True, but 3 separate people couldn't kill him? Multiple clips? Just seems fishy.

It is total bullshit that you got tricked, but don't assume that people such as myself would do the same thing.

Rewarding players for actually staying alive and surviving.

The OP's ideas are full of "yes". -
I find it depends on the alpha's mood: sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

If I ran into someone that generous, I'm not sure how I would react: either do "epic-in-game-high-five" or run away screaming "it's a traaaaap!"

In your hands? Is that what you mean?

Random Zombie, Eating/Drinking Sounds.
sacrdandprofne replied to Shrapnel (DayZ)'s topic in Troubleshooting
Yup. Been on a high-populated server and heard what sounds like 20 zombies half-growling. Unnerving. ;) -
There's no reason to go to the NWAF or the north anymore (here's why)

Also true. -

Nope, no difference. Just as risky. -

I agree with you, but for a slightly different reason. I and my friends had found a very small town just NE of the NWAF; wasn't on the map, had decent loot, no one was ever there. Perfect home base. We'd gear up and jog to the airfield everyday (sometimes dying ;) ), and it worked. Now, however, the small town has been expanded quite a lot and is becoming a hotspot. Add in the higher traffic at NWAF, and my freshly-killed character (goodbye, week-long spawn :'( ) is debating the point of running for another hour to get there, and for the same result. Basically, this is my verbose way of saying "It's getting old: come on, larger map!" -
Easy and simple idea on how to tackle combat-logging issue

I'm not talking combat-logging; I'm talking "normal" logging. 5 minutes just seems extreme. -

Holy overkill! Why should everyone be subjected to having to find someplace 5-minute-timespan remote just to log off? -
Are they breaking DayZ as we know it?
sacrdandprofne replied to Insannik's topic in General Discussion
Yes, but that's where "more zombies" comes in. Not so boring when you're constantly running into hordes. -

Thank you!Perhaps devs are trying to steer the game away from the nu-CoD game it's becoming? Less tactical gear and more zombies means less hiker-hunting and more surviving. -
less militarised more improvised

The players of DayZ Ruin the game
sacrdandprofne replied to notofthiswar's topic in General Discussion
It's true. I've only accumulated about 30 hours on this game and, so far, that's usually how my spawn bites it. We'll hang out in our crew's favourite small town, get some supplies, wander around... then we'll get bored and head to other towns to look around... then we'll get really bored and purposely head to Cherno or an army base... ...and then I wake up on a sunny beach. :D No, I don't die that quick; I'm just making an example. Staying safe "on base" gets old; you have to run around. By running around, you run into others. -
I wouldn't be against this either, although it'd be a progamming nightmare. Winter would definitely change the game, but would make it nearly impossible. All water sources frozen? Not fun.

PS: no, I wasn't complaining about KoS'ers. -

I don't know about anyone else, but I have a slight suspicion that KoS instances may decline the more zombie numbers are increased. If every town has a horde, and maybe even the percentage of zombies in the countryside increases, players will be more occupied with surviving rather than hunting hikers. -
