Great Game, So Far Encountered In-Game Players Not So Great...
AsHawkins replied to Macovzki's topic in New Player Discussion
I haven't played it yet, I'm still learning. But if there arn't non-PvP servers (thank god) why do people ramble on about it. I hope they add construction though. That idea makes me smile. -
Fizzy Drink huh. What side of the map have you been looking?

Great Game, So Far Encountered In-Game Players Not So Great...
AsHawkins replied to Macovzki's topic in New Player Discussion
But isn't it ridiculous that players can't be atleast kicked for killing players in a non PvP server? -
I noticed it happen to a sniper on a clip I was viewing last night, at first I thought he was a bad shot. Now I assume this is what occurred.

Loud, 10 Second Sound On Spawning, Hearable Within ~200M Spawn Delayed By 5 Secs

I am always constructive when I post a disagreement.. But cmon.. This is ridiculous. -
Does that leave your backpack of stuff available to other players to cross?

This is really good! I have really high hopes that they implement a way to grow food, farming would be such a fun asset to DayZ, and if they add Radiation Zones, let it affect the ability to grow crops or not. But to be able to protect your stuff while waiting for it to mature would be a lot of fun. Or really frustrating.

I'm just glad they're finally doing something about the combat logging. It's obviously the biggest frustration among other problems in DayZ, 30 seconds is the perfect amount of time to log out peacefully. No need to shit a brick and close the game just to prevent a free nose job from Dr. Mosin.

Alex looks BLAZED. Ahh to be 13.

I did read this in a russian accent, and for some reason, that made the grammar acceptable. I cannot WAIT to get my hands on DayZ, watching you all play and talk about it kills me, but alas, not yet.. This game is truly amazing for what it is worth, still being in Alpha, and that it only is getting better, it may unlock a whole new genre in gaming.

Let Me Tell You About The Heroes Of Cherno (Dayz Sa Experrience)
AsHawkins replied to helcol's topic in Gallery
They logged out! Ahahaha, fricken pansies. This is the story of courage, commitment, and true bad-assery. Have my beans, and please. Continue the Bandit eradication. -
I do suggest that a sporting goods depot for clothes, ammo, and canteens may be found, but then again, Chernarus seems like B.F.E. anyway so why would a mall or industry be out there? That parking lot idea is brilliant! Have no completely working vehicles but be able to get parts to get one working. Let it be an open area as-well, then you can feel paranoid about being sniped in a second or not. And for f***s sake, Please stop being so ill constructive and just saying NO! Damn!

Map Converted To Island With Various Weather Climates - Images For Example
AsHawkins replied to dashx73 (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
In my opinion, the idea of being on a small continent based off the Idea of Russia, Eurasia, etc. makes the game feel a bit more complete, and when they want to expand, and more land! But what dashx73 did here is amazing, and I absolutely love it. With different climates around the region of the map, you have more to choose from when it comes to choosing a favorite area! And the radiation zone? Awesome! Let's stick some hazard suits in it as well so that you can venture into it, maybe to loot the untouched. Or discover what happened there. This also leaves more flexibility for the time they add boats, ships, kayaks, canoes, yachts, whatever! You get get from one side of the island a bit easier through the water, unless you encounter another boat of Bandits, or see animal. Just think of the content!!! Or just say "no." My opinion won't change anything. -
Homes & The Possibilities Hello DayZ community. I have still yet to play the game, still dying to, but I want to know about it as much as possible before I start. When I was watching videos on DayZ, there were forts, and reinforced houses, and placed doors. Can you build a whole fort? Will someone explain to me what the possibilities are when it comes to building?

Thanks everyone!

Zombie children,Dismemberment,Burns/Scars
AsHawkins replied to stielhandgranate's topic in Suggestions
If you want zombie children. A.K.A. Smaller targets, let's get some crawlers-That don't stand up. Dismemberment would be fantastic satisfaction for snipers, or ax swingers! And it would be awesome to have battle scars, but not permanently, they should be temporary, and heal up. -
This is a brilliant idea, I'm sure vendors may have some seeds to sell, and with the proper materials, you can grow a damn vegetable. And this would help with starvation, but you'd better protect those crops. You know if it's found someone will want a piece. This would implement a whole new chemistry to DayZ. The ability to settle and grow, protect, and EAT.
-
This is coming from someone who has never played, but I would consider going inland, towards the left of the map, but stick to the edges of towns, that way you aren't in the middle of the road, but you can easily get to buildings for scavenging. Find a nice house to settle and build on? Don't get discouraged, just continue on and learn from the damages. People kill on sight, so stay out of it.
-
Really? How about an explanation? Be constructive, not annoying.
-
I think it would add alot of character into DayZ to have people make a real name for their character, instead of Steam ID's, or E-names, you know? Maybe that way it will add a little heart into many who are convinced that character is real person, and won't blast their brains out so quick. Just a thought.
-
I love it, Why waste the rest of the animal when you can make weapons and clothes with the correct materials? It's a difficult implement, but man it would be worth it. It is lame to find an M4-A1 in a cabin with bunk beds, leave it to military areas to have powerful weapons. Let pistols and axes and knifes be found in houses. Maybe a rifle here and there.
-
I think if people would put there weapons away, before walking up to one another, it may help the trust issue. Let me explain what a an approachable person could be. Un-armed.Un-masked.Dressed comfortably. Says he is friendly. (keep an eye on everyone anyway.)Big backpack. (probably has some extra supplies.)Of course there are many more points, but these 5 here are what help me trust. But just because he is un-armed doesn't mean he isn't packing heat, I just mean it's not in his hands and he can't cap you in a second. It's a KoS world out there, and it's because people can't trust. Put your hands up, walk slowly, and ask for supplies, if a weapon is drawn. GTFOut of there, and zig-zag to.

Did I Get Cheated Or Was This Just A Glitch?
AsHawkins replied to xplosive's topic in General Discussion
I was watching a video earlier of this gunfight that was going on by some tents, and the recorder was in the wall, watching the moves of his opponent, and when he had a shot, he stood up (to see over the wall) and took it. People in the comments were congratulating the win. But in my mind I was like,"You cheating motherf-" It's not a hack, but then again, I'm talking about a different tactic here. You said he came out of the wall, I said the guy was looking through it to his advantage. -
Have they considered a time duration before logout? Combat logging is a stupid way to go, and I'm frustrated by it when I don't even play!
