A Total Noob Question: Where Is My Dayz I Paid For?

Gameplay Mechanics Pt1 - The Player

Holy Shit. -
Welcome to DayZ.
-
Do you really feel that PvE is what DayZ is or should be about?
-
People hang out around the coast because there are people at the coast. You can access all the loot from going inland without going inland. Clearly, going inland wasnt made to be a priority with the standalone... given that Balota and the military base above Kamenka have plenty to go around. Or Chernos new features and loot spots... People stay on the coast because this "revised" version of the map allows if not encourages it. My only point is that my method works for anyone too.
-
im glad that works for you.
-
Its all good here. You are correct, too many people do stay on the coast.
-
We are talking about collecting loot, not engaging others... you're going off track. Who you run into doesn't matter if you don't have gear, and that's what we are talking about.
-
We are talking about collecting loot, not engagements with other people. If you use a map, getting lost up North is not a problem. I cant be sure whether i see "real" players at the coast, but i would love to know how these Northern players are so much more "real" than the ones i face down South.
-
Bullshit. I have rarely ever left the coast and i acquire everything there is to get. No reason to waste time going North, its boring and time consuming.

Is less zombies actually more?
jock360x360 (DayZ) replied to o5pr3y (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Understand that when i say realistically, i mean that if i hit you in the head with a fucking shovel, you will be on the floor. Stop looking at the whole picture and saying no realism applies. If a zombie is a decaying corpse, the probability that it could take a hit to the head is low. Yes, its all a fantasy type deal but that doesn't mean common sense cant apply. My point is, DayZ's game play is aiming for realism, i want to make sure it stays that way, and making zombies tough to take out doesnt sound like anything but unnecessary challenge. It should be there because it belongs, not because the game is "too easy". -
USE THE DAYZ DATABASE Learn the spawns, all of them have either a water pump in town or in a neighboring town. Only 2 buildings in small towns currently have loot spawns, a Tan-ish one and the medical building... (find these two through the database) Then run coastline to a bigger city, hit the fair loot buildings until you get on your feet. Head to the high yield loot spawns, Military bases (above Kamenka, Balota, AFs) Or hit up the high yield buildings in Elektro/Cherno even Berezino (big industrials are your friends. (Mosin/Shotgun/FireAxe) spawns. You need to do your research. Learn what buildings spawn what, make a route for each spawn location. The loot conditions are rough but not impossible. PM me if you want specific buildings/strategies.

jock360x360 (DayZ) replied to o5pr3y (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I don't feel the focus should be on the zombies, i feel the experience of DayZ is other players. Of course, the zombies could use an upgrade in presence and difficulty, but to the point where they are #1 threat? I don't know about everyone else, but i have always loved to have that fear that a sniper has me in his scope. I enjoy wrecking zombies because they really shouldn't be tough to take down. One hit to the head and they would be dead or on the ground.... or is that too sensible? Maybe I am thinking of this too realistically .... -

It definitely creates a certain level of difficulty when you cannot pin a location on a shooter, even more so when it sounds like they are right next to you. I have died a couple times because i heard "close shots" and acted upon them. What really gets me, is the desync connection lost in major cities. I will either catch up and be dead or be forced to change servers which also results in death... lol the other day, i desynced when running on a hill. Was forced to re-log. I came in on a steep part of the hill, as i came in i slid all the way down, slid off a rock into the air and fell to my death... It doesnt matter what happens to me in DayZ, lol ill always come back. -

Something is very wrong with DayZ
jock360x360 (DayZ) replied to Publik's topic in General Discussion
It really sucks that this is true, I enjoy playing in 3rd person. But as stated, people on regular servers use 3rd person as an advantage in combat. I would love coming across more friendly players. DayZ is DayZ i suppose... thankfully we all know what to do now if people arnt so friendly. -
True, also, use the dayz database map. Set it to only look for buildings with high yield. Guarantee you will start finding things. It will be difficult at times because everyone hits these buildings, but its been the only way for me to live. Hope this helps you KillerB89.
