Yeah, you can catch Hypothermia from the cold. Haven't cured it yet, but I'm assuming you just have to get dry clothes on and hang out next to a fire for a bit.

Stereotypes and player profiling exist, but even more so when you're baiting evidence to make the outcome you want. You're standing there, in all black, with multiple weapons, flipping the bird. You're trying to instill the idea of you being a bandit. If I saw you, I wouldn't shoot you outright, as I never KOS, but I'd give the town a wide berth while you're in it. If you approached me, I'd act cautious around you and would probably just try end up trying to make friendly contact. For all I know, we could go bandit hunting or gearing up together.

This is happening to one of my chars in a private server. It's dry, but I logged him out during the rain, so he logged in wet and got hypothermia.

For the most part, I agree with you. That video is pretty accurate to what I've experienced, as I always sneak around town. I a,m curious how they were able to confirm freshly re-spawned zombies for their testing though. Seems almost impossible to confirm.

i used to swear by the SKS until I started using the shotgun. 90% of people can't hit the broad side of a barn from 10 feet away (me included) so the shotgun is perfect. Especially because I tend to play alone and stick to towns.

Decided to be friendlier to everyone I met this past weekend. Normally I tend to avoid people, or approach them cautiously, Only KOS'd by 2 out of the 14 people I met this weekend, as opposed to the usual 100% of people who try and attack me outright or lower my guard before making their move. All were in Berezino and Novo. Saved someone from zombie attacks, teamed with another guy to find and take out a coastal sniper, helped a few guys gear up then parted ways. At one point the game crashed and left me standing out, vulnerable to a kid who was playing with me. He was unarmed except for a pickaxe and raincoat. I had an SKS and Axe, with some decent clothing. When I spawned back in, I was wearing his raincoat and had no SKS, but he did give me a ton of food and a med kit. At one point I even caved into temptation and was about to KOS someone I heard in Novo's big municipal building. But once I got there, they said hello and I immediately felt guilty for my original intentions. They even gave me a derringer. Faith in DayZ's humanity is a bit restored.

That's kind of disheartening. I tend to use the compass a lot. Well this game taught me not to trust players, guess I can't even trust my gear...

Spawned in Khelm, and looted it. Moved north and looted the airstrip, Krasnotav, and the outlying villages and misc buildings. Got fully geared before I even saw a player, but have yet to see any zombies. Been lingering around that area for a bit, getting all the gear I need, but in 4-5 hours, I have yet to find a zombie. Anyone else having this issue?

What ever the reason was, it must be fixed now., got killed by a new spawn with an ax this morning and as soon as I spawned in Berezino, I got swarmed by zombies. Never thought I'd miss their sounds lol

Maybe it should be a locked slot unless you use a rope to craft a sling for your melee weapon.

That's very true, and I bet most people would be fine with the option.

I do the same thing when I get bored of just surviving alone. I have more fun watching people in Elektro and Cherno through my scope than I do shooting at them. I still have yet to ever KoS anyone without watching them attempt to murder or harm someone else. Just the other night I saved a freshly spawned bambi from 2 Zombies in Svetlojarsk, then slinked away into the forest so he couldn't find me. (I'm still paranoid and cautious of people lol).

I love Shrub! He's like the polar opposite of KoS on here, (that guy still makes me laugh too, though!) I'll make sure to save any Alice in Wonderlands in case you lose your current one.

I found the old Ambient tracks a bit intrusive. Great for Single players games, but not so much for multiplayer, when I need to hear footstesps and the environment to survive. if I do need music though, I tend to listen to this track, (Metro 2033 theme), as it has an alone, desperate, despair feeling. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meIdR-qfagE

I went into the huge Town Hall-ish building in Novod and found 2 of the new shotguns, revolver, 1911, crossbow, Mosin, and sawn off mosin on the same floor, in 2 rooms next to each other. I didn't know which one to take haha

Yeah looting is weird. Went into a large building, (also won't say where) and found 2 shotguns, a Blazer, sawn off mosin, normal mosin, 1911, and magnum in 2 rooms next to each other. Only complaint I had was figuring out which to carry.
