We need a way to discourage kill on sight but it also isn't fair to force someone to play a style they don't want to. So we need bonuses and modifiers that are fair on both sides of the fence. What I just thought of only caters to the "social" player. In the goal of making this an immersive experience, regardless of nutrition, hydration or gear set ..people in general tend to break down quicker without social contact. I think it would be cool to add a modifier that affects "healthy" status by say ..making you more anxious and burn more calories at rest or rather all the time ... because you are lonely, afraid ,paranoid etc and havent spent time around other players. The longer you are away from other people you eventually cap some type of insanity modifier, this encourages you to hoard more than normal players and go through more food and items which of course ..entices you to kill more people on sight for their loot. But most new spawns will succumb to this so this would be cool. if you really want to play with others, you will find food more filling, water lasts longer ... when you are doing "social" things. being a lone wolf who kills players on sight will eventually result in your having an "annoying" but not unplayable level of hunger and thirst. but things like a simple camp fire, a tent OR music ...could allow you to sustain yourself and "restore" some of your social sanity. Whereas players who choose to interact with other players, being around other living players also serves the same goal. Just an idea ... Along with hunger and thirst ..adding a third dynamic of "Mood" to overall health , (with interacting with others being the strongest reward ..but with plenty of other options for the anti social player also ...) would make things a lot more interesting. You could even scale it with player intent AND character via actions. the more a player kills other players, the less benefit he gains "mood wise" from being with other players but he can still choose solitary activies such as ...being around a fireplace or in a structure he has built. These will restore his mood. you kill too much, and you stop gaining any benefit from being around players. Since it adjusts to fit your characters play style. But a person who chooses to work with others will always gain an advantage in mood regen since social characters will have higher moods as long as they are together, regardless of place or time.

I have t and / bound to direct communication ... Both bring up direct communication ..and my messages always display in the corner But no one else can read them, And I also cant get any messages from other people.

Im using default Keymaps but with T bound as extra since it is more muscle memory for me. and Im playing standalone. T brings up direct communication bar. I type, "Hi" I then see "Photonic: Hi" on my screen ..but no one else seems to be able to read it.

Ive been googling and reading over OLD posts dated a year ago. No one can READ what I type, And I cant read shit from anyone else ..I just met a dude ..well ran into ..coming down from a firehouse tower in the North East airfield. I panicked and fired a shot ...he fired two ...but I just ran my ass off hoping he would see the advantage I just gave him and not shoot ...I hit T and was like "WHOA WHOA ...DID NOT MEAN TO OPEN FIRE .." "DONT FUCKING AIM AT ME" I was ducking behind the door opening ... We danced and did some F1 and crouch and "lean" dancing and I resorted to dropping some items to express my emotions that I was "happy" to see another player ..and I hoped I could help him ..I looted this place for 1.5 hours with this dude ...watching his back ..without any communication what soever ... I have no idea who he is ..what his name is ..or where he is from! He could not read my chat ...I couldnt read his ..even if he was trying I dont know ... On MANY occasions I was just like T "dude ..if you can read this just crouch a few times" Why is this still a problem? it has been since I paid for this thing ... I know it is still Alpha ..and I guess voice chat works ok for some people but even if I had a Mic ... it wouldnt have helped CLEARLY since I cannot even read someone elses texts. I have spent all my waking hours optimizing my inventory, 500 rounds of 5.56 ammo, ammo cases and 5 standard mags at ready. 3 pistol mags at ready ... first aid kits ... eating what food I cna find ..storing as little food as possible ...packing spare pistols and mags into Protector cases to give to new players ... I really got butt hurt last month when a hacker stole my entire inventory somehow and killed me with my own rifle ... I was HELPING people ... but since day 1 I have NEVER BEEN ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH ANYONE???? I have NO IDEA who I have helped ..and NO one will remember me! What Can I do ??!!!! it says "direct communciation" when I hit T or / ...I type ...no one responds ...no one indicates they can understand ...and I have YET to read a single message from ANYONE ..ever

THIS JUST HAPPENED TO ME. Omg! So it is a hack then!

Ive been running around Berezino helping new players. healed broken legs here and there, I keep numerous FNX's and ammo in cases to give to unarmed players..bandages ..canteens etc. Anyway so I felt really shitty when I walk up into room in the top floor of a building, pick up a box of .45 ammo ..start going down the stairs and ..my M4 puts itself away ... I hit the button on the hot bar ..no go ..wait ..,my hot bar is all white! its not even on my back! wait ..my pack is gone too! my 35 slot mountain pack! and my jacket!!!! my m4, my ammo box full of ammo, my vest! my last FNX45 with mag! 600 ROUNDS OF AMMO all of these I spawned with, they just DISSAPEARED once I started to make my way down the steps! I log out, log back in ...Then some guy with an M4 kills me .. Could he just have been stuck in a wall and looted me while I was standing still? can you loot living players? But there was no one around it seemed at all when all my stuff dissapeared! Is this a known hack or something? Really pissed ...everything ive gotten over the last 3 days is gone :(

Find water, energy level is less important. you have a virtual stomach and I like this. As in real life, your body can only process so many nutrients at a time .This is how the game is setup. Even if you eat whole pizza, you will not absorb that whole pizza. get my drift? you will shit most of it out. I am a new player as of 5 days ago. I have no problems getting healthy status. 1: find water, drink until player is STUFFED ... 2: find food ...Eat w/e food you can find ... 3: sip water whenever you find it 4: keep eating food .. 5: above all else, alternate these things and KEEP YOUR STOMACH STUFFED.... you will stay healthy for QUITE a while ... your energy and water levels cannot max out on ONE stomach full (as in real life) you need to eat and drink regularly and CYCLE food/drink through your stomach to keep those nutrients going into your body ... I never thought "healthy" was a problem to get ..you just need to understand how the stomach works. A full stomach does not = full stats. that is the point. It is just the most you can digest at that time .... you need to keep your stomach full of water and food so your "body" can stock pile it into energy/water, ,your body can hold a lot more than the stomach ..you just have to keep eating and drinking and avoid exertion, Dont sprint unless in combat or unless you have containers of water or food. I just jog or walk everywhere I go unless I anticipate contact ..I only use sprint to evade ..or to move from cover to cover ...or in a hot zone or when approaching an area of high probability of contact. If you are sprinting to travel, you totally miss the point of the system ..and probably dont train much IRL yourself and you are wasting a lot of water/energy As it stands I find the current system highly immersive and realistic.
