I agree with you tbf, the northern region of the map is very desolate but then you expect that if you go on the Day Z map on the website, however the lack of signs etc. can leave you stuck up there for awhile if you keep changing directions. around 60% of that was my own doing I admit however being lost for ages, I kept thinking I'll go that way and I'll reach civilization, but then after seeing over the horizon changed directions again... haha.

Kudos first off to finding such a way to fix your own problem :D When you say the internet does not work what exactly does not work you have trouble viewing web pages normally, just the way you described sounds like your internet connection is as stable as a black hole.

Sound's as if your Steam client has been trapped in some sort of process - Have you tried looking for the process in Task manager and ending it from there. Click on the processes tab in task manager to view this. your looking for Steam.exe or something along those lines. Strange enough though this probably isn't much of a solution just curious... since if you restart your PC you would end the process and it wouldn't be there when you booted up again.

Is it all servers you are trying to join doing this? I.E Regular and Hardcore second, have you tried running the experimental patch and joining the servers on there? (Right click DayZ > Properties > go along to the Beta's tab and opt into the experimental patch try joining one of them servers) To downgrade just opt/out of the patch and it will put you back to the original version of the game the stable version. Report back with what happens please :)

The bottom line is something in your computer is telling BattlEye you can't go in here, only I can. I mean that could be various different things it usually indicates you probably don't even have access to those files/folders. Out of interest can you go to [user_Profile] > AppData > browse to the steam directory in their and find the DayZ folder. Once in there, there should be another BattlEye file see if you can delete/move the client/server.dll file. Post back with what you encounter.

Damn, I'm really scraping the barrel here with idea's, another thing that you could try if you already havent was your User Account control settings, Go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Change User account control settings. See what the settings are on, and scroll the bar to Always Notify - This might just pull through the Be client.dll file when you start up your steam application. If you don't see any change from there, I'm completely stuck. Just out of interest have you ever had problems running other multiplayer games for example have you ever played Arma II online? They use the same Anti-cheat I believe.

Yeah, the beginning there not being able to move the file anywhere else, sounds very familiar to what it wouldn't let me do, download something called Rkill (Go to google and type in Rkill) - It's a application removing malware using the command prompt in windows - All I know is it fixes things and probably helped me somewhat fixing my problem, Run that file and wait for it to work its magic. from there on try to run DayZ I also recommend making sure the Steam application as an administrator, and making sure the files have full access privileges in there also. Post back with results, - For anyone reading this thread thinking I'm blabber on about nonsense your probably right I'm just doing the steps that I done and miracuously it fixed my problem D:

Ok, go to your User Account Control settings, and see what it's set too... The reason for this is because I found this fixed my problem, out of interest is it all servers your joining, because I found I could join Hardcore servers but not regular when I got this error message. The top and bottom of it is. Something in your computer is not letting BattlEye have full access to folders and files to detect underlying cheat's in your PC (Even if you have none!) It's a good anti-cheat system but it has some pretty demanding requirements. I suggest checking out the permissions the BattlEye client/Server.dll files have full permissions to write/make changes etc. on your computer. If your still stuck from there. I'm afraid I don't have any more knowledge :/ Sorry If I can't be of anymore help...

Hi, just out of interest if your using Windows 7/Vista, Create a new user profile in windows, set to administrator and then go to your program files steam directory and run the steam application as admin, then try running DayZ, report back with results please.

Hi, It's been awhile since I posted onto this forum in the troubleshooting section - Mainly because I've had no issues up until now... Everytime I seem to connect to a server I'll play the best 20 minutes of it and my DayZ will stop working or the server will disconnect. Whenever this happens I go to start up DayZ again and join a server to find that I'm in the middle of the coast somewhere with nothing but pants, shirt, battery and torch. also shoes etc... now this has happened about 5-6 times now. amgwtflmao

Note, what version of DayZ your playing? Right click DayZ in steam > Properties > Details tab Your version should be 111457 something. I don't know if this is the answer but however I know I had similar problem last night and it was because I was automatically opted (Unknowingly opted into experiemental beta.) and was unable to see any servers apart from the ones on the newer update released.

I have to agree with this thread, there is WAY too much unused space on the map. I don't know the capability of adding more models and buildings than there already is and imaginably anything too big is just likely to cause further performance issues for the server, Which I think most people experience. But I'd like to see some imagination put into some really unique area's, perhaps even ones with references to real life events, movies, characters etc. Possibilitys are endless.

Ok, so your in properties, go to the security tab and change the permissions for that file to have admin rights on all profiles. You do this by clicking edit and ticking allow full control privileges of that file. Apply these settings and see what happens, if that persists still not to work try creating a brand new user profile on your PC with admin privileges and then run steam from the program directory as Administrator and launch DayZ. Report back if that works, that's how I fixed mine. (Sorry my troubleshooting skills aren't very good haha)

Duramens, Go into your steam, right click DayZ and go along to the BETAS tab. Opt out of the experimental beta, and then the program should downgrde itself, Restart steam and DayZ will ask to do another update to bring you back down to version 111457 or something. Hope this helps :)
