    Arma update nerfed revolver?

    Had no such problem a day ago. Tried playing DayZ today after 1.62 patch and it's all here, 3-4 shots from revo needed etc etc. Had a test on Shooting Range mod just to make sure that it's not DayZ issue. Here are the results: M9 or M9SD: 4 shots to down a guy. G17: 5 shots. M1911: 4 shots. Revolver: 4 shots. Makarov: 7 shots. All of the shots were made like 5-10 tries per gun and in the chest from 5m. So basically 1.62 release patch screwed something over. I was playing 95248 beta since it's release and had no such problem until now. https://dev-heaven.net/issues/38717 - feel free to bump it up with more details ^_^ .

    There is no point nor interest in camping noobs. Out of all bandits (and I'm one of 'em) I doubt more than 1-5% are doing that. I like this random-click protection anyways. After 2 month I managed to kill myself this way once wanting to open video (or sound) options :) . But I really doubt it will help with suicide respawns => server load. Because I already described what I'll do to pick better spawn location after this change goes live.

    All current spawn zones are in the vicinity of some Zs so this change hardly solves any of "server load" issues. Yep, it will take a minute longer than usual to suicide but it's no big deal. If you want to solve suicide respawn problems there should be just one spawn zone. If there are at least two zones people will always try to hop to better one. More spawn zones = more suicides = more server load. TL;DR: announced change = random click death protection. Wanna help server load? Decrease spawn zones number.

    Interesting idea. If this thing against ghosting is really doable I'm sure it deserves "field" testing. To expand on the issue I think it's important to make it so player bases must have some sort of real gates or entrances so it's possible to enter the base if your assault was successful. It's no good if people just surround themselves with sandbags etc and use other servers as exit via ghosting and this radio tower thing as a close\open gate. How to make people have real gates? Few ideas of my own. First introduce some kind of fence other than sandbags and the like which cannot be removed via regular tools. Make it so that only satchel charges and rocket launchers can damage and possible destroy them. But those things should be created only near each other or near the other placeable... gate. This gate should be large enough and with limits of where you can place it so you can't create it near some rock or other inaccessible terrain. So fortress builders can make a camp with fairly good walls, a radio tower to protect themselves from ghosting. But it won't be total safe heaven as people can try to assault their hold and access it through at least one gate or try to blow up some of the walls if they have proper rare equipment.

    Played for few hours at CZ01 yesterday. Nondespawned zombies herpderp. They sound as they are ok but no agro and movements. Well yeah my ghillie is gone too (my friend's camo is not). Got FPS hit after playing for like ~2-3 hours. Everything else seemed fine: loot was spawning, new infected appearing, players dying etcetc :) .

    Omg aren't you being a lil dense here :D ? Of course I'll play on some other server. And of course I'll report this server as it's clearly breaking the rules set for hosters. Admins have no right to kick anybody to restrict access to their server. Why? Stop being dense and come up with few reasons yourself :D .

  12. Unfortunately battleeyeblahblah topic was closed but I really wanted to say something there as well. DayZ is a longterm investment. Not some "let's play it's fun for now". It has real potential because current online games market is oversaturated with casual games the main principle of which is "everything to make it easier". And few projects that tried to be somewhat "hardcore" failed miserably due to bad overall quality. EVE Online is the one exception but it follows "let's make it easy" design for at least 4-5 last years. Basically DayZ has the potential to create a whole near online game genre not just some narrow niche. That's why all those "hacks tralala" things are irrelevant in the long run. Arma2 engine\architecture is not good enough or has bad security? Go for Arma3 and have those things better there. Aim for completely new project where all things can be covered better. Smart guys here fully understand that "arma2 dayz" is just to test different design patterns. We aren't waiting for complete product on arma2 base. We are hoping that most problems can be identified here and now so new project based on same gamedesign can emerge and give us all what we longed for all this time. F*ck em all rocket. I don't really care if this screen is valid or not. Go for the long run anyways and you'll succeed.

  17. Was tent\car cargo wiped again? My car is still in it's hiding place but all gear contents are gone. Everything was there yesterday. Ofc someone may have robbed it... that's why I'm checking here :) .

    [DayZMod] The Dayz Statistics thread!

    Right now on Leaderboards stats are shown on per character basis. Even "all time" ones. Can you show zombies\bandits\murders "all time all characters" as well? Total number of z\b\m kills per GUID not just per character. Would be more interesting that way I think. People often respawn to get better starting location and it shows as "XXX killed" in log. Is there a way to filter out such deaths from their total? Increasing top20 to top100 could be good too. Or a way to check your own stats in some db search by entering GUID or something like that.

  24. Can u make a script that posts warning in chat when server is going to reboot? 5-10mins before it at least. Just now 26 server rebooted when we were in the middle of PvP.
