Forum Suggestion: Required posts to start a new topic
gopepsi replied to byrgesen's topic in Suggestions
That's stupid. I frequent different forums but I don't post on all of them. I read dayz forums a lot but don't feel like posting as my opinion is often the same as some guys who already posted, so I'll just upvote their posts ; and a lot of people do the same. Minimum number of posts means nothing.. I used to take aprt into count topics.. post count + 1 -
Protest against the new update for night/day being added

Night time is really cool if you have glowtubes and red smoke but I'll never use a flashlight. So yea, night time is part of the game and we have to do with it, but the lack of good equipments yet is not a good move from the last patch. -
I wasn't aware that Dayz was featuring this. So right now, it's a on/off option ? Kinda weird as it totally changes a game.

The first time I played Dayz mod, I really experienced the survival simulation of the game, it felt really good to play. But after the post-excitment if you let the zombies, the loots and the size of the map aside, that's a fps. Nothing in the gameplay is new, and it's even friendly-user compared to arma. I'm not here to trashtalk about Dayz. But then I tried a HL2 mod called Resistance & Liberation, which is a ww2 simulation - so totally out of the topic. In this mod, they came with a totally new gameplay to me, some kind of head/hand desync which I never experienced.. Did you experience this kind of feature with other games maybe ? To explain, if you move you mouse just slightly, your arms holding your gun will move around your screen, but your head will stay still. It might seem to be weird but it feels so great in a simulation, slow paced game. I've made this topic as last patch broke the mouse mouvement in other ways. Mouse movement will be good soon enough, but as shifting to look around, those are not enough for me to feel the simulation as this Resistance and Liberation managed to do for me. So why not try something new, and let the synced screen movement to general fps games ? And bring some desync movemenst with which you will feel your character swing around.

I have a macbook pro from late 2012 and I run Dayz on it through BootCamp. I don't recommand it, as it's not a gaming computer and for it's price, you'll never see a decent balance between texture/render and fps but if you want to play pc games and you're stuck with a mac, that's how you do.

Did your nearsighted character dropped his glasses on his trip to this heli ?

Fix for the Mosin and all other future bolt action rifles.
gopepsi replied to franzuu's topic in Suggestions
This is a very good idea to know if you hit something and for the simulation too. A game called Resistance & Liberation (ww2 simulation fps) separates shoot action and bolt action. Moreover, the reload action is great too as you have to reload each single round, so you have to press your reload key 3 times to reload 3 rounds.. Right now, SA Dayz's mosin reload process looks and feels very bad (not to mention the audio bug when you join a server...), who on earth can chamber 5 rounds in 1.5 sec ? -
I'm playing all my games on a Mac with Bootcamp and dayz runs fine. Install a Win session on your mac with Bootcamp. And don't tell that it's costly, that's a made-up fact. It will only cost you a Win license, if you need one. You can look on tutorials for the rest of the process.
