As far as I know, Hardcore server means, First Person Shooter only, and regular lets you choose 1st or 3rd person. -

Hi, from what I can tell, just change something in your inventory, then go hide. Log out, then re-log into the server, if you still have your stuff, then that server is connected to the hive. Once you find one, then you can log out and check out different servers, if you log in as a bambi, then that server is not connected to the hive.- 1 reply

Heard what sounded like a bomb and saw smoke

They do indeed blow up with firearms, I used an M4 (almost 100 rounds) into the pumps and watched em blow-up without getting hurt.
