  1. IRL if your were to find a scope lying around and just fit it to your gun, you would HAVE to go to a gun range and spend several hours zeroing and honing the scope to your gun. So lets be honest, they arent exactly true to RL anyway.

Several hours is a bit over the top. This might be the case for some people, but if it takes you hours to zero a sight, you might want to drop the weapon and pick up some tomato seeds...

Anyone that actually knows that they are doing should be able to do it in 20 rounds or less and taking 10-15 minutes.

  2. Removing zeroing from other scopes like the acog or red dot isn't realistic either,as I own one of both aswell(in case you're wondering I have these on my AR-15 and my MK17 SCAR) and guess what, they too have windage and elevation adjustments. Even iron sights have these adjustments,I'm not sure about the pso or PU though. I saw someone make mention about the recoil being unrealisitc,my question there is...have you ever fired one of these before? Mosin,M4,akm etc? I have and the recoil is very close, more so on the mosin and M4.

So if you don't like zeroing all I can say is deal with it,it's realisic.Again it doesn't show the range but if you know how to use these tools it's actually very easy to do with little effort. However I do agree mildots need to be implemented,as almost all modern scopes have them.

This isn't really the type of zeroing that is being discussed here. Red dot and ACOG sights are zero'd when first acquired and periodically to confirm the zero. These aren't sights that you on the fly adjust your zeroing.

I'm not for or against removing zeroing, I think every sight should reflect it's real life counter part.

And for the guy that said he was used to having an ACOG zero'd to 100m. Most ACOG's, especially military spec ACOG's are meant to be zero'd at 300m, hence the 4, 5, and 6 markings under the center.

  3. Reason and debate is something that escapes you people. You banded together and managed to come up with one con. Is that it? Any others? Because so far, the pros are greatly outweighing the cons.

I'm pretty sure that the one con outweighs all of your pros, considering not a single person has agreed with you.

  4.  I don't get your 'type of game' argument. Your argument seems to go like this: people will wait a period time to play a game that is shorter than the waiting period, but will not wait a short period of time to play a game that takes place over a much longer period of time. Does that really make sense to you?

And you're right, you don't need to keep repeating yourself because we've already established that you would in fact wait for a DayZ server to fill up and launch.

So me saying that no one would wait for as long as it would take for a DayZ server to fill up, is me saying that I would wait for a server to fill up? Wat?

  5. Unless it's Battle Royale though, right? You know, the game where you have to wait for 29 other people to join, that usually takes 15-20 mins and you might only survive for 5. You would wait. You know how I know you would wait? Because you play DayZ in it's current state. Because you play a game where you don't really want to have to spend time gearing up, but you do anyways because you want to play with the rest of us. You will even go as far as to waste your own time running around on an empty server just to do so, so that you can eventually join a populated server and finally get to "start" playing the game. Ya, you would wait.

Theres what, 20 or less Battle Royal servers? Also BR is a match based game, Like COD and BF4. DayZ is not. They are a completely different type of game, but now I'm just repeating myself...

  6. I think you're wrong. People would wait, you would wait and it wouldn't even be long. You have to keep in mind that the only reason why you think it would take a long time for a server to fill up is because of the shear amount of people that are purposely joining low pop servers in order to gear up. Those same peeps then once geared up, move into position and log into a full server. If you don't see this as a current problem then I can only come to one conclusion, you're part of that problem. Another thing that may be skewing your perspective on this is the current state of stable servers, where most are on a reset timer of 1-2 hours so you have set in your mind that the servers would always be resetting and therefore you would always be waiting. Stable servers won't always be like this. EXP servers are currently running on a 10hr reset schedule. So you're telling me that having to wait a few minutes for 19 other players you join your 40 slot server once every 10 would be so much of a pain in the ass for you that you would stop playing the game all together? Ya, I don't think so.

And then you become that one person waiting for at least 19 other people to join. People wouldn't wait, they would rather go play something else that they can enjoy in an instant.

  7. No one wants to wait for a server to fill up to be able to play.

Edit: DayZ and Battle Royal are two completely different game types. BR servers reset when the match is over, DayZ servers do not have matches(no jokes about box of matches please...).

  8. The title for this thread should be "3 things that are in or will be in DayZ".

More zombies is already planned to be in the game. Walkie Talkies can already be used to communicate, and with a little imagination, they can play music. As for GPS, I'm not sure if its confirmed that it will be in, but I'm sure it will.

  9. For everyone that thinks this would be hard, what sort of drugs are you on? I get that you need to have the right angle to see through a scope. Which is why I cant shoot lefty with my friends SIG556xi, but have no problem shooting righty. There is no reason why someone wouldn't be able to hold a scope by its self and look through it. There is nothing in the way preventing you from looking through the scope at the right angle or distance, like people have already posted..

  10. The only thing that should be added in is arm bands and you should have to actually find and equip them. Probably made from tearing up a shirt or something and should be able to get a few from one shirt. This doesn't stop other people from being able to wear them, which is how it should be.

  11. But you never quite know what new things might turn up in a patch.. that the devs omitted to mention

it is kind of disturbing when you are in the game

the first time I got a "you have just °°°° in your pants"  message... I was, for a moment, .. worried

maybe you are the first to catch the DZV

    (DayZ Virus)

    good luck

Can't catch the virus. According to the lore, every survivor is immune.

  12. it's the server admin trolling you I think, the server texts can look like your avatar messages

(unless you caught the plague and it's the first symptoms of turning into a zombie, hmm?)

Probably this. I've been on a few servers and have had a message saying "You feel like someone is watching you." Just a troll.

  13. I just had a vision of a sniper laying down on a fire ant hill.

    "Your crotch is burning"

This is pretty much what I thought when I first read ants too. Me and a ton of other people know what its like to go prone in an ant hill and not know until you are covered and in pain.

  14. Nope not at all what that means. The more I play it never makes killing a zed with a wrench any easier

So, you really want a "wrench killing" skill? And yes, playing more can increase your wrench killing ability. Every melee fight you get into should increase your ability to fight with melee weapons until you are able to fight without getting hit most of the time.

  15. Something like this is not needed. For those of you that think it is, think about it like this. The more you play, the better you will be at it. This covers everything from shooting to surviving.
