Basically like Evil Minion said, KOS is not a win-win situation and involves a lot of risk. Who said you will kill (hell, even hit) the other player on first shot? The hunter can easily become the hunted and that's part of the beauty of this game. If DayZ ever starts actively encouraging any playstile, I will probably just stop playing it.

Hell, I`d even have the same wound texture for every gun, just to see some blood additions in DayZ

I stopped reading here. The beauty in the game is that there is nothing encouraged\discouraged. You have the world, you have other players, survive the way you see it right.

Maybe even randomize the dead folks (and other horror elements) on server restarts, kind of like they do with the loot in a way. One time you go into the house and you have some dude decomposing in the kitchen, and on a different server\after restart the room is clean.

Maybe we should make a separate thread for spawning fresh with friends. People just see the first post and instantly say its a terrible idea

You probably should have phrased the title differently, but yeah, if the ambient sounds came from actual sources in game it would be awesome. However there are so many other things with higher priority to do\fix..

I`m actually hoping we will have visual signs on the body itself and guess from that rather than just have a text telling about it. Game is still in alpha, its not too late to implement some visual damage too.

There are a few things that should be considered though. First, most people don't have all day to play DayZ. I know I just want to play it with a friend and not waste 20 minutes (if not longer) to meet somewhere in the middle. Not to mention how easily you can die just trying to get to your friend... and then you respawn ever farther. Which leads me to the next point - one of the things that are awesome about DayZ is how "fragile" your character is. So you meet up with your friend, and decide to go somewhere. Along the way a camper with a sniping rifle spots you and kills one, if not both of you (happened to me just 3 days ago). And then you have to meet up again.. They should also take into consideration that bambies are dangerous mostly just to other bambies, so if two people want to spawn together - the game can just spawn them away from other fresh players.

This. There is absolutely no harm in two freshly spawned players spawning together.

I`d rather have a small amount of zombies that are dangerous and hard to kill than "spamming" zombies repeatedly. That works well in L4D2, but its not a great idea for DayZ. What should be fixed is the melee system, its not that zombies are hard to hit, its just that hits aren't registered. -
I`m totally for this idea, customize faces, beards, hairstyles. Sounds awesome

I wasn't following DayZ for ever.. Have the devs ever said anything about implementing gore and more progressive wonds in the future?

Would like to see the mess at and around the wound itself, unlike in ARMA games where if you shoot a body part and the only thing that happens is a texture switch from "clean" to "bloody". -

They should even take it further, more than just a twitch. Lets say you hit someone, but because of adrenaline they dont feel it straight away. So after 15-30 sec`s "wounded" walking animation kicks in. Also if they can make the character "hold" wounded area - even better. -
Hey guys, I`m playing DayZ and I notice all those potato sacks lying around that I could probably put on some poor bastard. I was kind of disappointed I couldnt make a creepy mask out of it. If anyone watched the early Friday The 13th movies, before discovering the hockey mask, Jason walked around in a potato sack with holes for the eyes. The reason I dig DayZ is the freedom it gives to the player. The beauty is that the game itself doesnt encourage or discourage ANYTHING. You can be a good guy or a sadistic psychopath (hell, I`m in the latter in this game) and the only consequences you face come from your decisions (good or bad ones) and the other players.

Terrible idea, if you want boss fights play Dead Rising or something.

I`m all for this, gunshot wounds, cuts, tears in clothes, visible bleeding. I have high hopes the devs will improve the visible damage in DayZ.

Another idea - if anyone here ever played SLX mod for ARMA 2 - you would leave blood trails when wounded until you treat the wound. It wasnt a very progressive feature, basically it would be the same decal spawning under you wherever you go, and how many of these decals would spawn depended on how badly you were wounded. I think it would be awesome to implement something like this into DayZ.

If I think about it further - dismemberment does not has to mean insta-death. It could be a beginning of a count down - lets say you cant bandage a dismembered limb, but maybe you could still fight for 1-2 minutes until you black out and eventually die.

It doesnt has to be something over the top, but I do think bullet wounds, blood stains on the ground (from bleeding and stuff) and some basic gore would be great in DAYZ
