I'm against any kind of moral judgement of the actions of the players, specially in a game that takes place in an enviroment of anarchy, morality shouldn't be something to take into account, every player is a monster that tries to survive other monsters, it's the survival of the fittest in all its glory, it doesn't matter if what you do is 'right' or 'wrong', it only matters if you survive or not. No one should have advantages or disadvantages based on the morality of their actions (which is different for everyone), in my opinion one of the goals of this game and an ultimate success, would be making players to do things that they don't want to do. Players that kills on sight makes sense in this game, you shouldn't care about anyone else but yourself, your friends are not going to be there for long.

[Be nice] How do you torture people in days?
JonEllisDee replied to HeroAtDay BanditAtNight's topic in General Discussion
Personally I don't torture people, I play as lone wolf and if I have to kill someone I prefer to do it quickly and get the hell out of there. I think that 'propa torture' needs of a group to be fun, what's the point of me finding someone, restrain him/her and perform a rectal exploration with a zuchini if there's no one but the victim to share a laugh? Also, I think that some peeps are taking the issue too far, you can't do Guantanamo shit on DayZ, we call torture to force feed a rotten fruit, making someone drink desinfectant, break someones leg and make the call for Z's dinner, it is a role play thing and personally I don't have any problem with it, it adds a lot to the game in terms of immersion, in my opinion it is just another stress factor and this is a 'survival horror' game. Also, anyone that have played Skyrim have done worse things, any daedric quest is good example. -

Same here, I thought it was zombies 'cause I haven't crossed anyone trying to kill me (strangely) but after being hitted by a Z till bleeding, my toon can't attack anymore, the LMB stops working for anything, including guns. -

Same here, I have .45 from a FNX45 magazine, I have a couple of AKM magazines but haven't seen the weapon itself. I found an AK101 but left it behind 'cause of the ammo. Right now I have no weapon 'cause I'm having problems with the controls configuration, while walking in the forrest at the north of Cherno, I pressed the RMB and my character stopped, threw his weapon away (G), only could watch it fly and disappear under the floor xD -

Man you're living in the clouds, the example is bullshit, the software company that you mention doesn't develop videogames, can you understand that developing medical software and videogames are very different things? Also, I'm quite sure that the company that you work for, pays a little bit more than 23,99 € for their medical software, do you know how fucking big is the bill of proffesional software? Are you fucking aware that you are comparing a 23,99 € piece of entertainment with professional software that cost thousands of euros? You're the one ridiculing himself, you're the one who is full of bullshit, now go back to your fucking cave before dawn. -

Welcome to the world of gaming development, I'll tell you what, first your comparison is plain stupid, games are not designed to save lifes or killing people, we are not taking that kind of risks by playing games, maybe you could die of a heart attack if you're playing in a middle of a gunfight high on energy drinks and colombia's finest, but that's it, generally speaking, games tends not to kill people nor saving their lifes, games are entertainment. Second, we give a damn about what the 5th best middle sized ranking company in your country does, it is absolutely irrelevant. Third, go play Battlefield 4, a game released on October 2013 and that piece of crap is yet to be fixed 'cause it was released a year before it should, here we are testing before launch, way before launch, when this development is finished, it is going to be one of the better tested ones in history of videogames, they have 2 millions of angry motherfuckers ready to jump at the devs throat with every single fail. If you can't deal with how things are done, stop whinning like an old woman and go play something else. -
Best advice I could give is... play ArmA 3.

I've changed the controls as recommended by the devs and the game is not saving this changes properly, the changes works for some minutes and then reverts back to the previous configuration that I had. It's also happening with Texture Quality option for me. If anyone else is experiencing this, please make a comment in the following issue report... http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=14423 Also, is anyone else experiencing performance improvements? I'm getting solid rock 60 in the woods and in Zelenegorsk, where I used to have 20s, now I'm getting 30s. I'm on my way to Cherno to measure the FPS there, then I'll move to Novo. -

I made my way from Polana to Zelenegorsk and I've found loot, not plenty, sometimes only at places where it started to spawn recently and people don't know about it, but passed Stary I had no trouble with food, Vyshnoye was unlooted, went west to Green Mountain and it was raided but found Zelenegorsk pretty untouched... -
This is something that will be fixed when they implement DX10/11 and be able to render HDR night time, it will closer to how nights looks in ArmA 3.

Stuck in a room that I am unable to get out of..t
JonEllisDee replied to TracksuitHitman (DayZ)'s topic in Troubleshooting
Try going prone and vaulting close to the walls of the room, hopefully you'll find a sweet spot that you can go through, fall off the building and die. -
Multiple Problems With DayZ With Lag
JonEllisDee replied to TrentonxKiller's topic in Troubleshooting
It doesn't but you can force it to use ArmA 3 compatibilities bits via Nvidia Inspector. -
Your edited images looks far more pleasant to me, I'm a sucker for that kind of ARs, I also like your edits your sky looks quite better. I usually try to do all of this via shaders avoiding any edit when it's possible, if not PS is always a good friend This is my setup for Dear Esther, wish I could make something like this with DayZ https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8121/8693040213_0df2130d6d_o.png https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8278/8699632408_c47b9cd326_o.png
