harteman pretty much nailed it. DayZ is probably the best pvp experience I had.

That is the "heart attack feature". It can happen in random places with no reason at all, and it takes seconds to kill you. Even when the "please wait" screen is long, you still appear about 5 secs before you can play. Verified this when playing with a friend. -

Your character isn't standing in the game for 60 seconds, you usually appear a few seconds before you can play. -
Honestly even if they make huge enhancements on the survival side, I won't care. Bought this game for the pvp part, and I`ll keep playing it for pvp. If I'll want to fish or make a campfire, I'll go outside.

I`m not expecting an apple to stop a bullet, but other items can. And if not bring a full stop maybe lower the damage.

Breaking it down to pockets would be a pretty good idea. If you get shot in a pocket that has something that could possibly stop a bullet - it will save your life. While the stuff in the rest of your pockets remains untouched and not insta-ruined.

I don't get the people who say wanting blood and gore is immature\psychotic. Its just the consequence of being shot(or attacked in any other way), just like dropping dead. Sure we don't need something like L4D2, where an M4 shot would blow limbs off and make huge holes in a body. But something more realistic instead is necessary. -
I'm sure that not every male shaved his beard when the outbreak happened :D The way I see it, is why not combine the two? You could spawn with a short beard, and just let it grow if you want.

Just a few points: *ARMA engine CAN handle gore. They had it in VBS. *"Blowing off" limbs on one hit is not very realistic, or a great idea. However if you do multiple hits at roughly the same spot, why not? *If something should be on high priority its wounds (and bleeding) on characters and blood on the environment. Other than having visual feedback on combat it could help determined what caused the death of that poor fella lying in the middle of the street. Its also the third time I'm writing it on this forum, but bleeding characters need to leave blood trails. -
That`s the thing, they didn't die. The zombies aren't dead, they are living people with a REALLY bad virus. Some of them just happened to be serving in the military at the moment of the outbreak. They should have some gear on them that a soldier would have.

The visual injuries need to be improved asap. I'm talking about bullet\stab wounds on the bodies, dismemberment, and some blood on the environment. We need some visual feedback in combat. -

Wrote about it in another thread, but anyways, blood stains wouldn't be hard to implement. We had it in SLX mod for ARMA 2 - you would leave blood trails when wounded until you treat the wound. Basically it would be the same decal spawning under you wherever you go, and how many of these decals would spawn depended on how badly you were wounded. The bloodbag idea sounds awesome.

It does sound pretty awesome, but its so complex I just don't see them doing it right. Right now visual damage model is pretty much non-existent. I would however, be happy if it suddenly became a priority and we'd get the amount of detail you are talking about.

Far Cry 2-3 bullets pulling out shouldn't be an example for DayZ. Got shot in the chest? Just pull the bullet out of the arm. I`d just rather have a general "healing animation" and the wound stay bloody until you change clothes or something.

If they do implement this absolutely terrible feature, I hope they will also implement an "auto release" reaction when held at gunpoint. You know, for realism. Pants get ruined, and you will get messages like "I feel awkward". -
*I don't think KOS`ers don't care about dying. It takes time to get basic gear in DayZ, and you can easily die trying to acquire it. If I'd get a quarter for every time I thought "Great! More rounds for a gun I don't have" I'd probably be able to increase the size of my Steam library quite a bit. *Like I said before, when you choose to KOS, no one said you will have success. There are so many variables, you can't simply put a "75% success rate" on this one, because its just not true. *When you shoot someone you damage\destroy their gear based on where you hit them. Unless you headshot every time, you never get all of their gear. But that's all just getting into the little details. The bottom line is, and I`ll say it once again - you can do whatever you want in DayZ. There are no "teams", no "morals" and once you die - you really die. These are some of the basics in DayZ, and I hope they will never change.

Like I previously said, its not black and white. I don't think you can simply take outcome out of the equation.
