Maybe you should indeed assemble a posse to get this guy. This is the kind of emerging gameplay that the game thrives on. DON'T BITCH ABOUT IT DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT

A Hacker has ruined my DayZ Experience...
Scerun replied to Chronokiller's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Hacking won't be a problem, atleast not on this scale, when the standalone is out. It comes down to core Arma 2 mechanics being abused that just are simply not designed for use with DayZ play. Sure, DayZ standalone will be using the Arma engine, but they'll be able to modify the actual core of the engine itself to suit DayZ's needs. Which, in my conjecture, should mean that scripting and all the thunderdoming just won't exist in the game at all, and therefore cannot be abused. Hold in there for the standalone, I say -
shit sonnnnnnnnnnnn

I had the same on my 550 GTX. I back dated to the version before 301.42 and my fps was back to the normal, too

28 DayZ Later With the glorious Zombie Apocalypse afoot, our heroes, Andy, Sovlet and Scerun, and now, Jimmy are striving to survive. Zombies aren't the only threat, however - they must compete against other survivors and furthermore, survive the harsh environments of Chernarus, bean-bandits, and occassionally, their own ineptitude. Follow them as they embark on the Awesomest, Greatliest, Grandly End-Times adventure ever did! ____________________ RULES - If all of us die within the same period, then it's season-over. If one of us survives a shoot-out, then the season continues! ____________________ and that's about it. Once we're all dead, the season ends. Each episode aims to be about 15 minutes in length, and we release a new episode every MONDAY and FRIDAY. Slightly longer breaks are between seasons, as we get everything together again. SEASON ONE _______________________________________________ SEASON ONE IS AN ENGIMA FOREVER LOST BENEATH THE SANDS OF TIME ______________________________________________ SEASON TWO _______________________________________________ EPISODE ONE - _______________________________________________ EPISODE TWO - _______________________________________________ EPISODE THREE - POSTPONED - CHECK BACK IN OCTOBER _______________________________________________ Follow this topic to stay updated with each episode as it's released and give us your angle on it all. DON'T FORGET TO LIKE EACH VIDEO AND SUBSCRIBE TO THE NEW YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND THE FACEBOOK PAGE NOTICE THIS NOTICE Hey chaps, I've noticed you've noticed this notice, and would like to notify you of my noticeable appreciation of your notice. WIthout further ado, I'm just leaving this message here to let you know that we recently lost our main Youtube Account, and all the subs with it (3.6k!), which sucks. Furthermore, due to inevitable incompetence on our end, we never backed up Season One, or the Promotional Video (that used to be on the top of this post). So, we have a new Youtube Account in the link above, and a swanky Facebook Page to accompany it. If you'd do us a massive kindness and sub-up and let your friends know that we have moved to a new alias, then we can get the ball rolling again! The Series has been put behind by about a week, but no more. Other than that, everything is the same! Thanks for the support! NOTICE THIS OTHER NOTICE

Okay, so we here at, uh, where we are, have run into a pretty fatal problem with the series. What were prior thought to be overheating issues with my pc were far, far more, and subsequently, it is now 6 feet under. This is saddening. I am saddened. This renders me out of action for atleast the rest of the month. I sit here on a notebook, all sombre, wishing things were less... sombre. Jimmy, Andy and Dean were all prepped to continue filming without me this weekend, but as they logged in, none of them were where they used to be, and almost immediately they got hacked-about for what went on for 2 hours, apparently. Though it was kinda fun, they say. So season two has had an unexpected turn. I haven't lost all the edited episodes, or the footage on my rig, so once I get another, I promise to get all those out there immediately! :D Furthermore, Dean and I are (were) headed to Poland at the start of September to go live with the guys at the Ministry of Win for a month, though, I can't afford it now since I need to save up for another rig! D; Dean will still be headed there for the month, so chances were, the series was going to suspend for that month regardless. I apologise to the many millions and millions of people who're going to be missing out on us for the next month or two. All several million of you, i'm sure will be as sombre as i am right now, here, writing this. Though if i can urge one thing of all you millions (read: MILLIONS) of people, is not to commit suicide in anyform or fashion. En masse, or indenpendantly. That would be a terrible idea, and it could possibly weigh on my conscience. WE SHALL RETURN. AND DATS DE TURTH

Just an update. My computer isn't having much fun with the heat here in London, so I'm going to have to put the episode off until tomorrow. Rendering is being faulty, amongst many other errors due to overheating. WILL HAVE IT UP TOMORROW. PROMISE.

AK v Lee Enfield - Bitter Sweet FAIL lol!
Scerun replied to cleveden8's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Don't see how this is a fail on his end, as he defended himself with whatever he had. If anything at all, it would be a fail on your end - but even then, like you said, the kill message threw you off. Don't see why this needs a mocking video made about it. All the LOLs and !!! are... Well, the guy defended himself with a Lee Enfield, after you opened fire on him; this attracted zombies. You got killed by a Lee Enfiled because the kill message threw you off. I just don't see why this video is made attempting to laugh at that guy. I just don't. EDIT: If anything, that guy deserves props for knowing where you were and getting off a pretty badass shot. -
Sorry about the keyboard, guy! My condolences! I will send flowers!

Astronaut - is affected half as much by gravity Prime Minister - Has no useful abilities. Designed to be a burden to all other players. Matt Lightfoot - All variations of clothing are now the same luminous orange dress. This includes the ghillie. Man at Work - will play over and over on loop, unless one of two conditions are met: A ) You murder another play. This will stop the song for five minutes. Upon death, the song will increase in decibels beyond the point of distortion until you have respawned. Tramp - Ability to collect tin cans in shopping trolleys. I tried to commit but this guy was adamant that I stay alive [video]
Scerun replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
That was perfect. WHAT A GUY -
I'd like to see it entirely removed, to be honest. Should need to see a dead body to know a guy died. Evenutally, when the de-bug monitor is gone entirely, we could see snipers who'll actually need to check the dead body, too! Oh joyous speculation!

Need Morphine+Blood+Friend at Green Mountain
Scerun replied to lttankor7's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Green... Mountain? NUH UH NO WAY PAL YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN -
this is not about realism. you do not play the game for 24hours a day, 7 days a week, all year. The game needs to simulate dehydration/starvation in a way that makes the gameplay challenging. When we all start living inside games, I will agree with you - but until then, I do not.

I'm a massive supporter of this kind of notion. It would create far better gameplay, and killing for a damned good reason, is better than killing beccause you felt like it. Think about it. I always go back to when food and water wasn't spawning due to a bug some few patches ago, as an example of the fun gameplay this would create. I have to say, that bug was when this game was most memorable for me. I teamed up with a total stranger to scavenge for food. We both spent our entire gametime searching for food, whereas normally we would've just sat around shooting people, because that is the biggest reward. Sure, we could've just waited for guys to slip on by and shot them, but, if we were struggling for food and water - why would I be certain that this guy we're going to kill would have food and water enough for TWO people? Why sit around for 45 mins to take that chance, when we could just actively hunt for it via animals/ponds. We got shot at once, but we were so keen to survive that fight, because we'd put a tonne of effort into survivng beyond the first few starvations/dehydrations. Fighting became a struggle, and PKing against us wasn't just griefing, but you know, actual survival. Ofcourse, if we had been killed, the guy would've been disappointed to have wasted his ammo to find no water or food.

Alrighty, OP has been updated with . Let us know what you think!

Listen, if you've never been to Green Mountain before, then I urge you to keep it that way. What Lurks There at Green Mountain has made Green Mountain its home. I shit you not, there is some crazy stuff going on up there. Rocket doesn't even address it, but I think he likes the illusiveness of it all. Sure, when we all first started DayZ - way back when - Green Mountain was great. It had a UAZ spawn there (still does), but there weren't all the corpses, destroyed humvees and that pile of rotting corpses. A few of us on my server have coined the creature that lurks there as "What Lurks There", because no one has seen it. It kills you from out of sight. It's an enigma. There are, however, a few things we've concluded: - It's not a zombie - It's bigger than your average person There are signs to be wary of to: - Thunder, and heavy, heavy rain. The thunder strikes the tip of the radio tower, and in the brief flahses of light you might be able to make out a way to escape. Do this immediately. - The trees will move, it is said. This is to disorientate you. Your GPS or map cannot help you if the landscape is ever changing, right? In light of the last note, I want to add this; What Lurks There feeds on the lost. This is why the trees are said to move, and why the light begins to fade the further into the tree line you go. Darkness is a nightmare if you're trying to find your way, and you can't find landmarks inside the trees if they're always moving. When you become lost, you fall right into its clasp. Though, even if you do escape - that isn't the end. There's a brand it places on you. Your soul. When circumstances permit, it will claim you life for defiling its sanctum. Wherever you are, it'll be sure to collect your dues aka. your life. Some chaps on my server say the crows are the sign of the brand, yet I'm not so sure. I've had a few crows follow me, but I'm still here. Just don't go there, bro.

How about making server hosts SIGN a written agreement?
Scerun replied to Lady Kyrah's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Only problem is, EULAs and the like aren't worth the paper they're written on. Furthermore, I don't see why you'd want to create a hostile legal environment for server hosts. While i sympathise with the players who're getting banned by bad admins, I would rather see that the many more good servers are given an easy time doing their thing. Doesn't matter if it's signed or not anyways. If a server breaks the rules too much - then it's gone. No paper work will make these guys behave better, they already know they're being assholes
