My opinion about KOS and Friendly

but the as50 thermal is to much power for one person, I feel. m107 should be the rarest gun in the game if it is ever brought back, should be one spawn for the entire server list. The gun should be like finding a unicorn in a decaying world. Also the CZ 550 making a comeback would be great!

I'm actually surprised at the amount of good comments this post received. No troll post in sight yet :)

My opinion about KOS and Friendly

I could write another post explaining why I feel KOS is detrimental when practiced on a large scale, but that is not my place to say. I'm grateful that this game is a true survival game, with all the fears of dying, rather than a war game. If there was too much KOS,game would be a deathmatch like Nether. If the game was too friendly (which, in theory, is near impossible due to the fact that people will always kill other people in the survival game) some people would be so bored they would stop playing. (note- this would only happen if the ability to take [away] player vs player, therefore completely destroying the concept of a true survival game) Overall, the one thing I disagree in is a deliberate sabotage of a certain play style. It is like the freedom of speech (U.S. Law), can be used to protect your rights, but can not be used to impose on other's rights . by the way, solodude23, I appreciate the fact that you are backing up my stance, but let me explain myself, I do not need others speaking for me. But, I thank you anyway. B) [EDIT] added "away" sorry did not catch that.

My opinion about KOS and Friendly

Confession: I have never beaten a GTA game I think you did not understand my post, I'm not petitioning to stop player killing, I just want to remind people that there are many different ways to play Dayz (There is no RIGHT or WRONG way to play Dayz), I just wish people could respect the other person's play style. KOS should not be the main point of the game, neither then should any other play style. HOWEVER, survival aspects have to be there, because no matter what play style you have, fear of death should make you want to survive at all cost.

    So About Being Unconcious

This is also a problem in Dayz, People would rather commit suicide then have value in keeping a player alive, however, I can agree if you are unconscious in the middle of the forest in solo play, respawning is a better option.

    So About Being Unconcious

No blood =/= death, no health = death shock > blood = unconscious blood < 500 = unconscious good videos for anyone who is curious how health, or obtaining a healthy status, works in Dayz SA:

Premium loot -- A balanced proposal to "gearing up"

good idea, However, handguns/residential guns should still appear in residential areas. This should only affect military grade guns.
  9. I also like the idea! I will give beans the next chance I get! It is frustrating to find that your character has died and you do not even get to know how he/she died. This would be a little better for everyone! If bad connection, task manager shutdown, unplugged modem, or alt+f4, the game should revert back to the previous 30 seconds blind system.

How many of you can read/write russian?

My friend told me Kamyshovo is actually called Kamiwobo, does that count? In all seriousness I wish I knew how to read Russian, I might be alone on this but reading the signs in this game make me feel like I am someone without glasses squinting at a road sign trying to figure out what it says. The only reason I know towns in SA is by the geographical markers I noticed from playing the mod.
  11. Haven't tried the timer, but I feel like I'll like it as opposed to getting killed by someone who is exploiting and doing things that could count as hacking if the game did not allow it. I would much rather wait five minutes to get on a server rather than die to an exploiter and lose hours of time to someone who either (1) takes all the loot and becomes a loot hoarder (2) suddenly teleports to hell upon entering combat (3) uses a teleportation device to always have the upper hand.
  12. Wait... your going to pull out the realism card when bodies disappear? I'm pretty sure this will be fixed in the future. server hoppers, ghosters, and combat loggers are a much bigger problem then disappearing bodies.

    Blood Bags and The Pen

Good idea! But the amount you can write on it should be limited to one line. It would be a bit preposterous to see paper become obsolete as there are blood bags with stuff written on them covering the ground. XD This should be the result of mixing paper and blood bag, for crafting of course! Also, not sure whether this has been mentioned, but paper with writing on it should be combined with duct tape to allow notes to be posted on a wall. OP, here :beans:

Why DayZ is no survival game

I know there are ideas floating around, but whatever the idea, it needs to be implemented correctly or we'll have another repeat of bad game mechanics (ex: broken karma system, hero kills in self defense, becomes a bandit)

Why DayZ is no survival game

Ok I have an idea that would not involve a skill based system, but would give players more incentive for survival: How about making it so players can craft/cook more things the more their player progresses. Not crafting guns/ammo, but building maybe your own clothes and maybe being able to cook new things. You would still need to collect the correct materials to craft/cook the item of choice. The longer that life plays for, the more that life can craft/cook/(maybe repair) nothing like making combat easier, but giving a player a reason to be alive and stay that way. The crafting/cooking "blueprints" should take a while to earn/progress and should not be overpowered, but provides the player the incentive to stay alive no matter the cost. Also, maybe make a journal kind of like in the Dayz mod, I click action 20 and I can see how many zombies killed/ how many players killed. View able by only the player and It could be cool to do a "Dear diary," for people who are interested in adding to it. Those can later be accessed and read through the main menu (once that life dies), showing the accomplishments a player has set FOR THEMSELVES! This could show how valuable that life was to the player and could give you self respect for those personally chosen goals that were accomplished. If someone were to lie in the diary, it would not matter because it is for them. It is like cheating on a college test (or any test). "The only person you are cheating is yourself." If there is any problem with my idea or flaw to it, do not be afraid to point it out. It helps to communicate.
  16. I checked the suggestion forums for this and I did not see a topic talking about this: Note: This is something that should be considered, but not at the moment! There are more important game mechanics to be fixed. We have all been to that one loot building with a piano in it, right? Some might have wanted to play that piano, but could not. I am not recommending we make only piano's playable, but to add a system that involves the player spawning with different skills in musical instrument use. Let me explain: every time you spawn, you are given a random blood type that will stay with that life. Imagine having a random musical talent that stays with that life. The only way to tell whether you are a terrible pianist or a prodigy on the piano is by attempting to play it, creating an enormous risk. The reward could vary. Ex: tell the person holding you up that you are a musical prodigy, in which case he/she will bring you to a piano to play for him/her. Ex: go to a big city, create a place where people can gather and listen to the prodigy pianist work his magic on the piano. etc. etc. Some people will approach the piano, press a key, and make a horrible sound(common). Some will be able to play simple beginner piano songs (uncommon) . The prodigy (rare) will have the ability to choose from a range of complex songs to play. Benefits: It could lead to interesting occurrences in player interaction, could be used as a trap, or could be a nice moral boost in a post apocalyptic hell. It could also give players another reason to keep that life alive for as long as possible. Fits multiple play styles. Disadvantage: People will find a way to abuse the system if it is not regulated, there are also bigger issues that override this one. One more thing, this will not only benefit one play style, It could range from the pacifist pianist to the psychopath who plays the piano before each kill. It would be interesting to hear the crazy stories this implementation would create. Thanks for reading my post! Let me know if you have any questions/concerns for this that could refine it. Also, constructive criticism please!

    ADD LTL ROUNDS!

I'm surprised people are opposed to this great idea! It could accommodate any play style, People who use LTL rounds just to incapacitate, loot, ad kill their target. It could also be used as a cruel weapon just to break someone's legs and leave them there. It can be used for good, evil, or funny encounters. I'm all for this!
  18. hahaha, funny. (being French myself) Lots of people in Dayz are also "decadent and barbaric" back to the topic at hand: I think people will go to great risk just to bypass any loophole that prevents their character from dying. People want the easy way out! However, they need to be punished because they are breaking a core mechanic of the game. If everyone else must take more time to log on or off to a server, so be it. I'm willing to take longer because it will lessen the amount of combat loggers, server hoppers, and ghosters!

    More weird/supernatural stuff

Love the idea of ghost/demonic presence at devil's castle (Now I know why it got that name!) or other castles, like the Rog etc. Castles all around Europe and other places around the world are really haunted. You can feel it, hard to explain. Adding to the supernatural, I would love to see a gulag in the northern part of the map/on a snowy map. Those things must be filled with supernatural occurrences!
  21. I would also like to add that many people play Dayz for the player interaction, whether it is killing, holding up, forming a group, or being a traitor to the group. The game is far more than just killing everyone you see. Play styles vary and that is why Dayz has been so successful. The fact that players can be whoever they want to be in that life is awesome! :D I'm going to go ahead and say that the random musical skill level thing is a bad idea, I will admit that. However, musical instruments, sport equipment, and other things in that nature are as crucial to adding to the immersion as more gun variety (but not more gun spawns).
  22. I see, as this is only a suggestion, I get slammed for opening my mouth once again. If a sewing kit patch comes out, I will sew my mouth shut!
  23. I died on a server, realized I respawned next to Electro, Thought I could go there to get some supplies and avoid bandits. As I enter the town, I only saw other bambi's searching desperately for supplies too. I was in the middle of the square, between the hospital and the office building, when a women player model wearing a yellow rain coat, a blue motorcycle helmet, and no pants rushed me. he was yelling "THIS IS A NO PANTS ZONE!" as he took swings at me. Not wanting to comply to a mad man using a women player model, I took off my shirt and yelled "THIS IS A NO SHIRT ZONE!" We were in a fist fight and a couple seconds later another female player model approached us, this one actually was a girl irl, So imagine walking into a city and seeing two grown men fighting and yelling what kind of zone the city was (probably face palming or just outright confused). She immediately took the pants less female player model out without question. The no pants zone man began to rant about needing a proper burial and funeral and it was of utmost importance that no pants should be worn there. It was all too funny to see this mad man, unconscious, yelling for everyone to take off their pants. I still do not know why she took the female player model out first, but I'm sure glad she made the right choice. :) Just remember, the next time you enter Elektro, take off your shirt! It is officially a no shirt zone!
  24. These events happened literally a week before the patch that fixed vanishing bodies (To answer your question). I was not mad that the bodies were gone, This life is still the longest life I have had on the SA. This character died when my friend and I met up, we went to the nearest gas station and played gas station roulette. He ended up blowing it up, I ran to his body and tried desperately to use the defib, (i still have never successfully used one in Dayz). Out of nowhere, the gas station decided to blow up again! engulfing my body as I was shocked it blew up again. My guy saved a city with only a fire ax and he died surrounded in the flames of a gas station's explosion. All I can say is: WORTH!
