Hi guys, I have been off day z for a few months vowing not to play til they fix the zombies jumping through walls thing. Said at the time appreciate we are in alpha but this particular bug drove me nuts - is this fixed yet? I cant even face loading the game if this is still going on! :) I totally expect the "it's alpha dude get over it what did u expect?" thing so bonus points to whoever gets in with it first :) sorry if this has been covered elsewhere are on the forums. I am gonna brave it and see how I get on, might find myself rage quitting for another 6 months though!

It just frustrates me that something I consider so fundamental to the realism of the game has not been sorted, but they are fixing animations and adding new crafting/new weapons etc. I would find it cool if a zombie could smash doors or windows making it not totally safe to hide out in a building but the clipping is a massive issue in my opinion. Its all well and good saying just hit it with an axe or similar but when you aint got one its a pain in the arse.

I have been impressed by the way day z makes you think about your actions. The other day I killed for the first time. I was typing a message to a friend on stream when my character starting making noises. I got back into game and some guy was punching me for no reason so I had to shoot him (I have no issue with this kill). 10 min later, I was running down a road in a town and came across 3 guys all running towards me about 100 m away with guns out. I jumped behind a building and then poked my head around the corner to see them stood in the road about 50m away looking around. they looked threatening so I shot one of them and he died. The other two ran away. I did not go near the body because I feared a trap/reprisals. What is everyones view on the morality of this? I probably could have run away/hid, and have pondered this since it happened. They did seem to be a significant threat however...how would you have dealt with this situation?

can anyone tell me the difference between harcore and regular? Also I have somehow managed to play both without noticing any real difference - only issue is I now have two different characters, one when i join hardcore and one when I join regular - is this normal and is there anyway of preventing this?

Yeah i was gutted the other day I went to Tescos and couldnt find a notacola classic anywhere...

just to note I have now starved and am back in the game thank goodness - this is a stupid bug... Incidentally within 2 min of me spawing I managed to find a kiddies backpack and an axe, only for some fully tooled up arsehole to kill me - i didnt even run because I didint want to give him the satisfaction of chasing me down!

I am now also having this issue - have tried a few fixes as described above and in other posts - have changed servers, changed name, left it a while to see if I can spawn etc - Only thing I can do now is play hardcore and hope to god it doesnt happen again - this is a a massive load of shit, and whilst I understand the alpha situation, and I agreed to it when I handed over my £20 I expected to be able to play the game in its basic/somewhat glitchy state. To be in a position where you cant even spawn and run around, frankly deserves my 20 quid back :) if anyone has found a fix for this then give me a shout - thanks in advance. p.s. heart goes out to the dude who cant even connect to his own server - that sucks massively.

if someone could post a reply soon cos I am sat looking at "you are dead" but cant do anything about it and my characters occasional sighing/shuddering/gurgling noise is kind of turning me on...

is this seriously the only fix for this? leave it on overnight? this is stupid!!!! I was playing dayz, jumped into quite a nice deep bit of sea off a jetty, hit the bottom, heard a crunch and could crawl around like I had broken my legs, then said dead, cant click respawn it is greyed out. Some ppl said try joining a new server but this doesnt work - just means I get to look at the spawning countdown timer repeatedly (as an aside what is the point of this? surely to avoid combat logging there should be a timer to leave the server you are in, not when you join a new one? but alas I digress...) When I finally get in the new server I can crawl around underwater a bit but then it just says I am dead again but cant spawn!!! still get the stomach grumbles msgs etc and can look in my inventory... I understand the whole alpha thing but surely there should be an instant outright kill button to sort out this kind of massively frustrating glitch? Anyone got any answers other than wait to starve? and if not does this def work? thanks ps Iove this game but it is as brutal and frustrating as it is amazing and I am not sure I can cope with the stress! KoS has got me a few times which i accept is part of the game but sitting looking at a u are dead screen and not being allowed to respawn is so annoying!!!!

sorry if this has already been posted. My character seems to want food all the time - if it was real life he would need a nap or be overweight. In teh space of 10-15 min he needed food so much, I ate 1.5 tins of spaghetti and two gobfulls of powdered milk - am I doing something wrong here? Does sprinting increase the hunger at a faster rate than walking or is there some magic combo of food that means u can eat less often? dude needs food more than drink which just seems strange to me...

I am a pussy... i run, always run, never talk and if the situation calls for it I will put someone down...I am probably missing the point because if I interacted then funnier/more interesting stuff would happen, and I might make some new friends but at the moment I am just happy to be alive and explore without some fucker killing me so I run!!!

I may be just being a dick but it really annoys me when people do the whole "dean didnt want whatever" or "rockets vision is so and so" hes not your mate, you dont know, you are re-hashing some interview shit like you know him and its soooo lame!!!! It is always used to shout down peoples genuine suggestions for what they think will be good in the game - why dont people fashion their own opinions instead of rehashing some bullshit someone might or might not have said at some point? p.s. let me guess dean wouldnt have wanted people to act like me in his game or on this forum yeah? it wasnt part of his vision...

nope. I said I knew it would get people in a flap, that said it is something that I genuinely believe is lame - i.e. shouting people down with the "Dean says" line when they are simply making a suggestion, and I thought it would be worth a discussion...

I have not been on the forum long and have literally seen this 5 million times..... hyperbole always happens. fact. hyperbole is sweet. I like to say it hyperbowl though if im honest...hyperbowl
