    no more alphas for me

And so bloody what if the AI takes a year or two to get right? I'm ok with that, provided that it is working properly when the game goes RTM. I fully expect for them to be tweaking the AI and pathing right up until the end of Beta and probably into the first few retail patches. In the meantime, play the goddamn game and try to help the devs by clearly and concisely repporting bugs you run into with the zombies (aka Alpha testing. Which is, after all, why you bought the Alpha, right?). This is the only constructive way to accomplish what you would so very much like to see. OP crying about how he is taking his marbles and tapping out of alpha testing is useless, not to mention nobody here gives a shit. Also, I find it quite funny how people who obviously have no background in CompSci or AI development, want to get on their soapbox about the timeframe in which the AI should be complete and polished. I would urge those individuals to try and code a simple AI and see how long it takes you to get it right. Then, in your mind, scale that effort up in complexity for a massive game like DayZ. Then, kindly stfu.

    every server is dark

I suspect quite a few people would complain about breaking immersion if the day/night cycle was no longer real time. However, I find it interesting that there seems to be a shortage of people crying about immersion/realism when it comes to your character starving to death two hours after his or her last meal... I too prefer realism but it doesn't appear that it works both ways. It seems to me that the current paradigm holds that if it's a perk (daytime, guns, etc) we need to preserve realism and not make things too easy but when its a drawback (dying of hunger or thirst the same day youv'e eaten and consumed water), well that's just part of the DayZ experience. Maybe it's the fervent libertarian in me but I think that if we are going for utmost realism with DayZ, it should be that way across the board. Meaning I should be able to survive for approximately two weeks without food and a few days without water. That, or we need to be ok with occasionally sacrificing realism and immersion when practicality takes precedence. Just a thought. Also, just for the record, I prefer night play.

    Does this annoy anyone else?

To be fair, the guy basically came in asking why the game was acting strange and not working as it should. This would be the correct answer, in it's most concise form.
