Should scopes in dayz have the ability to zero?
chekovp replied to Karmaterror's topic in General Discussion
Several hours is a bit over the top. This might be the case for some people, but if it takes you hours to zero a sight, you might want to drop the weapon and pick up some tomato seeds... Anyone that actually knows that they are doing should be able to do it in 20 rounds or less and taking 10-15 minutes. -

This isn't really the type of zeroing that is being discussed here. Red dot and ACOG sights are zero'd when first acquired and periodically to confirm the zero. These aren't sights that you on the fly adjust your zeroing. I'm not for or against removing zeroing, I think every sight should reflect it's real life counter part. And for the guy that said he was used to having an ACOG zero'd to 100m. Most ACOG's, especially military spec ACOG's are meant to be zero'd at 300m, hence the 4, 5, and 6 markings under the center. -
I'm pretty sure that the one con outweighs all of your pros, considering not a single person has agreed with you.

So me saying that no one would wait for as long as it would take for a DayZ server to fill up, is me saying that I would wait for a server to fill up? Wat?
-
Theres what, 20 or less Battle Royal servers? Also BR is a match based game, Like COD and BF4. DayZ is not. They are a completely different type of game, but now I'm just repeating myself...
-
And then you become that one person waiting for at least 19 other people to join. People wouldn't wait, they would rather go play something else that they can enjoy in an instant.
-
No one wants to wait for a server to fill up to be able to play. Edit: DayZ and Battle Royal are two completely different game types. BR servers reset when the match is over, DayZ servers do not have matches(no jokes about box of matches please...).

Its over when its over? -
Well now that that is sorted out. Walkie talkies and music radios don't operate on the same frequencies and one would have to be modified for what you are suggesting to work.
-
Why would a radio be louder than a walkie talkie? What sort of radio are you talking about exactly?
-
The title for this thread should be "3 things that are in or will be in DayZ". More zombies is already planned to be in the game. Walkie Talkies can already be used to communicate, and with a little imagination, they can play music. As for GPS, I'm not sure if its confirmed that it will be in, but I'm sure it will.

For everyone that thinks this would be hard, what sort of drugs are you on? I get that you need to have the right angle to see through a scope. Which is why I cant shoot lefty with my friends SIG556xi, but have no problem shooting righty. There is no reason why someone wouldn't be able to hold a scope by its self and look through it. There is nothing in the way preventing you from looking through the scope at the right angle or distance, like people have already posted..

The only thing that should be added in is arm bands and you should have to actually find and equip them. Probably made from tearing up a shirt or something and should be able to get a few from one shirt. This doesn't stop other people from being able to wear them, which is how it should be.
-
Hacksaws aren't meant for wood, its a pain just to cut a branch that is an inch or two thick. You are better off just breaking it with your hands.
-
This really should be put back in, they are designed to be worn together and there are a ton of other clipping issues with other hats and masks that still remain possible to combine.
