yes, its quite posible to play alone. play more and you will get better. this is a typical newbie story. you are excited over the most basic items, and then you walked into a PvP town and died. play more and you will understand everything better. you are wrong in thinking you weren't carrying anything worthwhile. you were carrying tears, and this thread proves they collected them :P

don't get atached to gear, and hackers won't bother ya. don't give them tears to feast on.

gotta love when an actual game feature helps hackers troll you better. +1 for epic patches.

if you can play this game for 100+ hours (or whatever nubmer you consider a long playtime) and just kill zombies we are all happy for ya. for some of us, it is a snorefest, so we go out and seek pvp to get the adrenaline running. seems you enjoy it as well, you just prentend you are a knight in shing armor and we are bandit scum lol. whatever keeps you happy and fighting back is fine with me :)

go to battleye's website and do some reading. you cannot get global banned for picking up stuff spawned by hackers.

they happen in cherno, balota and berezino quite a lot as well. but yeah, if you stick to the wilderness, you are prolly fine. PvP spots are ruined by it though.

i've been playing AC revelations while waiting for this patch. i do miss dayZ, but i'd rather not waste my time on graphical glitches all over my screen. just pplay something else, and the patch will come. I never had these glitches until patch 1.7.2.4

you are doing it wrong. the proccess of exploring and finding gear is what is integral to the game. not actually having it. if you are attached to your gear, you will rage all the time, or start alt+f4 exploiting. no other way about it.

you can hack if you want, but don't kid yourself that you have an excuse or a justification for it. as soon as you start cheating, you are the same as all of the cheaters, no matter what your reasons are.

its an evolving world on each server though. if you get onto a more experienced server, you will find that electro and cherno are ghost towns. ocassionally a fresh spawned newbie will show up, but for the most part, on a server where most people are geared up and somewhere north, there is almost zero action in coastal towns, so snipers move ono other servers. this is the greatest part about the game. every server has evolved differently. so you always have to be on edge, not knowing what to expect. On the other hand, snipers being a weapon of choice, makes sense. the game is perma death and death comes swiftly. countering snipers is thus the toughest job in the game, as it should be. you either need a thermal scope, or you need to thread cautiously, and scan areas that you plan on traversing. PvP is predominant because there are weapons, and they are satisfying to use. hunting humans is also immesuarably more satisfying then hunting A.I. Unless the game moves away from a sandbox with severe restrictions to what kind of gameplay is encouraged/discouraged, the PvP aspect won't change much.

aww. so you don't want any risks to being inside towns and looting for vehicle parts that could lead to a huge increase in traveling speed and a huge increase in storage space?

or you joined a server with a private hive. quit and join a nother server and you will be on the coast with your gear intact. happened to me twice.

we did hear from the devs. you jsut missed it. in the troubleshooting section of the forum, one of the devs started a thread about the graphical glitches ;)

yes. go to arma 2 operation arrowhead folder and delete the whole @DayZ folder. if you need a manual step by step how to install dayz: http://dayzmod.com/f...ld/#entry333776 if you have non steam version just ignore the steam related steps.

its some sort of desync issue as of late. you need to wait around 1min then the meat can be looted.

what about the huge graphics glitch that came with the patch?

because cherno has military tents, thus military zombies spawned ;)

if it comes back reisntall your windows. or better yet, buy a new PC.

i only play on vet servers. too bad that narrows down the choice dramatically. 3 out of 5 servers seem to be regular. :( you will learn the ropes even slower. because snipers join regular servers, and dont even have to adjust their sights. they see your distance, and then can see your name tags through walls. enjoy learning the ropes in electro with snipers knowing your every move. you only get worse by playing on regular.
