Dayz may have melted my gtx560m

Yes, it made no difference. I even reported this fact in my issue report on the bug tracker.

Dayz may have melted my gtx560m

Well, I reported this on the feedback tracker (http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=22413), but I don't have much faith anything is going to get resolved. I've also attempted to play DayZ on my integrated card at 50% rendering resolution, but as you might imagine it looks and plays like total shit. This is so frustrating and disappointing. DayZ is my favorite game and now I cannot even enjoy it.

I will do that, thanks for the suggestion! Also, your avatar is so cute! xD

Dayz may have melted my gtx560m

I have a Toshiba laptop with a (dedicated) GeForce GT 540m and integrated Intel graphics (Optimus technology). After one of the recent updates (0.53, I think), DayZ will no longer run on that dedicated card, I keep track of whether or not my games are running on my GT 540M with the NVIDIA GPU Activity monitor in my taskbar. None of my other games have this issue. I am also lost without DayZ. Are you sure that DayZ is just not running on your dedicated card (the GTX 560m)? Have you tried other games?

Can't See or Hear Direct Communication

Yay, guys! Enabling my laptop's busted built in mic fixed it!

Can't See or Hear Direct Communication

If this is the case then you are a lifesaver! I'll try activating the malfunctioning built in mic tomorrow when I'm not so tired. I'll check this as well. Hopefully my problem will be fixed. Thanks guys!

Can't See or Hear Direct Communication

I've never had trouble in any other games hearing mics, I've had no trouble hearing them in Skype or TS either. What I have tried so far for DayZ is messing with the audio settings (everything looked okay) and verifying the game cache. Even if something was up with my audio settings or my laptop (which handles all of my games with no problem usually), how would that effect the written direct communication as well? Like I said, I can see what I type into direct chat, yet I cannot see what others say.
  8. Since I started playing DayZ SA I have been unable to read or hear others' direct communication. I can, however, see what I type into the chat and others can see what I type. I do not use a mic at the moment, I play on a laptop and the built in mic is broken so I have it disabled. Any ideas?
