Didn't get a chance to try the rest out last night. Internet was down (gotta love AT&T) but it's on my actual errand list for tonight haha.
-
I've got a sawn off with about 20 shells. If no one gets you that reset info in the next 6 hours or so, I can try it when I get off work.

Ballistic helmet + gas mask = not compatible. Why?

Just make sure the signature does't clip your post, or they'll remove it. *rimshot* *cough* *crickets* -
I gravitated to playing a private UK server recently. In every game I ever played online, British players, (usually kids) would just sling insults and racial slurs at me for no reason. But in this server, I have yet to meet a single mean minded player. 2 Days ago I was held up by gun point by a player 1-2 minutes after spawning. He had a Mosin, Cowboy hat, wool coat, and cargo pants. My mind was telling me to just punch him. Who robs bambis? I decided to talk it out and see where it went. Turns out he had never done a full blood transplant and wanted to see how it works, so I agreed to help. For bleeding me dry, he gave me a Longhorn, ammo, and some food, The friendliest experiences are still my favorite ones.

What gun was your first shooting kill with?
o5pr3y (DayZ) replied to Heatofbattle's topic in General Discussion
Fully kitted M4. Wet bandit hunting on the coast. Followed a fully geared guy from Solichny to Kamyshovo. Watched him kill a bambi and try to kill another one. I sneaked out of the concealment of the woods, put a bead on his chest and let out a burst. Still haven't found a rush that big in any game ever. -
Few weeks ago I decided to join a random private UK server. I also decided to be uninhibited and friendly to everyone. Out of the dozen or so people I met, only 2 tried to kill me. We all shared loot, food, helped each other gear up, gave blood, and all went our separate ways. It showed me how friendly the game really can be.

My friend died in a really strange way

Your buddy was too busy RP'ing an 80's guy that he forgot to cure his Boneitis. -

Fire and smoke giving away your position?
o5pr3y (DayZ) replied to Old_Crow_Whiskey's topic in General Discussion
Well this reassures me.. For now. I was making fires to warm up inside sheds and out of the way nooks and crannies for fear that someone would see it. -
That's what my liver is for. Unless, of course, you listen to Mercola, Food babe, Alex Jones, etc.

Needing Charcoal tabs to vomit. Why can't I just shove my finger down my throat?

Been thinking about carrying around a diary that I can add stuff too. Like a diary of the zombie epidemic taking hold and survival afterwards. Just hope whoever kills me actually reads it.

"I didn't abandon DayZ, I fell off Bohemia and landed in my new company by accident!"

True, and I guess we can both be right in this regard. You can live with spinal injuries, it's just that people tend to die from them.
-
There's also a video of them doing MoCap for the zombies, and they mention ones with broken backs and necks. Kind of hard to live through a broken neck or spine. I'll see if I can find the video and repost it here. Edit: Found it, Skip to the 11min mark or so. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uYtxkrMg5k

I do agree with most of your post, but someone hasn't played Spec Ops: The Line or Pathologic. ;)

How do you manage your real life and DayZ at the same time?
o5pr3y (DayZ) replied to john5220's topic in General Discussion
Lots of time budgeting. I work full time and have to take it home sometimes. I'm the Site Supervisor for Security at a Johnson & Johnson manufacturer, and my weekends are spent playing/managing a tournament paintball team. I only get to play DayZ for about 1-2 hours a day if I'm lucky. Most of the time I get to play it when my girlfriend is asleep or if she's playing a single player game. We spend some of our off time in the same room, playing separate games, and occasionally bugging each other while doing so, (ie tossing the dog's toys at my head while I run from zombies). -
Whats the first thing you do when you spawn at the Beach?
o5pr3y (DayZ) replied to john5220's topic in General Discussion
Depends on my mood. Maybe rip off my clothes and run around talking to people with a Borat accent, or loot the nearest buildings as I head inland. -
You look like Joseph Merrick in combat gear.

Don't worry man, it's actually normal to walk in circles when you're in unfamiliar territory or in the wilderness. It's easier to stay straight when following a sidewalk or trail because it's something to guide us. The study below even mentions that simply having the sun out can help gives us direction when walking. http://news.sciencemag.org/2009/08/why-we-walk-circles

How was everyone's DayZ Christmas?

Watch out man. You'll shoot your eye out. -
Witnessed everything DayZ can be to a new player and it was glorious.

Either way sounds like a fun moment. I no longer get annoyed with dying it was entertaining. I just hate the random KOSer's head shot as I eat my food in a building, sitting in the corner, in a state of paranoia. -
To be fair though, that's also assumptions. Albeit very safe assumptions. Most times for me when they spawned in nearby, they were already facing me, which is why they saw me. The only way to test it is to have a zombie spawn in, right on the spot where you see it pop in, then test the hearing/sight, etc

I tend to do that voice a lot when I feel like messing with players. I never ran at someone with a sledgehammer though, so this definitely wasn't me. I did recently chase a guy with a few friends, who was shooting new spawns on the coast though. All the while shouting in his voice as we tried in vain to beat him with our fists.
