Not cheating makes me a worse player? Ha, the shit you people come out with. -
Arma3 Third person fix mod...thoughts?
TheScruffyBandit replied to OrLoK's topic in General Discussion
It is, you choosing not to admit it doesn't change that fact. 3pping your camera above walls to get a better view of an area that would otherwise be outside of your field of view is no less of an exploit than leaning into walls to see through them. Both are abusing the flawed view system to gain information that you would normally not be able to. -
Arma3 Third person fix mod...thoughts?
TheScruffyBandit replied to OrLoK's topic in General Discussion
It's been explained before, but new players will always take the path of least resistance, if one game mode offers them the ability to see round corners and over walls without taking a risk and sticking their head out, the vast majority will take that free advantage. If there was a third hive that made all the player spawn with full gear, the majority of the player base would be on that, they're just going for the easiest option. Why take a risk popping your head out of a window to look for players when you can just 3pp abuse and never expose yourself to potential incoming fire? Same goes for new servers, no server admin wants their expensively hosted server sitting almost empty, they're going to go for the game mode with the most players. It's only natural. It's already obvious that, while 3pp has players on it, there are far fewer populated servers.. and often people who would prefer to play 1pp are forced to play 3pp simply because the need for player interaction in this game is greater than the desire to play on a hive less open to exploitation. Ultimately, 1pp is the *best* solution, but so long as 3pp exists, it's going to be a niche market. It's also worth considering that, there might be players who want to play 3pp but don't like the exploitation, this patch would give them the option to play 3pp without resorting to the same broken game mechanics that they would have to exploit currently, or find themselves at a disadvantage to everyone else. Finally, from a fair play point of view: why *should* such an obvious exploit be left unaddressed in 3pp just because 1pp exists? What possible reason would there be for the devs to continue letting 3pp players see players outside their characters field of view, are we to assume that characters on the 3pp hive have ex-ray vision? Even if everyone is taking advantage of it currently, that doesn't make it any less of a broken mechanic in need of fixing. -

You sure jumped on the quickly, didn't you? :D As for it having nothing to do with the thread, sure it does. OP is advertising himself doing it by posting the video, of course someone is going to comment on it. -

You're honestly telling me you can't see why abusing Camera angles and leaning into walls to peak through them is unsportsmanlike and is no different than cheating? It's nothing to do with being elitist and everything to do with this kind of behaviour being unacceptable. I don't see how any rational person could disagree with that, unless of course they'd decided that making pointless one word posts and acting like someone on a "care in the community" order was amusing. As for a my first post being "troll like", I don't see how. The OP should, if he has any moral fiber what-so-ever be ashamed of himself for glitching to gain an advantage, of course I'm sure he doesn't care, but that doesn't mean I'll ignore this type of behaviour when I see it. -

Well then, since your argument is so solid and you state your case in such an eloquent fashion.... I guess I'll have to ask, could I have a word with your parent or community care worker? -

What, you're not even going to try and defend him? If the best response you have is "derp" I don't think it's worth posting in the first place, buddy. -
EDITED: Are you happy with CURRENT zombie implementation?
TheScruffyBandit replied to Grimey Rick's topic in General Discussion
I don't care how hard they make them either tbh. I'd prefer headshots being required to kill zombies for example, atleast without wasting a ton of ammo. However I'd still like the respawning fixed, along with the ghosting and wallhacks the zombies have currently. -
An impossible kill, where was he? Hacks or Exploiter?
TheScruffyBandit replied to thelonewarrior's topic in Gallery
It's still possible, but now it takes more fiddling around, I won't explain exactly how because I don't want to teach people how to cheat, but it involves removing the building files after battle eye has checked for them. I came across a how to online awhile back after something similar to OPs video happened to me and a friend at NWAF, which i couldn't explain any other way but cheaters. For what it's worth OP, I do think you encountered a cheater. Better luck next time. -
Putting aside for a moment that Facebook is literally Satan and will ruin Oculus entirely, I very much doubt we'll ever have a stable 75 to 90 fps in DayZ, at least not with currently available hardware.

considering the wall leaning and 3pp abuse, you may as well have been. -
Arma3 Third person fix mod...thoughts?
TheScruffyBandit replied to OrLoK's topic in General Discussion
This is why things that can be abused like wall leaning and 3pp need to be fixed. The playerbase will ALWAYS abuse them, hell they're filming themselves being scumbags and they're not even ashamed of it, this is a pretty extreme example but every twitch I see of dayZ is FULL of 3pp abuse. If the 3pp abusers and wall leaners quit over it, all the better frankly. -

TheScruffyBandit replied to Grimey Rick's topic in General Discussion
Regardless of how the Grimey plays the game, The current implementation is bad and needs fixing, It's as big of a pain in the ass for people playing the game as a proper survival/SHtF simulator as it is for the Cherno deathmatch brigades. -

TheScruffyBandit replied to Grimey Rick's topic in General Discussion
The ones who didn't read the question then? Got it. Nobody asked about future implementations, If it's a placeholder has nothing to do with the question that OP asked. In case you didn't take the time to read it, the question was simply; "Are you satisfied with the CURRENT implementation of zombies?" Your post implies you're not satisfied with it, but you're holding out for something better. Perhaps you got confused? I mean, it's complicated, there are two possible answers after all. Nobody is judging you. -

Arma3 Third person fix mod...thoughts?
TheScruffyBandit replied to OrLoK's topic in General Discussion
I called it didn't I? The only thing this mod does is stop most of the abuse of 3pp, nothing else... and the 3pp players still try to avoid it. The only thing that the average 3pp player cares about is having an unfair and game breaking advantage to see through walls, it's unrealistic, it's abuse of a mechanic and it's CHEATING, any reasonable person can see that and yet they'll still try and argue their weak to nonexistent case. It goes to show why people are using 3pp and it's evidently got nothing do to with wanting to see their characters, it's all about the abuse, or this mod wouldn't effect them in the slightest. Frankly a long term solution to 3pp can't come soon enough, if we're lucky it could even purge a large part of the undesirable elements from the playerbase. -
Clothing that doesn't stand out in treelines. A long weapon, preferably with some kind of optics. A sidearm. Enough AMMO to engage targets without danger of running low in a moderate engagement. Some food and water.

Playing solo as in being without a group is fine. Playing solo as in being the only sod on the server, not so much. -
Arma3 Third person fix mod...thoughts?
TheScruffyBandit replied to OrLoK's topic in General Discussion
Playing solo isn't fun. Unfortunately new players will take the path of least resistance and new servers will be set up to cater for the most popular game mode, since server owners don't want empty or half populated servers. The only long term solutions are to balance 3pp so it no longer offers an unfair advantage or remove 3pp entirely. -
Does Dayz Standalone have the worst zombies in any game ?
TheScruffyBandit replied to gibonez's topic in General Discussion
4 months and they've only managed to make zombies worse. Right now they're janky, suicidal, super humans with x-ray vision, super speed, ESP, the ability to phase shift through solids and instantly reincarnate while maintaining their memory. Amusingly though, they're still not even remotely a threat. The funniest thing though, is that some people in this playerbase STILL try to defend the current implementation. I guess we just need fanboy hard enough and they'll start working as intended, right? also: I like your signature. I wish more people realized that criticism is both cathartic and outright REQUIRED in an alpha/beta test, Blind acceptance will only make the finished product worse. -
Arma3 Third person fix mod...thoughts?
TheScruffyBandit replied to OrLoK's topic in General Discussion
Don't want to lose your exray specs? :D See, it's funny to us because this mod removes the main illegitimate reason for using 3pp, leaving you with the view but no major tactical advantages and you lot are still complaining, really does prove that the only thing 3pp care about is the ability to abuse the mechanic. So... I think we're safe to discount the opinions of 3pp players from now on, right? Since this poster is pretty indicative the standard of their contribution to this discussion.
