    The DayZ endgame

Meh idk...i think that the main argument is that endgame pvp will still be the most engaging thing in the game for the majority. I mean there's a reason that there are guns in this game and it isnt a giant version of "DayZ friends game" where everyone high-fives each other, shares saline bags, and do extreme farming and fishing. Its just not engaging as the player element that comes from pvp and the tension surrounding potential player encounters

What items would you kill someone for? An MP5K?

I'll kill a man in a fair fight. Or if i think he's gonna start one. Or if he has a nice hat. Actually....i'll pretty much kill anyone for no reason sometimes

    The DayZ endgame

Uuuuh what does that have to do with what i just said... Nothing? Okay. I just think the idea of running around in this game by yourself looting and whacking zombies with axes, farming and whatever would literally be the most boring thing you could do in this game

    The DayZ endgame

PvE servers for endgame in DayZ are the stupidest thing I have ever heard of, IMO.

    Adding dynamism to gunfights

The core of this erupted I think from the discussion of combat and the importance of a fluid motion in regards to pvp. However, Inception is right, as it has gone a bit off-topic. My apologies, urrbudy edit: oops double quote
  7. is it possible that the tent crashed the server? I mean...if we're going on past experience with new items in new patches..... just sayin xD

    Adding dynamism to gunfights

Cool. That's awesome for you. And I mean absolutely no sarcasm in that statement. But like any product, it is usually tailored to the majority. I will stand firm in my statement that the majority of the community, and by community I mean if you asked every single person who owns this game, that they find player interaction and pvp the most engaging and exciting element in this game, in the current product, and i think even MORE so in the finished product. Are you even capable of logical discourse? Please troll...just go to bed.

    Adding dynamism to gunfights

How much of the community will find farming, making campfires, fishing, tying knots in rope, and other survival activities more engaging and exciting game play than player interaction and PvP in the future. I know it hurts for you when people use logic in their arguments and bring up statements based on deductive reasoning. Please try not to be so condescending, although it seems to be your one big trick when finding yourself in a discussion/debate with people who have contrary beliefs to yours. So I will ask you politely again. if you don't have anything to contribute to the discussion, please just keep your little one-line "insults" to yourself, and let the grown ups talk.

    Hacker or weird glitch?

Getting killed with the MP5 is like getting killed with the fish in TF2
  11. I, too, find it quite annoying when I am trying to unconscious-ize someone and I get there and they're dead, even though sometimes I know for a fact they were UC. quite annoying. I'm interested to see if the realism people get in on this discussion xD

    Adding dynamism to gunfights

Obviously you haven't been reading my posts very carefully or you would see that I often cite "player interaction and pvp". They are not the same thing in my context. and please...don't EVEN try to lump me into the child bickering fest that has been going on in this thread. I have conducted my responses with nothing but genuine engagement in the discussion, albeit with a tad of snark on occasion. So CLEARLY you're not even reading my posts at all. And I'm sorry...I forgot that I'm not allowed to approach my point of view with absolutes, because I see certain things as factual and inherent. If you have a problem with that, I suggest you conduct a logical, well versed argument to the contrary that persuades me other wise. Until then, the absolutes I believe are just that - absolutes. I'm sorry but I can't help it if that bothers you.

    Adding dynamism to gunfights

If I go play Halo and run around pretending I'm a dog, or handing out ammo, or whatever, it does not change the fact that halo is a PvP FPS. Anyone can play the way they want to play. I play many different ways in DayZ. However, that doesn't change the fact that PvP and player interaction will be the most prevalent element, and most exciting of the game, now and when it's done. Now I am speaking for the majority of the community, if I may. Why else would they put a bunch of guns in the game and give you military gear? I'm sure there are the few people who will get their immense satisfaction from making fires and farming or whatever else they want to do, but I think I'm safe to speak for the majority of the community when I say that DayZ is and will be a game focused heavily on the player element, and survival and zombies will take a back seat.

    The paramedic Challenge

Unarmed hero squad in a game full of murderers, sadists, and thieves.... A.K.A. the "How many times can I respawn in one day" challenge lol xD
  15. DeatHTaX

Am i insane or ''the'' DayZ player.

I thought this waa going to be a post about how you think youre the only dayz player in the world...because i have seen maybe 3 people in about a week lol

    Adding dynamism to gunfights

Koala, even wben the game is out of beta and done...its still going to be a game focused on player interaction with zombie and survival elements, from what i can conceive from the developers. I mean seriously what else is there to do once you have all your gear, all your loot, base/fort/w.e? Go out and interact with other players. And the truth is the vast majority of that interactio will be pvp, because thats the most exciting, dangerous, and enjoyable (until this patch) aspect of the game for the majority of the community. Its just an awesome adrenaline rush. Im sorry that you are under the impression that this game is going to be some kind of bear grylls survivor game where you eat bark, get water from pig sh$&, and fashion alaborate headpieces out of leaves. It just wont be. You'll have to accept that fact. I mean it'll have some awesome survival elements in the future, i hope, but pvp and player interaction will trump it all.

    Adding dynamism to gunfights

You don't always need realism to create depth. Yknow what creates depth? Having a movement system that actually meshes well with the game and is responsive. And you sure sound like a realism cuz realism based on your complaint about the "aim up" movement. Seriously the "Have you ever tried this in RL!? SO unrealistic" argument is growing very tiresome...This is not real life...it is a game...and there are certain rules you have to bend to create a willing suspension of disbelief, and to make everything work within its OWN world that it creates, NOT ours. That why when I play skyrim I'm not saying "Omg thur is no wai in RL I could should that dude and he go flying NEEDS REALISM" because those are elements that exist within the Skyrim universe, and it all meshes well to a cohesive and fluid gaming experience. Never once do I sit there and say to myself "wow there's no way I would shoot someone with a bow and kill them instantly". See what I'm saying? There was absolutely nothing "depth breaking" about the previous patch aim-up movement. The previous patch aim up movement was just fine. It helps to keep combat situations flowing and dynamic, and allows you more control of your character. The more they slow down the character and just add to the cumbersome feeling of the movement mechanics, the more boring combat gets for me. I'm not saying I want to be sprinting around noscoping kids and crap like that, but please....stop making the movement system even MORE bogged down with all of these ridiculous changes.
  18. Personally I think in the next patch they need to make food, ammo, and loot in general WAAAAY more scarce. And also increase loot respawn times (not like it'll matter. servers will just stay on a 2 hour restart or some retarded shit like that) I think this will force more people to utilize the survival elements that have been implemented into the game. Not only would this help maximize the survival aspect of the game, it will also increase the amount of people using the crafting systems, fishing, chopping, etc, which will increase the chances of finding potential bugs with all of those things and getting them reported. Can't find the bug if no one is really using the newer features. But of course, 80% of the community will simply cry because they can't get their phat loots and pvp with their guns that they have 200 rounds for after only looting and scavenging for an hour

My question is instead of asking him "where", why didnt he ask him "why are you such a liar?" lol

    Adding dynamism to gunfights

Why is it that everyone immediately assumes that when people like us ask for a smoothed out movement system, it is assumed we immediately want this to be turned into some twitch arcade shooter-style mechanics, or some example like the one highlighted above is listed... I dont want that either. All I ask is that.. 1. The controls are responsive and fluid, and feel very natural 2. It doesn't feel like my player is dragging a stack of tires behind him in combat situation that's about it. I don't want to be able to vault off walls or do a bunch of ninja-crap or to run around in combat at lightning speeds. Nothing like that. Just these 2 things. We have neither of those things in the current build, and at this rate, based on how much everyone LOVES this new movement system, probably won't ever happen You "Realism" junkies are going to kill this game...

Fracture and Dead on actual Stable

Boy at this rate in a few patches we'll all be rolling and crawling to get to where we wanna go lol xD
  22. DeatHTaX

    Adding dynamism to gunfights

Sorry. We probably are going to be forever plagued without any fluid movement system forever because too many people in the community are in favor of this cumbersome, slow, clunky UI and movement because it's "more realistic" or whatever their reasoning is -.-

    This is just unplayable now

...really...random sounds is the #1 issue with the game? Out of EVERYTHING else wrong with the game you think random sounds is #1.... More important than... Zombies clipping through walls Graphical inconsistencies with buildings Wall peeking Hacking Item Duping Fall Damage Gun balancing Clunky Movement system And so on... Now I'm all for people having their own opinions and everything...but it is absolutely foolish for you to say that random noises are the #1 issue

    This is just unplayable now

Meh it never really bothered me that much, but that's just me. What DOES bother me is falling from a chair and dying. THAT is a serious annoyance for me. I mean I actually kind of got used to the random sounds lol. It also helps when you learn how to quote lol And what? Am I not allowed to bring forth a valid point in regards to this subject? Go home, troll
