I experienced this earlier. Me and a buddy got shot at Balota airfield. My friend went down but I hid behind a building to the right of the first prison. Killed one guy but there was at least another, maybe two. We were in a bit of a standoff until I peaked round a corner and shot another guy. Two seconds later I get the 'you have been kicked from the server'. I log back in and I'm a fresh spawn on the coast. I could have lagged out and they luckily pushed up and killed me. Or they kicked me, then ran up to my body knowing I wasn't there and killed me. The latter seems much more likely. I reported the server but without proof there's nothing they can do :(

There are some directly behind the police station in Svetlojarsk.And I think there also some directly to the side of the supermarket in Stary Sobor.

Before I continue, I know the game is in alpha. And I still love it! Last night I was killed and broke my legs twice. Not by players but by the game. The first came after me and a buddy logged in at Svetlojarsk. I went into one of the piano rooms and walked upstairs before going to get a drink. On my return my guy had a broken leg. Luckily my buddy had sticks so crafted a splint and I was fine. We ran up to the town inbetween Svetlo and the airfield before the server restarted. Upon our return to the server, we both got the 'You Are Dead' black screen. I spawned in Elektro and looted a few things before once again, as I was walking down the street, my guy broke his leg. It appeared to happen after I had got the yellow link. I've never had this amount of bad luck in such a short amount of time. My question is, is it the server? It always appears to be lowly populated despite it having a low ping. Have others experienced the same and avoiding it do you think?

So we went bandit for the first time and some poor French guy had a rather dark ten minutes or so! (Yes we felt terrible afterwards!)

Yup, there needs to be some kind of fix for this. I can't stand hardcore so at the moment the game is unplayable for me. Broke my leg and crawled into the sea to drown myself. Get 'you are dead' screen but can't respawn. When I exit and join a new server, I spawn deep in the water and instantly die. This is ridiculous.

Thank you but in all fairness, I'm not going to wait days to be able to play again... Looks like I'll have to opt into experimental and hope my character gets reset or something.

So last night a 'friend' thought it would be funny to shoot me in the leg. Needless to say it was broken. I logged off and wanted to play this morning. With nobody around and no zombies, I tried to drown myself. The 'You Are Dead' screen came up but I can't respawn. I've changed servers but cant get out of the water quickly enough to stop myself dying. Rinse and repeat. What the hell can I do?!

Since the last patch (not today's hot fix), I seem to be getting black flashes every now and again. It seems to happen more when the server is changing from day to night and it is very annoying. It only flashes for a millisecond but it's off putting. Could this be down to one of my graphical options? I haven't changed anything since the patch. Thanks for any help.

Noob question but how do you overclock your CPU? Thanks.

I know the forum is full of stories but tonight made me realize why this game is superior to all others. Me and a friend logged in at Stary Sobor and being fully geared for a while, we decided to check out the busier south coast towns. We made the trip down to Balota airfield but it had been completely looted. We admitted defeat and attempted to leave before we saw a guy pop out by the barracks (we were over the other side of the airstrip by the ATC). We moved to cover and so did the other guy. There was a stand off for about five minutes before we decided to leg it out of there towards Cherno. Unsurprisingly Cherno was devoid of human life so we moved on to Elektro. We approached from sniper hill and surveyed the area from the back of the supermarket. We saw two guys running towards the fire station so retreated towards the hill but unfortunately I was shot and killed. As the two guys attempted to loot my body, my buddy showed his face and the perpetrators made off. I was extremely lucky and got an Elektro spawn which allowed me to take back my M4 and backpack although the contents were all ruined. After a period of silence, we headed for the cafe style building with the three upstairs rooms to the right of the school. While in there we were under fire from a sniper for about 15 minutes. We couldn't spot him and we were in cover. Unfortunately a guy with an axe came up the stairs and before we could make contact, began to swing at my friend. We had to sit him down. We escaped the building as the sniper began to shoot at another guy who had ran into the church. Now we were behind a building to the left of the school and saw an armed guy approaching a building next to us. He noticed us, sprinted in and then sprinted out. He didn't seem like a threat so we let him go. My buddy went up the small hill to see this guy had stopped and was aiming towards me. My buddy opened fire but the guy escaped towards Kamyshovo. We headed for the same town after a brief wait and met a new spawn who we advised not to enter Elektro. Did he listen? Nope! We enter a quiet Kamyshovo and I attempt to go into the tree line to log out as I was heading off. Before I could, an armed guy went into the trees and I was stuck behind the train station. He saw me, aimed but me and my friend took him out. As my friend looted him, he got killed from behind further up the hill, partly down to my lack of cover. I then had my sight on the guy looting my buddy and pressed fire.... only to be greeted with a click! I immediately went to reload as a bambi spotted me and proceeded to swing a punch. I panicked and ran away from him back towards Elektro. I entered the trees and went up the hill before spotting the guy who killed my buddy. I shot him several times (has the M4 been nerfed?) and broke his legs. I ran at him and finished him off with my axe. At this stage I was shaking and my heart beating so loud, I could hear the thump. No other game has evoked such responses from me. I ran further up the hill to log out as my buddy admitted defeat in getting a Kamyshovo spawn. Yes, I have rambled on but it was such a fantastic few hours of gameplay that showed exactly why this game is so good. Long live DayZ!

A n00b question about Hardcore servers: I would love to play in first person but when I play hardcore, the screen seems to sway when running and it makes me feel sick. However, when watching streams, it seems fine like when you are running in third person. Is there something I can turn off so that it doesn't sway so much in first person? Thanks!

I seriously doubt it was a bullet. I was crouched so I'm pretty sure I wasn't visible unless the wall glitched or something. Also, my buddy logged back in very shortly after and didn't see anyone - very bizarre. I may file a bug report, just wanted to see if anybody else had experienced something similar.

Before I start, I know it's alpha and I'm still loving it but an incident earlier really annoyed me. Me and a buddy made our way to the Balota airstrip and went into the first prison building. My buddy checked upstairs while I scouted the ground floor. Unfortunately he lagged out upstairs so I climbed the stairs and sat at the top of them, waiting for him to return when suddenly I die. There was no gun shot sound and nobody in the building. I wasn't even moving and was crouched so I have literally no idea how I died. Was this just some sort of unfortunate bug? Or was it a hack of some sort? Can admins 'kill' players? As I said, still loving the game and managed to gear up pretty quickly but was extremely strange and a time waster!

No proper graphics card but from what I can tell it seems decent. Just found this on a website about it: Thus, the HD 4600 not only matches some dedicated GPUs such as the GeForce GT 620M/630M, but also competes with the fastest integrated AMD GPUs like the Radeon HD 8650G. Anybody else able to say with any confidence whether I'll be able to play (again, very low graphical settings is fine as long as it runs without noticeable lag). Thanks.
