I for one am sick of getting knocked out in one punch to the head after spending countless hours getting the best gear, am i the only one tired of this?

I think that when you are behind a still player, you should have the option to knockout the person with a hit to the back of the head if you are holding a gun instead of having to switch to a melee weapon to do it if you prefer a less lethal approach. This would increase hostage scenarios, roleplay, etc. . The chance of a knockout using a buttstock would also obviously be affected by the material and quality of it. Here's a small chart of knockout chance: Metal Pristine: 100% Metal Worn: 85% Metal Damaged: 65% Metal Badly Damaged: 50% Metal Ruined: 20% Plastic Pristine: 90% Plastic Worn: 80% Plastic Damaged: 55% Plastic Badly Damaged: 30% Plastic Ruined: 10% Wood Pristine: 90% Wood Worn: 75% Wood Damaged: 60% Wood Badly Damaged: 35% Wood Ruined: 15%

I suggest an option to examine another players' body parts. To check for things like handcuff marks, bruises, scratches, cuts, gunshots, etc. This would increase roleplay alot. If there's one thing that will make you trust someone much less, (assuming you haven't KOS'd him yet) it's seeing handcuff marks and gunshot wounds on him. Just like in real life, examining every body part would be a bit time consuming, so their would be an option to examine each of his/her body parts. Examples: *Examine wrists* "Bob has dark purple handcuff marks" *Examine chest* "Bob has multiple bruises" *Examine arms* "Bob has been shot in the arm" *Examine legs* "Bob has multiple scratches on his arms" *Examine feet* "Bob has swollen feet"

Dean confirmed that once chernar was complete (much later in development) he would start working on a more western map, because that's where he grew up. He also explained that once the game were complete, there would be tools for players to make their own maps.

I don't think you understand what I'M saying. As a person who actually plays the game, I completely understand that anyone could be a bandit. I completely understand how anyone could be friendly. But to me, meeting someone with gunshots leaves me in even more suspicion and wonder, I understand that someone with gunshot wounds could be just as easily a bandit as friendly. However... what if one of your buddies is trying to describe someone but that person has changed clothes or something? He could say "I shot him in the right arm" or something like that. My point is it can not only be helpful by raising suspicion for someone you've just met after hearing a gunfight or something like that, but it would also be very helpful for identifying someone. Here's an example: While wandering around elektro, you and your buddies (Who are heros and prefer not to KOS) hear an entire magazine be unloaded not too far away. You all quickly take cover, you're all armed with mosins. You see a fully geared man run across the streets and loot a dead body, you and your friends surround him and demand he drop his weapon. Being surrounded, the person puts his hands up and drops his weapon and backpack. A couple of you walk up to him while the rest have their guns trained on him. Your buddy handcuffs him and demands he tell you where those gunshots came from. He yells out "He shot me!", after handcuffing him, one of your friends examines him, he has no gunshot wounds anywhere. You weren't 100% sure if this person was a bandit before, but now you are thanks to the *examine arms~examine chest~examine head~ examine legs~examine feet* options.

I really don't understand your logic in saying that the possibility that the person you're checking is a bandit who was just in a gunfight with innocents is pointless. Second, believe it or not, not everyone is the KOS type, try to consider all the different playstyles. You're basing all of your comments on the fact that YOU wouldn't examine someone and muster up the will to wonder what had happened to that person, think about how other people like to play.

1. Just because a player is alive doesn't make checking his wounds pointless 2. It would obviously be a bit time consuming, as I said before. 1. Isn't realism a huge aspect of the game? 2. I didn't say it would "Make you a bandit", i said it would make you look more suspicious

It'd be nice, but it goes against lore.

Just using this as an example, but in rust, the guns echoe for a long time and it makes me alot more fearful when I hear gunshots, I definitely think they should add this in Dayz as well.

Get rid of guns, food, clothes, and drinks. The game is about absolutely nothing other than eating, drinking, wearing clothes, and using weapons, it's stupid.
-
Would increase roleplay, yes.
-
Is definitely a good idea, just not this early, maybe in late alpha or even beta.
-
It's a wonderful idea, but it wouldn't fit with this game. This has been mentioned several times in attempt to make the game significantly easier and less enjoyable. I do know that there are coming updates that will allow DayZRP servers, which will be the solution to those who don't like being KOS'd.

Swimming should have some pretty negative effects depending on if it's a cold area or not. I mean i'm pretty sure some of the areas on Chernarus are pretty cold and being drenched in water would be pretty harmful in real life. Also...Shouldn't rain be somewhat damaging? I'm not talking about 'acid' rain or anything like that (even though I get the impression Chernarus is heavily radiated), i mean it should make your clothes damp and lead to sickness to some degree in the colder areas of the map.

Ideas to make Chernarus feel more Eastern European

Stereotypical? How about all players getting hungry, thirsty, or sick? Wow what a stereotype...Not all people are the same! -
Way more than 10%...60% would be more realistic. Have you forgotten that the game revolves around getting shot, stabbed, cut, and ripped to shreds by zombies?
-
It seems everyone that has read this is in support of the idea, just not in support of the reactions from non-players the game will receive.
-
I would be in full support of this if people didn't get so butthurt by things like this. However, i'm not in support of this due to the fact that I don't want to see this game get banned everywhere. Pros: That would make a hell of a news article-It's more realistic-Would definitely make a good 'family' gaming experience Cons: Lawsuits-The game would become one of the most controversial & infamous games in history-Every news station in the world would be bashing the game- Children would still get KOS'd-They would have to be extremely underpowered to make up for the smaller hitboxes In conclusion: The developers are smart enough to know that enhancing gameplay to this level isn't worth the lawsuits ahead.

If chernarus was a desert wasteland instead of an island, this would be awesome.

How does everyone feel about different gamemodes? By this i mean basic team deathmatch modes, or capture the flag, or even some kind of infection mode?
