The OP is right on this point; there is no difference between a fresh spawn and a veteran player other than the gear. There's nothing like skills or attributes that will make you feel compelled to survive to not lose something other than just gear. In other words there is no character development in a nut shell. I think I read somewhere that such elements will not be introduced though I could be wrong.

Are the spawn points for items supposed to be more distributed for houses? I see smaller houses that aren't brick houses still have little or nothing to loot all the time thus I still run for brick houses for items. -

Not me. I expect to lose my gear at any time because this is alpha and I won't grieve over it but we should ask questions about why it happened then if there is progress to fix it. -
Don't get attached to your gear and dying is fun. Once I die I explore some options about how to ambush armed players to get regeared

After everyone has got their firearms they head back to the shore. If they die they may stay on the shore trying to loot bodies to find a weapon or jump someone who has a gun. Ultimately they go back and get weapons and the cycle repeats

It's an endless cycle. They want to kill you to get your stuff to kill someone who just killed them

Well the potential to be great is far better than for it to fail miserably. $30 is not a lot of money; I could have done worse. Not dining out once a week saves me $30 already. The amount of entertainment I can get from this for $30 is far better than say a movie and some other games. But anyways, if you're willing to pay $30 now then you shouldn't be upset at all that later the game is cheaper in 1 or 2 years. Do I think it's worth it now? Probably not until there is more content and a lot more zombies and threats in a few months than another person with a gun pointed at me on the road by the shore. I am eager to see how much content there is by summer time. -

There's hardly any zombies to pose as a serious threat and plus they have no loot so there's no reward. Until the day when zombies will actually dangerous in numbers and players have a hard time finding ammo KOS is probably what most people will do for now.
