  1. Not game breaking... Anyways it will eventually be fixed, probably when they introduce that new engine they have been talking about. Until then maybe learn how it works or avoid that whole area. There are, however, other such areas where you can get into walls and what not. You may think you are safe, but my dear boy, that is an illusion Oh, and for PVP give Electro, Berezino, or just about any other coastal town a chance

    your choice in weapons?

    When it comes to rifles, I always ditch the shotgun and b95. Had plenty of times where another was using the shotgun and couldnt hit for chit. I have also had the same problem when someone moves up on you too fast, i think its the damn desync :) Now, the b95 is interesting, but i feel like its damage is far less than that of the Mosin, and i've had encounters where it takes 4 b95 rounds to down someone. Now, the SKS is a pretty good brawler weapon, and plenty of ammo all around. Would drop the SKS for a Mosin to play longer ranges or if I had a compensator and long range scope. In the city though, gotta keep the sks out. The M4 is pretty much the best of the best. When your in a firefight in the city, nothing can compare to the full auto spray. Especially when people look like they are running through walls and what not. Sure, the ammo might not be found in the big cities, but a few airfield runs and you should be well stocked. Also nice grabbing MP parts off your now dead enemies m4. Once you are rolling all pristine MP with that Acog, its gg. Switch to single shot and take out those pesky sniper hill campers from inside the city, spray at the axe murdered who just opened your door, engage multiple bandits moving down the street, rush some shotgun wielding hillbilly camped in a 3story, its all possible with a M4. When choosing a pistol, the magnum is easiest to get rolling. I usually ditch it after finding an fnx magazine though.. Not that I really ever use the pistols anyways... When I look back though, ive had more kills with the fnx. Gotta be the 15 rd magazine :)

    Server population - do you gravitate to large or small?

    Gotta start low, collect some gear and a bag, then pop off to a more populated server to get your murder on. I find it most fun to hunt other bandit groups, checking overview and roadside camper spots then going into Electro to watch the fireworks

    All this crap about getting a heart attack from running for hours.. If they wanted to make running more realistic, why not implement some sort of stamina based system. I don't really like the idea of a heart attack when we have a hard enough time telling why a player is unconscious as it is. Even when we know why, not all the medical stuff works properly. Priorities... lol
  5. With this whole implementation of Heart Attacks and sickness from weather conditions, why not introduce some sort of skill tree. You see it in all sorts of games, including infestation :) Make it so when your character dies, you lose all gained XP and must start fresh. Gain experience from specific activities that go towards spendable points in certain branches, like mechanical branch, medical, survival, fighter, ect. For Example: Healing survivors using bandages / saline iv / epinephrine / morphine / defib -gain points to be used in a medical branch to reduce time it takes to perform medical actions, reduce the % of a bandage used, increase healing effectiveness of saline iv / blood bags, increased immunity against illness or heart attack, ect Killing zombies / other survivors -gain points to be used in fighting / survival branch to increase melee damage, reduce weapon sway, increase base health, increase hold breath time, reduce recoil, the ability to canabalize, ect Building structures / repairing vehicles -gain points to be used in mechanical branch to reduce time it takes to perform tasks, increase fuel efficiency, increase speed offroad, allow for additional armaments to be added to vehicle/building. ------- They just need to give survivors more incentive to actually SURVIVE.. Plus it would give friendly survivors more reason to help out other players. Stupid idea? Too much like other games? Brilliant?
  6. Well, if every time you die you spawn as someone new, why not have an already learned set of skills. Why not have your character randomly generated at spawn. To be true to a survivor game, these characters would have already had a life and profession. How would you spawn as a completely new character in the middle of an apocalypse? The skills wouldnt need to be anything major, just slight improvements.

    Mosin Recoil Balancing

    I don't think the recoil is as much a factor as the cycling of the bolt. You should be able to delay a cycle by holding the mouse button down. Also, i feel like the sounds don't always work properly, sometimes they dont work at all.
  10. I think persistent storage is an important addition to the game. It seems reasonable to believe that it will all be server side, so you could have player-created structures and stash areas on multiple servers. All that sounds great. I feel like the thing that needs to be worked is the value of surviving. They need to implement a skill system or something similar to really make surviving an important element. Skills that become learn-able with experience from completing tasks like bandaging/healing other characters, building structures, repairing vehicles, killing zombies and murdering other survivors. For example, healing/reviving other players could go towards skills that might reduce the time it takes to perform bandaging / defibing / giving an IV/transfusion.. Killing zombies might give experience usable to increase melee damage/speed. I feel like a skill set unique to each survivor that are losable upon death would really add depth to the game. Having killed a lot of other survivors might then unlock the ability to cannibalize, idk.. I just feel like there needs to be more incentive to actually survive.

    Elektro Friendlies

    Just had an encounter in town myself. In a 3 story i was coming down and someone appeared behind me, think it was lag. He just said hello and seemed like a nice guy. I was rolling with 2 rifles, a mosin and sks, and offered the guy the sks and some ammo. He said sure, he wanted to rid himself of the shotty he was carrying. So, i tell him im going to drop it on the first floor, and while im walking down the stairs, he shoots at me. I had just dropped the sks, so i whip out the mosin and we have a little firefight. He cant hit me, for whatever reason, and after a few rounds I hit him and knock him unconscious. I go up to his body and ask if he needs a bandage, then shoot him in the head.. Lesson of the day, treat anyone with a weapon as a potential hostie at all times. Oh, and don't miss when your aiming at a guys back from 4 feet away

    I don't use a car >.< I ride a bike. Really, idk why im arguing with an australian about weapons, as I remember they banned most firearms and now have issues with people making their own. Now, you keep bringing up gritty survival game. Don't you feel that the game is missing an entirely mechanical aspect? What could be grittier than working on an engine for your armor plated go cart and welding a pkm to the top roll rail? Come on nowww. Sure, there is a more primal grit, like cave man style. There will be more throwing items and bows and what not, why not improvised explosives for anti vehicle. Already there are destroyed armor models all over the military zones, why wouldnt there be tank shells or mortar rounds that could be used in a craftable reciepy for a timed explosive, or impact detonated device. That would be pretty damn gritty. Also, when you say straight edge for 15 years, are you saying that you are 15 years old? lol

    Okay, so first ur saying that having the military vehicles sucked..Your opinion, however I know many others who rather enjoyed them. Organized bandit groups in any survival situation would have an advantage, in any situation really, so no reason to bitch about a well organized group controlling a map. Idealy an attack helicopter would take quite a lot of mechanical work and the weapon systems would need to be scavenged, and with the way they intend to have the M4 spawn, it would be rare/extremely rare and also require intensive maintanence. Allowing players to have RPGs and heavy machine guns would help equalize the playing field. Then you call me out for the marijuana leaf, lol. Grow up dude, i bet you drink alcohol, so really what im doing is much safer and "level headed". Go drive off a cliff asshole

    Wow, this is fucking DAYZ, not zombie survival dress up. This is a break away from the mod, and needs this sort of thing. There needs to be explosives and heavy machine guns. This game could use some claymores and IEDs, especially when vehicles are implemented. If there is the possibility of armed or armored vehicles, there needs to be a way to destroy/disable them, and you arent going to be able to do that with sticks and duct tape. Dayz's is rooted in heavily militarized zone, and after the zombie appocalypse, there are going to be armor units and heavy weapons around
  19. Agree with OP, server hopping is going to happen no matter what, and its not a bad thing. Combat Logging is, however, and was pretty much fixed. Just remove the TIMER to join servers, as its completely worthless. I want to play the game, not wait 5 minutes to get into a server. Its pretty much broken, as you can get the 5 min wait by getting kicked, dropping connection, ect.

    Encountering more cheaters. 3 more in the last few days. An ESP sniper and 2 warpers. One of em was invisible and broke my legs then murdered me and a friend. Gotta love high population servers >.<

    Server Notifications

    Listen, before you say "Alpha" I have a suggestion to make regarding Server Notifications. For some reason, I have never played on a server that would NOFITY players of a pending restart. Really, I cant find any reason that a good server WOULDNT have a way to to notify players of an impending restart. It's a bitch when your looting gear, or moving items, or killing bandits and you get the NO MESSAGE RECIEVED indicator that you have just been fucked in the ass by a server restart. I have lost countless amounts of gear because of it. Like just now, when i hunted down a sniper shooting at people in Electro, kill him, go to take his fully upgraded mosin ( AND BECAUSE THE GAME WONT LET YOU TAKE SOMETHING FROM A CORPSE INTO YOUR HANDS), had to first drop my fully upgraded m4 (takes MANY hours these days to get pristine acog and mp stock and handgaurd.. MANY HOURS) and take his mosin, only to recieve the No message recieved and lose both weapons upon joining a new server. Get ur shit together and notify players of an upcoming server restart...

    SKS + LRS glitch?

    So, i found a worn long range scope, and was just thinking maybe i could use it on the SKS i had (with a PU scope on it). I dragged the scope to the rifle spot, above the PU and it showed light blue, like it could be used. Dropped it, then Poof, the LRS vanished while the PU went into my inventory where the LRS was... And no, it didnt drop around me.. ANyone else experience this?
  24. I think it's been made quite clear. At this point and time, all servers are connected to the PUBLIC hive. Therefor using a server to allow only you and a select few to enter and farm gear is against the rules. Either let everyone play, or get disabled. Makes sense, seems like a good way to run things... Might not really be necessary at this point in Alpha, but those are the rules. If you choose not to follow them, you risk the chance of being reported and shut down. What else is there to argue about? Why does this thread have 4 pages.... Move on..
  25. I've seen at least 4 now. Just got killed by one in electro, appeared behind me and cuffed me, then was just running around me, I broke free and chased him but he dissapeared then when i was across the street and behind fences and a wall, he starts shooting, no direct Line of Sight, and kills me. When they make bags permanent, they better perma ban these mongoloids.
