I grow weary of the "Update treasure hunts" for what they've implemented...lol. I guess it's just me, but I would prefer to actually be told what they have adjusted so I can liberally experiment and test each one individually. But nope.
-
Sooo...I don't mean to rip on anyone here...but how hard is it to simply change the model, and adjust the stats of the shotgun when sawed off, and keep the number of projectiles the same? I mean...how did this get screwed up down the line? Some of these bugs and glitches just baffle me. But then again I am not a coder, so feel free to flame me.

I'll have to disagree with you on that, Max. Most successful business have shareholders and people with a stake in the company, and they have to provide reports on what the company is doing, how profits are, management has to give progress reports, etc. I mean don't get me wrong I'm not saying that they're the same thing, but I think the general concept can apply here. This -IS- a business, and don't anyone try to tell me it isn't. To some degree I do believe that they have an obligation to their supporters to make sure they are getting accurate updates on the progress of the product that they themselves paid for and helped to support. I mean what investor gives money to a project and then says "Okay here's all my money, let me know when it's done". Nobody smart. Now I really don't think that having someone take 20 minutes (if even that) or so twice a week to post some quick vid blog, or dedicated news source (enough of all this reddit/twitter/etc bs. IMHO i think they need to nail it down to one dedicated news source) to keep the community up to date on what the team has been working on is too much to ask as a supporter of this game, as I'm sure you are all as well. And I couldn't give two craps if the stuff they are working on is boring or not, I would like to know what's going on so I can continue to support this game, give feedback in a timely fashion on what's being developed, and keep my love affair with this game kindled. Just my viewpoint on the whole thing.
-
Is this a serious question? I mean...I really am not trying to sound like a dick...I know I can't be the only one thinking this.
-
But I mean we're talking like a short update on progress...shouldn't whoever is in charge of managing the whole shabang know what's going on with the development? What is so wildly time-consuming about making the occasional update about what the team has been working on...I just really don't get it.
-
I'm sorry but I really don't understand why it's so difficult to do some kind of weekly or twice a week quick update on what you're doing and how progress is going? I guess making your fanbase go out and SEARCH for what they're doing is one way of keeping them in the loop about what's going on in development... Idk, just seems like a completely lazy and unorthodox way of going about the development, but that's just my opinion

Vehicles and physics! How would you like to see them integrated?
DeatHTaX replied to omgwtfbbq (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I was simply saying it was more likely lol... -
So one of my biggest pet peeves is being on a server where the admin will reset it at random. Especially if you happen to encounter the admin by chance and get the drop on him, as he will simply reset the server to avoid being ganked. So not only for this reason, but also for convenience, I think it would be a nice feature to program forced restarts by the admin to take a certain amount of time, followed by a message from the client that announces server-wide the restart. For example Administrator prompted restart has been triggered. This server will reset in (x) minutes. Not only does this allow the players to be ready for the restart, but it also prevents to a certain degree admin abuse during combat, as well as gives you an indication if a server's admin is being abusive, giving you the knowledge that they either are exploiting the server restart for the aforementioned combat-logging, or to loot farm. Idk, just an idea I thought of. I don't think the devs would go for it, but what do you guys think

I'm all for exploding gas stations as its 100% more likely than an exploding car -
Is all of this based on your vast experience with worlds gone crap? I mean I don't mean to sound like a dick, but I think it's hilarious when people try to tell me "Well in an apocalypse, this and this and this"....I'm sorry how many of these have we lived through? lol xD I mean wouldn't it make sense that in a world "gone crap" everyone would want their hands on a gun? Thus making them more common? Just a thought... ANYWAY

Were plans to expand the map canceled?
DeatHTaX replied to stielhandgranate's topic in General Discussion
Meh...i'll have to disagree with you on technicality. If they're referring to expansion, I don't see how adding a town or city is really "expanding" the map. Comes across as a bit ambiguous. -
another cheater bites the dust. Sorry kid

Did a search, didn't see it. Link?

Shrub for president, 2016! -
Hmm I do understand what you're saying, but I will respectively disagree. Well money in the right hands, if well managed, and spent effectively, can definitely increase efficiency and production of a product. However, I must admit, my opinion is lacking the interior knowledge of the workings on the dev team and how they allot their time and finances
-
Sounds like australia's problem :D
-
Well on one hand I do agree with you, Katana. But I am inclined to understand where he's coming from. On one hand you can't spend too much of that money on the game because then your profit margin is out the window...but what really ARE they doing with the money to maximize production and efficiency on the project? I think it would be a cool concept if the devs shared their expenditures with the community. Not that I think something like that should be mandatory, but would just be really interesting to see

No one takes RP or Talk before shot serioust enough!

I'm curious as to how many servers that break this rule are dealt with in any way, and how many are reported. -
Haha, I know, I'm just jonin on ya Gibz :P

Sounds like a suggestion from someone who gets sniped a lot :P

In a survival game with severely limited resources, WTF...
DeatHTaX replied to tootights (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
The melee in DayZ reminds me of the old 2D Runescape combat lol -
DayZ Paramedic jackets: When you realize it's not a paramedic and they're not there to help, it's too late

I don't even mind the walking so much as I would just enjoy the challenge of assembling a vehicle. Just adds more content and gameplay dynamics
