  1. Why was this necessary? I'll answer that for you: It wasn't I'd join you OP, but I too am a good-guy. Best of luck!
  2. i like this idea much better. Also perhaps take it a bit further and add in areas where you run the risk of infection. Maybe more dense areas have higher chances etc The original idea would maybe make me feel as i'm playing an arcade game. Like the ones where you have to collect more time pick-ups to keep going. It'd feel contrived, i reckon.

The ability to move dead bodies.

I'd like this, so I could then gather all the dead bodies of bandits outside of Elektro as a warning to all who enter of the bad times they'll be in for should they start any naughtiness

  6. A cautionary tale of the wrongs of KoSing, of when a man, bound by greedy desire and lust for other people's things eventually kills himself in an unfortunate space-time continuum accident.

    Reallly?

So much wrong. Not just with the thread, but this gentleman's entire outlook on life. You want to be treated as a consumer... Really? Shit, son!
  9. A message from the future! It appears our lives are in more danger than we think... Repent, repent!

    CURRENCY IDEA!!

On whose authority do you have that on? I am a fan of player-made currencies. However, heatpacks just aren't cool enough. Should be cigars/cigarettes/alcohol!

    question on auto hide corpse?

It's an exploit. I only tell you how to do this on the good faith that you will not succumb to such wicked ways! However, when you alt+F4 instantly (or thereabouts) upon death, your corpse "auto-hides" as you describe. It is evil, and it is wicked, and I surely hope would you never do such a thing!

    Low Content Posts

Doesn't offend me enough that people make one-liners, that I would feel it'd be necessary to propose a joyous level of pompous elitism to the forums, I can look past them freely enough. Sure, the main announcements of DayZ get clogged up by bullshit, but that's okay. It'd just get clogged up instead by pompous people who find new and fancy ways to say the same thing as the last guy. I like it much more when people just post a different kind of one-liner instead, because occasionally they're funny, and the rest i can just zip past. Lastly, though: "Who died and made you chief?" would be my one liner for this post. Avast, take your arrogance elsewhere! *draws sword*

This Forum is Slowing Down D:

Has been okay for the recent few days, for me, however, I have noticed how slow it was prior to that. How hugely slow D:

    Handling dirty liars?

It's pretty simple, in DayZ YOU STUMBLE ACROSS ANOTHER SURVIVOR You gotta be all up in dey's face like "YO," (at this point you thrust your gun in their face) "YOU FRIENDLY?" you continue. (Wait now for their answer) DEY SEZ 'YES' You be all like "AIGHT." and shoot them square in the noggin' Bitchez b a lyin-type n u ain't got no time for lyin-type bitchez DEY SEZ 'NO' You be all like "AIGHT" and shoot them square in the noggin' "YOU WAS PROBABLY LYING ANYWAYS" You say Don't forget to thank them for their stuff, too. Manners gotta be pervasive, yo. Any G knows dat dey's ain't no time for no manners.

    A nice idea
  17. Are you launching via the ARMA2OA_BETA? Can't remember the exact name of the file, sorry, I'm not at my main pc, but it should look similar to that. You'll find it in the arma 2 operation arrowhead directory.

    Reviving fallen survivors

When you said "revive" I was thinking of a system kind of similar, but one that I kinda despise. the one you outline is actually a really great idea, and by facilitating a game play mechanic that enjoyably rids of instagibbing, without necessarily providing unfair gameplay - I welcome that. The part that sold it for me was where being incapacitated a certain time after "revival" would be a sure death. Means no ultra-super-reviving, back-from-the-dead wierdness. Oh, and ofcourse, certain types of death would be non-revivable. Feels authentic, as Rocket would describe. Just to further discussion a bit, I have a couple of questions: Would you require an item to do this? Or perhaps, if no item was required, what would you think of implementing that item, but instead the use of the item would provide better efficiency to revival. Say, more blood upon revival, or maybe less screen-blur/gun-shake/whatever. Would broken bones be kept, if they had been recieved before incapacitation?
  19. Well, I'm going to go ahead and judge that, seeing, statistically, murders and thievery is not in the 100% figures (or anywhere near that), that this place you come from is unbeknownst to the rest of mankind, or that you are lying. honestly, guy, your nihilism is based on nothing but your own inadequacies that you assume the rest of the world has, and you project it onto the rest of us, so that you might think that your selfishness is actually ok, and natural.
  20. Ah, other games? Other works of fiction? Well, I was just under the impression that when you said "realistic" you were talking about reality, and not just what other games had done. now, as for why I think a very basic trading system would work is because there needs to be fluidity in game play. Fluidity that cannot be messed about by rudimentary UI systems and trading that has sometimes (amusingly) resulted in the accidently point blank shooting of your buddy. You know where you're scrolling to select their backpack, then you go to click the option, the menu fades and you shoot instead xD Or perhaps, you drop an item for your friend to pick up, only the surface isn't totally flat and you lose it to the void forever. Now, when i suggest currency, I'm not talking gold coins and tokens specifically designed to be none other than a currency for people to trade. That's dull. What I'm saying is there need to be items which are useful enough to be used, whether for aesthetic reasons, or maybe they have useful application - but that these items are also abundant enough that people will want to trade them. Ofcourse some guy might not find the given currency all that useful, and might want more of it for the item he is offering. However, he'll also bear in mind that another guy might find this item useful, for which he can trade for something he wants. I find this kind of speculation totally fascinating, and would welcome it into a game that currently facilitates none other than shoot-for-loot
  21. In real life, you would not actually yank it from the other guys hands as your go-to action when it comes to dealing with trade. Please take your nihilism elsewhere, thanks!
  22. What was the last apocalyptic environment you visited? I'm googling it, but i can't find anything about the development of currency in apocalyptic societies at all. Now, all I was saying, is that there need to be items that are abundant, and useful enough to be used a potential currency in the game world. Various items of such, that we could see in different server populations, a different commonly used currency.
  23. I like the idea of having these items, with an alternate use as a currency. Ofcourse, it wouldn't be pushed as a currency, but it would be useful, and abundant enough to used as such. Gee, because that's such a great system. Say, do you see much point in having various vehicles, because i mean, Sedan can do everything any other vehicle can do. What about guns? Why have more than one of each type? the rest is just fluff. Contrary to popular belief, this not actually realistic.
