So the stat is better the lighter the shade of green? edit: I believe this is just after getting hit once or twice by a zombie. I wasn't bleeding, but I noticed I'd begun healing.

=) Pristine.

I think they also seem to have added damaged item textures for items in inventory. So if you have a damaged med kit, it looks damaged in your inventory. (I think)

Haven't seen the sks yet. It's ruined. Found it in these things.

If you like dying, come to BEREZINO.

I think I noticed a balota book club server last night, I suppose it pertains to that? -
hahaha ouch. Good advice, thanks. Oh cool, I didn't realize those statuses were on the way with the new patch. Just found this - here : http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1wl4w0/energized_and_hydrated_status_added/ "How many batteries do you currently have to lick to get the "energized" status? I hope they balance it a bit, to discourage killing fresh spawns to get them." - volx1337 lol

Character deleted, starting back at the beach

After I learned the differences between the servers, I haven't had a problem. Once and awhile I'll hit a server not on the hive or a hardcore by accident and have a minifreak out. Log out immediately and find one I'm used to, and all my stuff is back. -
How often do you die from glitches?
cpo1bishop replied to infiltrator's topic in New Player Discussion
Until recently, until I learned how to avoid it, all the fucking time. Pretty much as soon as I found x luxury item I was searching for, poof, I'd find some stairs to fall off of, or a wall to walk through, or a ladder to jump over, etc. -
I feel like someone is watching me.. wtf?

"No," said the old man, "that's just perfectly normal paranoia. Everyone in the Universe has that.” -
I pictured this written in crayon and transcribed by a slightly distracted stuffed animal.

Mouse acclertation. Can it be turned off?
cpo1bishop replied to bioned's topic in New Player Discussion
it seems a little complicated, however this worked out really well for me. http://donewmouseaccel.blogspot.ca/2010/03/markc-windows-7-mouse-acceleration-fix.html Stole from previous posts, I'm too lazy to go back to figure out who deserves credit. -
Tips needed from those who are good at the game
cpo1bishop replied to dayy's topic in New Player Discussion
There are a few underused guardhouses sorta in between Balota and the NWAF I like to use when travelling between the two. I usually end up getting more gear from them than I do either air field. One on the east side of Kamenka or Pavolov (sorry I can't remember which one) on the southern tip of Zelenogorsk, and one east of Kabanino both of which have a couple barracks I believe. And there's one that you can't miss if you look up while you're travelling almost directly at the halfway point between the two, no barracks at that location, great view though. edit:corrected location -
That was actually going to be my first recommendation. ala (edit - pertinent info around 1:47)
-
Yeah, there are quite a few guardhouses all alone by themselves, separate from any major compounds or towns, and only one of them does not have a couple barracks buildings around. I'm used to finding them completely untouched.

WHY ARE YOU KILLING PEOPLE FOR NO REASON? -.-"

You answer your own question, inside the question. You feel unhappy because you lost the cool items. How long till you're willing to kill for them? -
Is The Ship Still A Glitchy Death Trap?
cpo1bishop replied to G-lens's topic in New Player Discussion
fell off the steps leading up to the main deck back down into the hold to my quick and enevidible death. -
Been playing for about a week or so and I've found so many ways to die that don't involve zombies, or other players I have a talent that must be shared. Useless suicide after getting kitted up number 5: Riding the high of just having found a 556 suppressor on the bottom floor of the control tower and the magpul stock in the nest, I end up falling backwards off the ladder leading up the wall of the control tower at Balota, in a moment of indecision attempting to back down it (Useless suicide after getting kitted up number 4). Truly beginning to understand the meaning of despair found in the words "You are dead". The sound of waves gently washing against the shore, I find myself spawned I assume south of Solnichniy in a state of utter denial trying to convince myself the pristine mountain back pack full of packed ammo boxes and assorted supplies should have somehow broken my fall. .... QQ As I'm one of three people who've occupied the server for the last little while, and I figure I'm just south of Solnichniy, I decide to head north to the construction zone looking for a mountain backpack (almost always the first piece of gear I actively seek out). After stuffing myself at the well passing through Solnichniy, I wander through a couple warehouses keeping an eye open for a hacksaw and come across one without really altering my path north towards the construction site. As I'm walking up the southern most stairs at the site, success, a tattered ugly orange mini backpack as I'm heading up the stairs! A fire axe at the top of the stairs, and what's more, a pristine blue mountain backpack on the roof on some bricks!!! Back down to the bottom level and into the room on the south side, I find a 20 round 556 magazine. +1! OK, off down the school/clinic whatever you call it, on the southwest side of Berzino, looking for a firearm of some kind. I find the top floor room has already been picked over, and some evidence of pack rearrangement left behind, an empty shotgun clip and a pair of pristine runners. On my way out I decide to take the ladder on the west side of the building to avoid the zombie milling around to the east, and overcome my fear of ladders, and find a shotgun on top of the roof! -1 Hacksaw +1 Sawed off. XD I decide to avoid the well to the west, the site of what I now consider to be useless suicide number 2. (at the time I didn't think standing still while someone running towards me repeatedly yelling friendly while wielding an axe was suicide) Off to the cargo ship stopping over at the gas station hoping to try to find a map. I've tried a couple times to find the north airfield, always at night, I've gotten used to getting lost pretty much after heading NW from the ship, compass or not. (I recently discovered that with your inventory open you can use your compass regardless of light levels!) Nothing at the gas station. Headed off to the ship. Once aboard I immediately headed up to bridge to find.. absolutely nothing. Circle around up to the top, and a holster is waiting for me. Down from the top on the starboard side, I find a FNX45 on the bridge level deck outside. Feeling pretty lucky and a little antsy as I notice there are a few more people on now. I decide rather than taking a bearing in the light of the ship and attempting to find Krasnostav, (previous attempts found me wandering in a canyon between huge impassable walls of rock to a place where no trees grow and all the roads seem to end.) I'd stick to a road. I should mention at this point, finding food and water along this route is a give in and not really worth mentioning, there's no shortage of supplies on the way so I generally only carry a screw driver, two cans of food and two beverages. Picking up any canteens or water-bottles I find with significant enough contents. As well by now I picked up a pair of ruined cargo pants and a red hooddy, which were quickly replaced by a green raincoat and a pair of summer hunters pants, found along the way with no real effort. I generally don't go into houses, with the exception of the house with the piano which sometimes has some random ammo on the shelves near the stairs. And sometimes wandering into those barns with opposing stairs leading to the lofts, which one should navigate carefully lest one slip off the side and plummet to their death (Useless suicide after getting kitted up number 3). I figured out the shipwreck is actually much further north than I first though, and found my way north to Olsha with relative ease. Oh! I forgot to mention I found a NE map in one of the cabins aboard ship. Having a look at the map, the road I took into Olsha loops back around SW towards the airfield. As this road turned south I continued heading SW right into a perimeter fence. I spotted the silhouette of guard tower a little ways out but didn't have to adjust my trajectory all that much. I quickly check the player base to see that all of the players that were on before had been replaced by some guy called Eric. Feeling confident the gods didn't place Eric on the server to hunt and kill me, and most likely wouldn't be in the same area, I abandoned a degree of caution to flip on my torch to try to find a hole in the perimeter fence. Making my way across the runway it's light enough to tell there are plenty of zombies swaying around outside the front of the hangars my hopes of loot become raised, and I flip to the player list again to notice Eric is still off in some unknown location braving the hordes alone. I see the door on the guard house is still closed, and my excitement builds, I skip it entirely and head straight for the tower. In the nest I find a worn M4 CQB Buttstock and add spray-paint to the mental checklist. Check the player list. No one. Check the clock. It's 4am. wow... giggle like a mad clown. Head outside and round the tower to find a pristine M68 CompM2 Optics, added to the ACOG I find on the roof a few moments later, and I'm feeling pretty lucky. After very nervously trying to find the ladder activation to get off the roof, I take the stairs back down avoiding the other, more hated ladder. So now all I need is a frickin rifle to put all these fancy attachments on! In the first hanger, a pair of boots waay off in the back corner and nothing else. In the second hanger an M4. =) And way at the back almost against the wall, a FNP45 MRD!!! Very pleasant surprise, I wasn't aware the 45 had attachments. Found a worn UK flack and enough ammo to make me feel safe in the guard house, and decided to not try my very good fortune much further. Checking the player list, I notice some new people and decide to head north, and then west to try to find the devils castle. I head out into the bush and log to take a break, feeling pretty happy about replacing what I had and finding some new exciting stuff. After a few hours I find a low ping server with a couple people on, one of the few it's daytime, and start making my way west towards the ruins. After a couple of minutes of heading west trying to follow the hill upwards to it's peak I stumble upon some ruins that are much closer than I expected the Devil's castle to be. A single tower and a collection of ruined walls. I find some stairs on the side which lead up to a point I have to vault into the stone keep off the scaffold like stairs. Inside I find stairs cut into the stone which I follow to the top of the tower. Although there was no loot to be had, the view was spectacular. I decide I want to try to find the fabled NW airfield. I quickly tried to orient myself running to each battlement trying to match the landscape to the map. Finding a town in a specific direction, and then trying to find another town to confirm. As I'm running towards the battlement preparing to open my compass I notice I'm in midair, and falling. You are dead

Keep walls aren't as solid as they seem.
cpo1bishop replied to cpo1bishop's topic in New Player Discussion
Hahaha, I thought I was doing pretty good for having been playing for a week. This was a day or two ago. I'm much more use to the dimensions and distances. Found the NW airfield and I'm mostly kited out now. -
I only server hop on to those that promise to kick me. Is that wrong?
-
I've found if you log crouched on a second story you will some times find yourself dropped through the floor. Try switching weapons while running at a wall inside building that leads to a room that's accessible.

Under user interface there is a resolution setting with windowed mode availible at the bottom. I have mine set to 1920x1080. In addtion on the main menu there is a Rendering resolution setting, which I also have set to 1920x1080.
-
It was a long shot, but worth a try. I'm also using win 7 64bit in 1920x1080, so no problem there. It almost sounds like something else is stealing focus. I can't think of anything else, I just starting playing a few days ago myself. Mouse / Drivers maybe?

I've experienced something like this in another game; a game controller the game didn't recognize was responsible, unplugging it while playing that title worked, for it. Might be worth a try if you have joystick or something else the game is interpreting incorrectly? Are you running the game in at you're cards/monitor native resolution?
