The Community's List of Suggested Weapons for Dayz Standalone (Version: 1.29)

Finally some discussion, keep it up guys! It helps keep the thread alive -
Ideas and real life factors that could make DayZ more realistic (which could prevent shooting on sight in the long run)
alexeistukov replied to carbine781 (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
I don't understand what the problem is with Kill On Sight. I do it sometimes and i frankly don't give a single damn. Its a survival game. What? You expect me to walk up and shake your hand every single time? Or warn you saying "IM IN FEAR FOR MY LIFE, STAY BACK OR ILL SHOOT" every time?, no ill just put you on the ground 85% of the time. The players are supposed to be living the life of their character in this game in their own way without the influence of rules because some people cry about losing all of the hard earned military loot they spent days searching for. I say get the hell over it. The game is supposed to be dark in some aspects. Let people make their own choice. -
The Community's List of Suggested Weapons for Dayz Standalone (Version: 1.29)

Devs are not going to change their minds sadly. We are going to have to live with it until mod support comes out.. -
"To hell with realism in firearms" says the Developers on the count of three. I seriously cannot wait until mod support is added. So many mods are going to contain weapon replacements and maybe even caliber replacements I, for one, give a damn about realism, but it is not worth arguing this philosophy anymore due to the developers already making up their mind and they have support from most of the community. Why not the Semi-Automatic Rifles developed in the closer country of Germany during World War Two Where the hell is the Soviet SVT-40? If the M1 Garand is implemented it will be the gateway to firearms in the U.S. appearing in Chernarus That's my thinking of course.

Treatment of the wound would come after the object Is removed from the body. Or you could leave the object in your body to prevent bleeding out (say an arrow if your thigh and it hits your artery)
-
You are missing my point entirely and its obvious you did not read my response entirely. You just watched the videos. My point is to include these animations, but to make them trigger when a certain area of the body is damaged by a certain force or object. I'm not saying pull your tooth out if you get run over by a vehicle. I'm saying add the realism to the game. Read my example again that I posted originally. Think of it, we could boost the horror element of the game is screaming and panic is added to the character. I mean honestly, how would you respond in real life of you looked down and saw half your right leg split open and blood is gushing out onto the surface you are laying on? Read carefully next time

Oh boy! I can't wait to play Apocalypse Shopping Simulator 2014 - Chernarus Edition!
-
I am all for game gore, don't get me wrong, but i don't want to see it take the path of well... here watch this video of Farcry 2 for example of healing.. (some of them are acceptable and i would love to see a system like this in Dayz, but let it be part of the healing process, not the entire one, but some of these healing animations do not make any sense at all): For example say in Dayz you have some sort of explosion ahead of you and a piece of debris embeds itself in your arm (lets use a sharp stick for example), your character removes the stick using some sort of animation, however, they then must treat the hole left behind by the stick and since it would be a puncture wound, it would begin to bleed a lot (also depends on the area the object hit).
-
We also need to remove the messages that keep popping up for our character Honestly, i feel like i am playing as a 5 year old in the middle of a Apocalypse (I'm hot, I'm cold, I'm Hungry, I'm thirsty, I'm sick... etc)
-
I apologize for removing you as a friend on here, That was a childish thing to do on my part.
-
Time off? I did not report you, don't worry. I will admit to basing off more realism, but i do combine this with the aspect of the community and overall, the De Lisle Carbine is not the best firearm that could be put in the game. Yeah it did receive support from people, but i conducted more research on the firearm and compared to what people said with the information i discovered. Dayz Standalone i thought originally would take the path of realism, however it failed to do so concerning some areas of the game (yeah alpha, blah blah), but still i am expecting to see more of the same thing in the future of the game. When user mods are added, we will be able to shape the game in our own image, for now it will be a constant conversation or bickering among the community in the suggestion section of the forums.
-
I will have a discussion with you later on, you offended me by stating that lie. You think i do it based off my own view? Buddy, i have a god damn life, i can't be on this forums every damn day checking every single page for suggestions. Private Messages work best You want to to know how i decide? I conduct research on the firearm online and in books (that i have in my possession currently) I try to get the word of other community members to see their opinion of it. I try to balance it all out. And you know what, community members still seem pissed partly and there is nothing i can do to help that. You obviously have not gone back through the pages to see the arguments and various discussions that other people have had concerning a certain firearm. I pay attention to those, i try to read them all, even though i may not reply, i am still listening How dare you say that Chaingun. The SUB-2000 was on there because i didn't want to hear anymore complaining about it. I am going to remove it anyways. Think and speak to me before you say some other false piece of information.

Plus if the Devs are wanting to add the .30-06 round to Dayz Standalone, why not look at the Tula TOZ-122 Hunting Carbine? It can be chambered in a variety of calibers, which happens to include the .30-06 round. Hell, it can even fit a scope (This weapon is located on the Community's Weapon Suggestion Thread)
-
I was naming those weapons as examples of what could happen.. how the other community members that really don't think things through may act upon the addition of the M1 Garand. They would begin to demand more weapons based off of their own opinion or care for. They would disregard the realism part of the game relating to the setting. Chernarus is a dirt poor post Soviet province so i doubt most civilians had the ability to even purchase a firearm, let alone a loaf of bread.
-
The SVT-40 makes the most sense to have, leaving the M1 Garand a foreign imported weapon to the Soviet Union and Chernarus and barely any would exist in Chernarus. If they Devs are wanting to add a new round to Dayz, they should look for weapons that fit the area and/or importation of that particular firearm is high/medium. If the M1 Garand is added, then people will want the M1 Thompson. Then the M1 Carbine Then the M1903 Springfield Then, you get it right? Plus, this is a several game set in Eastern Europe, not Western Europe or the United States of America. I just hope to see more firearms from Europe and Eurasia rather than from the U.S.A.

Here is my answer to your reply:

(Unrelated somewhat)I have no idea why we need to rip up clothes in order to bandage ourselves. Why can't we tie a piece of clothing around the injured area without having to rip them into "bandages"? Wouldn't that be logical to do too?
-
The M1 Garand was BARELY to the Soviets. All foreign allied weapons were extremely limited in the Soviet military. Come on guys.. seriously..? Think of realism... you guys are not actually for this are you..? :\

Starting to see a lot of threads pop up basically using the same format. But go ahead I guess. -

If I were to get this thread pinned, then we would also have the clothing thread pinned. I wish they would pin this, but I will try and contact them -
Should be able to tape the handle of Sawn-Off weapons to improve handling and prevent hand injuries (which should be added due to the increased recoil these types of weapons give)
-
Please suggest all weapons on the Community's Weapon Suggestion Thread.
-
The fuck would a M1 Garand be doing in a post Soviet state? The SVT-40 is the weapon we SHOULD have. I just don't know anymore about these weapons. It seems as if they pull a random idea out of their ass each day without looking at what the people have to say. Why don't I just add an Arisaka Type 38 or an M50 Reising to the list? Not a rant, just sharing my opinion.
