It should be just around the corner. Rocket's mentioned the options for fires and fire places when he mentions rain and the weather, which are basically working on the experimental build already. Should be soon. -

I think Rocket wants the doors to be physics based, so you can just walk into them and they would open.

Here's one I came up with.

Oh of course! but what if the more random dispersion rate we have today is the base floor of the system they plan on for later. This gives them a chance to test and tweak to find a starting level of dispersion/ recoil for a universal base line. The foundation for the system to come that allows for progression.

I've been wondering about this... It could be possible that certain aspects of gun play have been loosened up in such a way as to facilitate a passive skill/exp system? The more people you shoot, the easier it becomes to shoot... until you get killed, and then you start from zero again. Rocket alluded to something like it with the medical system on Sacriel's stream.

Have you tried raising your weapon, then pointing it down towards the ground, then (alt) looking over the ledge?

Maintenance every Wednesday. About 2 1/2hrs today according to the tweet. This one is just a hotfix for a Memory leak that popped up last weeks updates. It may also have something for the stuck in loading, or death loop bug, also from last weeks updates, not sure about that though.

Why aren't there 'fat' characters in DayZ?

It seems to me that in the scenario that DayZ presents... you would be at an extreme disadvantage in almost every category needed to survive, and therefore wouldn't. -
Alpha is trying to mash all your ideas on to the base code and seeing what works, what doesn't and how far you can push your engine. Then they freeze the code, meaning no new major additions or subtractions (hopefully) at this point. Beta is for getting all those ideas/ mechanics and assets to play well together and as smoothly as possible (overall optimization) before finalizing for retail shipment.

No proof provided... none, nada, zip... in two threads on the subject. Just assumptions and speculation.... FYI your playing a video game... not actually roaming the Earth, so I doubt they accounted for the curvature when they designed the map... why waste the time? -
Pretty thorough test! Thanks for taking the time. It does seem to clear up some of the questions why a fresh spawn with no gear could bog and CTD also.

There will be tweaks coming to how damage affects gear. It's currently modeled after Arma 3 and there is some secondary damage being spread to other boxes which can lead to gear being damaged in the wrong areas. Getting shot in the leg may damage gear on your chest for example.

You may want to go for the higher texture settings, this should get the engine to offload some of the work from the CPU to the GPU. It's kind of a backwards engine that way... push the graphics harder and you may see better frame rates. Have you done the .cfg tweaks? I5 750 gtx660sc 16g ddr3 -
Would a salute gesture do this by default?

I've seen people break their legs IRL from a fall way less than 5m/15 ft ish... That's a much better system than snapping your leg from less than a meter, like before. I am definitely going to kneecap someone now though!
