down a bit, instead of running, so it sort of worked *grins* However, I agree in part what the exploiters are doing can be veiwed as positive. This is an alpha phase run. So in a way exploiters are testing the exploitive use of items and helping rocket figure out a better way to set it up. *smiles* So, to conclude. If you hear tons of Zeds trapped in a shed, or see a HUGE wired in area. Just move along or find another server. I think Rocket is aware of the need to rework wire by now *beams smile*

Just a thought for the future.. Ammo Pouch and Ammo Belts Ammo Pouch = two slots in inventory. Allows 4 slots of ammo only to be carried for use. Ammo Belt = four slots in inventory. Alows 8 slots of ammo only to be carried for use. Both items should not be usable within a backpack as they are for expanding space for a specific high use item within the person carried area. Like a combat harness which gives varied slots for specific items without removing normal belt space. It's just a thought, for a varied way to expand inventory with specific items in mind.

SKill set's. As someone who has grown up around Gun's, Hunting, Fishing, and pretty much anything that would help me survive in the wilds. I can say for sure. One Hunting knife is all I need to start a fire. And, with a bit of cloth, I can also snares and/or kill small animals. Also, Fishing anyone. However, as I own 6 weapons in my house all varied for different reasons. And, my skill sets are pretty good. Not graet; but, good enough I could survive in the woods and possibly the desert. As I grew up around the south west area as well is the north east. (I moved alot being a military brat.) I understand NOT everyone would have the same skill sets. I personally couldn't fix a car engine if my life depended on it. But, my Uncle could with a pocket knife and bailing wire. SO... Maybe, in the near future you look into possibly giving skill sets based on choosen backgrounds. Each, skill set is based loosly on say; Police officers, varied military backgrounds, Woodsman sportsman types, and so on. In each case, they start with slightly different start up items. And, their skill set is slightly different; however, you give them a chance to trade say one or two sub-skills out for the hobby factor. Like an Office worker who grew up being a boy scout and knowing certain survival skills he/she might recall. With these skill sets, the varied items like Hunting knifes, hatchet, crowbar, compass, map, tools, empty bottles, empty tin cans, and so on... Might become more effective in small ways for certain sub-skills of the individual. Giving a variation to each individual. Enough, so it would make teaming interesting and productive. This, skill set, would also including accuracy of weapon use and knowledge. Not, everyone actually knows how to use a grenaide as affectively as a Military trained person could. Just a thought; *grins*

PVP Philosophy & 3 Suggestions make it more intense, less casual/unemotional killing

Mm, ok. So you have key locations within the map. That if you can hold it free of Zeds. You get a reward. However, it is made so difficult one person couldn't do it without some major work or planning help. Maybe find a NPC docter who knows where a plasma bank is with other important medical supplies. He needs an escort to a specific location where ONLY he can open the bunker up. Or a barried Ammo, equipment catche is found. Where you have to use loud equipment to dig it out, even explosives. Drawing every Zed within 20Kliks to you. *laughs* Just a thought or two *grins* -
It's the lack of Calcium in your diets J/K!!!!!!!! Um, might try a varied degree of leg damage. Instead of out right broken; you might have damage do something from hindered to out right broken almost immobale. The damage check would do from low level of immobale to highest calling the damage a sprang, bruised, splinted, cracked, and broken bone damage. The bone symbol would change color from yellow to bright red to show how bad the bone is hurt. :cool:

So, here is the few things I managed to note while trying to hook up with my partner to try other things... Yeah, some people are still working in teams *laughs* {{So; We love online games like this and want to see this one make the grade. That is mainly why we are teaming up. Otherwise we would be wacking each other on sight *laughs again*}} So, today we tested a few things out, which I think might help those new to this enviroment. The Zeds seem to be a slight bit easier to sneak around. However, they seem to still agro a heck of a lot more even when we are prone and moving slowly out of their veiw. Also, they are still hard as heck to loose once the agro. Two tricks we use is the old Dock method and steep hill sides. Yup, you run along the steepest hill side you can find and the Zed slips down and damages itself sometimes dieing. Here's another trick we tried that seemed to work. Play Chicken with the Zeds. Just be ready to Zig/Zag around them so they don't get a good wack on you. It seems to confuse them if you charge around and through them. *laugh* My brother did this with about 30 or so of them after him. Most of them stopped for like a second or so turned and started runnign again. Was funny watching it happen. So when running from Zeds use the terrian to you advantage. Zeds can run up hill faster than you; but, they are not so sure footed. SO use the hill sides to trip them up as well as fencing and the Docks along shores. *smiles mischievously* While exploring buildings and such, we noticed that the Zed's are still having pathing issue's in some areas. Especially narrow LONG door ways and stairs. They seem to get stuck a bit or in the case of stairs fall or slip down into the stairs. We also noticed several Zeds spawning in thick wall structures. My Brother was attacked by one of them as we entered a building was funny to hear him shout out WTF *laughs out Loud* But, we shot it dead. This happened about 4 times more. Moving along, my brother and I tested out crawling through buildings and such. The auto stand up is still present in a few cases as was the slight damaging fall. OK< wasn't slight when my brother broke his leg while I was bandaging him and he fainted from blood loss near a doorway. *laughs* So, here is the last thing we played around with, empty can and bottle toss. The work fairly well with a couple glitches. One, the emote animation does the throwing action twice. The first is a fake toss. Causing em to almost die *laughs* The bottle hit the wall I rolled behind after the first fake toss. I was like Oh, hell. did the roll to live trick and backed around a near by corner hoping the Zed didn't see or hear me. I got lucky that time. Additionally, after throwing said item, instead of going back into a prone position. You end up in a crouch or in oen case standign up. That you might wanna look into. Maybe have prone, crouch, and standing give different ranges you can toss something and be seperate emotes?? Well, one other not. Did someone tweek the M1911 damage. It almost seemed to hit as weak as a Makorov. I didn't get a chance to try a .45 revolver. Thanx for reading. Hope some of this helps out; JessDOA

I spawned in... Fist time, after much work to get the patch to load and work, drew agro almost immediatly from a zombie that was within the spawn area I spawned into. My guess, someone was training zombies through the area. As I ventured out once I spawned in an area semi-safe... Auto stood up, 5 times from door stoops, debree in roads and around yards, and openings in fences with a little debree in them. Was damged and harmed while attempting to crawl into buildings; causing death, broken limbs, bleeding wounds, shock and auto standing. Also, was unable to crawl up stairs. While crawling across a field, someone trained zombies across me and I drew agro off them *sighs* While rising into a crouch to enter buildings I drew agro a few times from zombies coming form other side of building. Didn't happen everytime. While searching spawn areas, found large areas with empty spawn spots and no sign of other players. Also, found a couple spawns in unreachable locations. IE, in the air fairly high up. When, I did find a few barns with spawed items. I only found, ammo, Vehicle parts, fuel cans, empty tin stuff, flares/chem lights, and barbed wire/ tank traps. No weapons and, very little food or drink. May I was having a bit of bad luck; however, when I did find weapons in electro, I only came across two newbee spawn pistols during my four attempts at exploring electro. Zombie agro, seemed at a very LONG range. Might be due to the increase in noise you make crouched; not sure on that part. However, I drew agro a few times crawling and I didn't think I was that close. SO, I did find not having a weapon far more challanging, it just takes SOOOO long to crawl to any place with spawns for food, drink, and weapons. *Hopes on soap box* I refused to TRAIN zombies like in some PUG game. (Sorry) *steps off soap box* I think, if the Item spawns are tweaked and bit. As well as, maybe the noise/veiw of crouch and crawl tweaked a bit to player favor. It might make agro a bit less if your careful and stealthy. I did manage to stealth about. It is just takes a LARGE amount of boring time waiting on zombie movement. And, in heavier zombie spawn areas and no wepaon. Almosy impossible to get into without dieing or doing the TRAIN RUSH (which I refuse to do). ear are some observations. I worked on sneaking about even though it sucked. The crouch seems to give off far more noise and the Zombies seem to see me from the other side of buildings when I go to crouch to enter buildings. I do this because of other issues with entering buildings while trying to crawl. I did notice if you crouch/walk it doesn't draw as often. But, the range they agro at is closer to three to four times what it use to be. And, even when I am in a building and lay down NOT in veiw of the zombie they still rush in and attack. *sighs* So, yes it seems the train gang method is the way most people are going to go to get to a location as you run through a building and hide around a corner and poof agro gone. Also, they seem to run faster as I can hardle loose them in a full out run standing up. Additionally I slow down on uphill the zombies don't *frowns* That's it for my add to the zombie boost. *grins*
