M9A1 Combat Knife: The new fireaxe

Not true, I've seen zombies require 3 headshots to kill with a fireaxe from the front.

Faster way to get military geared up?

Stop caring about gear is the best solution: get an SKS or Mosin, get a few rounds of ammo, should be easy enough to find that around town and then PLAY THE GAME, if you survive long enough, you'll get nicer gear as you go along anyway, there's no reason to turn DayZ into a mad dash for "full gear".

    1fps in towns

DayZ is 32bit, RAM is not his problem despite 4gb being kind of light by modern standards.

Mosin-Nagant more rare to find now?

No gun is rare to find.

    KoSer's Karma

It's a placeholder, presumably till we can drag bodies away and hide them in a bush or toss them in the ocean.

    KoSer's Karma

I dislike people who corpse run. If I wipe out a group like above I'll always try to hide them or failing that cover the bodies till they despawn naturally to prevent anyone looting them. If you die, gear up properly! Don't go expecting your old gear to still be sitting there when you run back to it.

    KoSer's Karma

It's not really hard to do. These two guys had identical gear, with the exception of the missing TTSKO body on the one furthest way, which was dropped on the ground floor of the building this screenshot was taken in due to being ruined. They even had identical conditioned accessories on their M4's and Mosins. They took a few LRS mosin shots at me when I attempted to scope out solnichniy from above the quarry, they missed entirely and then lost track of me: I made my way around and onto the coast side of the town from the north, then snuck in and taught them a lesson in awareness. It's pretty easy to tell that these two had duped gear, it's also easy to tell that they're KoS types who play DayZ like it's call of duty, then dupe some fresh gear off a friend/clan member's character when they die.

    LAG

Happens in the mod too, shot some guy with a 1866, right in the head and he had time to run behind cover before dropping, in fact as far as I'm aware it happens in ARMA2, hopefully they fix it before full release but I don't think we can exactly call it an alpha issue if it's effecting other RV games too.
  9. 409 hours here. Impressed you haven't burned out before now grimey. As for the cheaters, I think it's more about spoiling the fun of others, rather than doing something enjoyable themselves.

    experimental servers

Currently no Experimental servers are showing up for me, are they down or am I having issues client side?

DayZ Community is what is REALLY destroying the game

Go to NWAF on a 40 pop full server and it's empty and unlooted: because everyones in berezino deathmatching and that's a very long run. Go to NWAF on a server with 1/2 people on it and it's picked clean, because they're targeting high value areas on a low population server to gear up fast. There's no reason anyone needs to gear up on a low population server, really. Not like stuff is hard to get, anyway.

DayZ Community is what is REALLY destroying the game

"Stronger" zombies won't function well because of latency issues, all we'll end up with is frustrating zombies that take forever to kill. The best solution is volume and scarcity: 1 zed in DayZ is most likely never going to pose a serious threat but it should be quite possible for a player or even a team of players to get overrun by zeds if they're not careful, their threat should come from numbers in my opinion. Those killing for the sake of "ha, back to the coast you go" or death matching in Berezino rather than out of necessity will be put off by rarity of weapons and ammo, so long as the damn duping and ammo/magazine hacking gets fixed. Ammo in DayZ should feel like a lifeline, the thing standing between you and a brutal death, be that at the hands of players or zombies, rather than what it is currently: either functionally or literally infinite.

DayZ Community is what is REALLY destroying the game

There are huge problems with the player base, but you missed them entirely: Hacking, glitching and general FoV/Gamma abuse, along with 3pp abuse are all signs of it, there are some real arseholes playing this game who simply cannot handle a fair fight. PvP however is and always will be part of DayZ, it always will be... what we need to do is encourage the PROPER types of PvP, such as robbing & murder over gear and resources and such rather than having 1 death match city where people only go to play "CoD with zombies" and then the rest of the map being completely empty. If you cannot handle the constant threat of being robbed or murdered over a tin of beans, you're playing the wrong game unfortunately, just as much as the kids who come here to death match and who have no concern for the survival of their character are playing the wrong game. Hopefully as firearms, ammo and general loot gets rarer, zombies get fixed and more common and *I really hope* the hacked ammo and duping issues get fixed the death match brigade will leave for pastures brown & bloomer, since spending one of your 2 remaining SKS rounds to kill the guy you just spotted in Electro may very well cost you big in the long run after 20 zombies swam into the area attracted by the gunshot and you only have one remaining bullet between you and death, you better be damn sure the guy you're stalking has the gear you need to survive.
  14. Sometimes I'll find a revolver before finding a rifle, however it's pretty rare. Normally I have an SKS or Mosin long before I find myself a pistol and magazine. Now, if we're counting the sawn-off as a sidearm.. I've taken to keeping one of them on me just for dealing with zombies when I feel safe shooting them and arming friendlies who've spawned fresh, since the ammo is so common and rarely used that even in the most stripped out 100 man server you'll still find a stack of two lay around and the guns themselves are rarely picked up, one DayZ I plan to fill my backpack with them and build an army of shotgun wielding newspawns.

    I need help (Graphics Card)

I run the game on an overclocked 955BE and r9 270, so CPU wise I'm slightly faster too, however not by a huge amount. I highly recommend the MSI Gaming r9 270, it's more than enough to drive DayZ at 1080p and it's the quietest card I've ever owned, slotting one into your current system would provide a big boost to DayZ's framerates however cities will still be kind of iffy, but then they are for everyone. If for whatever reason you prefer Nvidia, loot at the 750TI.

Why wont people play in the night ?

How I wish I could play on a full rotation server, running around with my FNX and pistol flashlight when required without being instantly slaughtered by people abusing gamma: Sadly, until something changes I can't, since the only way not to be an easy target at night is to exploit the gamma slider yourself and join the night vision brigade. ;) It's strange, I've not seen a single carrot in DayZ and yet everyone can see perfectly in the dark! I think my grandmother lied to me.

This patch is littertly game breaking.

I thought your wife died in season 3. Anyway, the wait timers are excessive, yeah and if they did it to combat server hoppers and ghosters, they wouldn't have removed the reload sound on log-in. Not quite sure what they'd hope to achieve with all this.

This patch is littertly game breaking.

I've had two pairs of pants ruined my zombies today, both in ONE hit. Not quiet sure why the zeds are so interested in my junk, but still... I feel your pain, there's a lot of stuff that really needs fixing come from this latest update, hopefully it'll happen soon.
  19. TheScruffyBandit

Both die at the same time?

Then it's shoddy netcode, either way it's due for an overhaul.
  20. like 2 weeks of a couple of hours each day, but was boring as hell and in the end I welcomed death.
  21. TheScruffyBandit

    Can I run it?

"Performanced rated at 4GHz" makes me chuckle. Besides that, I know someone who plays on something similar, he gets down to 10fps a fair bit in cities. Depends what your expectations are, really... technically I think it'll run, but I wouldn't call it a good gameplay experience.
  22. TheScruffyBandit

Would you want foldable clothing in DayZ?

I can't even be bothered to fold my clothes in real life, you really think I'm going to simulate doing it on a video game? :D
  23. TheScruffyBandit

    Wow those house campers.

You don't get fed up when people are camping and abusing the wall glitch? It's nothing to do with lawlessness (I'm the banditiest player you're likely to meet) and everything to do with people *cheating*.
  24. TheScruffyBandit

    im a noob sniper...

Low pop, plink zombies till you're confident.
  25. TheScruffyBandit

    DayZ going to be 64-bit

No 32bit cpus meet the minimum system requirements anyway.
