    So...after 8 months...

    So I take it no one else has been rocket-manned across the map yet? lol Truth. However, I consider this a pretty serious issue. I mean I figured that with the overhaul (if you can call it that) to movement, etc. and fixing issues with random leg breakings, they would have addressed this as well. But I guess there are more things that are important than falling from 5 - 10 feet in the air and dying. :/

    Things I immediately noticed about today's release...

    Yeah the new scope sway is ridiculously obscene. Even with a bipod laying prone, with the AKM at 500+ yards it's almost impossible to hit a STATIONARY ZOMBIE because your character seems to need to do this stupid figure-8 with his gun. Needs to be addressed IMO

    Is the update as bad as everyone says?

    The point of playing a game is alpha is not "Getting used" to the controls. It's providing feedback on the patch so that we may improve the game for future patches, whether that be negative or positive. We make it seem "way worse than it is" because we have opinions on how we feel about the updates, and a lot of people really don't like it. Some people do, but most of them aren't telling the people who don't like it to "get used to it" for the most part. And that's awesome if they like it. I'm not sure HOW they do, but they do, so good for them. But please, don't tell me it's about "getting used" to something, because what's the point? As soon as I'm used to it, it's probably going to be changed in the next patch. *smh* So far from what i've seen in the community and talked with a lot of my DayZ friends, the overall consensus from what - i - have seen is that the new movement is not favorable.

    actually most responsible gun owners here have gunboxes or safes for their firearms, or store them responsible in gun cabinets etc. however, there are those who are always trying to allow themselves to become victims of Darwinism

    First Balancing pass on firearms

    Now they've changed pistol accuracy for the better? or worse. Because there were times before this build I would try to shoot at a zombie 15 meters in front of me with the revolver and would miss horrifically, with absolutely no sway, no broken limbs, no nothing.

    Dynamic Loot Spawning

    I heard from a couple of people that there are zones that detect player inactivity to replace loot for example If quadrant/zone [x] = vacant for [y time] then loot [blahblahblah] I feel like this is one of the only ways to do respawning loot, and it has to be reliant upon some sort of player detection. Because if it isn't, and is simply based on a timer for vacant loot spawns, then someone could simply do an entire lap through somewhere like berezino or cherno and then start all over once the loot starts to respawn
  12. The only reason they really call it "regular vs. HC" is simply because it is an accepted and understood concept of the difference between the two game types at this point. I'm sure in the future there will actually be radically distinguishing aspects of both, but for now, it's just called Hardcore. Like i've said before...what would you rather them call the two modes? Because "First Person Mode" and "Third Person Mode" sound soooooo awesome lol....

    I will agree with the pistol mag complaint. The majority of firearms are purchased for home or personal defense, and I don't know anyone who buys a weapon for personal defense and leaves the mag out. I think pistols should have a set percentage change to spawn with an empty mag in them AT THE LEAST because let's be honest, it is a bit ridiculous that ALL of the pistols spawn without them. Heck, maybe even throw in a variable for pistols to spawn with SOME rounds in them.

    Have they moved the .22 spawns to more civilia areas since the patch? I havent payed enough to notice this. That was tbe main issue with those weapons. Making them milspawns made them utterly useless.

    Okay guys we all get it. Our characters have infinite stamina. It does not negate or confirm the discussion on weapon-up for either side. Im sure this will change in the future...so stop using it as some kind of rebuttal. Seriously. Not being able to jog up a hill or steps (most of the time) i believe is still an issue, though. Hopefully they will address it in some fashion. I still think the weapon up movement previously was just a fine pace. I think if in the future they allow the same movement speed pre-patch and over time you slow down, thats fine. But as it is currently, i am really not a fan. I wouldn't call it game-breaking, but its definitely adding even more of a cumbersome feeling to an already clunky movement system imo.

    Hmm...that is indeed interesting. I know there have been issues in the past with bodies being under trees and you being unable to loot them, but from what it sounds like the bodies were in perfectly reasonable positions for looting. I'll have to find someone and axe them in the face to test this theory lol

    another perfect example of you missing the point completely and deflecting a reasonable discussion with the topic at hand. Thats cool that you have your opinion, but other people have opinions as well that differ from yours. So why not try to engage someone in a thought provoking conversation about the topic at hand rather than throwing your hands up in the air because someone doesn't think the way you do. Some of us would rather give feedback on things rather than just simply "getting used to it" like you do. That's cool that you don't give two shits about the conversation, but there are people who do care. So there's the door if you can't contribute something constructive.

I mean thats the thing, I enjoy a challenge too....but this kind of challenge has nothing to do with my skill so much as it has to do with just tedious mechanics making it harder than it should be to kill a couple zombies, and the glitches surrounding all of it, including the even CLUNKIER movement just creates an asbolutely dreadful experience for me -.-

    While the OP definitely has an eccentric way of explaining his frustration with the mechanics, I completely agree with him on the new readied-weapon movement. It is and was absolutely too slow IMO. I do not really understand the reasoning behind changing it, but it has definitely affected combat for me in both regular, AND hardcore. I mean I think it would have been nice if they gave you an option to toggle between weapon-up speeds, but reducing it that way has dramatically altered combat, and makes it all that much less dynamic and exciting. Not to mention the issues with holstering and pulling out your weapons (STILL having issues with this) makes this decision to alter the movement speed even more baffling. I mean if I guess I HAD to see some logic in this, I guess they want it in such a way that makes you have to choose between putting your weapon down to move faster or keeping it up to have the first shot advantage, but in a system where the mechanics and controls are currently so cumbersome, I don't understand adding even MORE mechanical doodads to the system... still trying to wrap my head around this...

  23. I'm not really sure if I understand why they made it HARDER to kill incredibly glitchy zombies... I mean its almost like they're trying to make up for the lack of them and how ineffective they are as part of the game by simply making them harder to kill, which I think will lead to a lot of frustration down the road. And I don't mean harder to kill in the good challenging way, but harder to kill because the mechanics in place MAKE it difficult Just my opinion

    Cmon let's not kid ourselves, now caboose. This game won't really be what it's meant to be til' it's done. In the meantime, it's pretty much just short of an "army soldier game". I mean how many people run to "army soldier" military bases and loot up to wear "army soldier" gear and run around with "army soldier" weapons shooting at other "army soldier" players? I would venture to say 60 - 70% of server pops :P Although, OP, I will say you're asking for some things that the community majority definitely does not want in the game :/ so good luck with your uphill battle lol edit: so I couldn't help but notice Rick's substantive yet slightly ranty thread was almost immediately reported and closed, yet you guys are letting this nonsensical drivel run on to three pages? absolutely ridiculous.
