    On the Coast
  1. I just bought this game. I have heard about it for a long time and bought it because I want to support the makers, and hope that it eventually hits beta, then a full release. I do not have the time to devout to the game that some people do, watching videos to learn the game and such. So, I do have some total new questions. Can you kill a zombie without a weapon? Like, can you just punch a zombie to death? Second, I did one time manage to find a hammer and I couldn't really hit a zombie with it, was that more of a lag / video issue, or do hammers not kill zombies? Third. At one point I did manage to get a fire extinguisher and kill a zombie with it. I tried to kill a second one a little while later, but to no avail. Are there zombies with different health and what not? Fourth and last for this thread. Can I heal other people with rags? A quick shoutout to the only person I met ingame who understood that I was brand spanking new and didnt just kill me, instead gave me a few tips. I was following you to the first city I would see... then I was disconnected.. But I did take your advice and rip my shirt into rags every time I respawn. Also.. to the people who snipe at others with clearly no items... really? I get the idea of banditry.. I won't do it... but kill people who have nothing at all, that is not banditry, that is just pure griefing.

    Question about unconsciousness and death

As a total nub. Can I bandage other people who are unconscious? Will it bring them back up or would it just waste a bandage?

WHY ARE YOU KILLING PEOPLE FOR NO REASON? -.-"

I just had to laugh a little when I read the "I have lots of items part". I have just started playing, probably have about 1 hour of total time played and that includes like 20 minutes of figuring out my flash light. I spawn.. start running, get sniped. Congrats to the person who managed to kill me. I am sure it was tough to kill and unarmed, brand new player. At least I made you waste some ammo running in odd patterns.

    An incredibly new players perspective.

Unfortunately, the game will not grow to become a massive hit outside of alpha if it does not appeal to casual gamers. Sorry, such is life. People will not buy a game that is basically one giant grief. There are a lot of hardcore gamers who will continue to buy this game, but it will be bought by them while in alpha/beta, and noone else when it is released if there is nothing for new gamers. I am learning, yes, but as I said, I would never recommend this game to anyone. And as they say, a happy costumer tells 2 people an unhappy customer tells 10. If they want to only make this game for a very small group of people, so be it. That does not make the game a success. It would be wise to play to both crowds, hardcore and casual. Sorry if it makes you butthurt to think casual gamers would want to enjoy a game that you play. Saying no to any type of tutorial is just a stupid business decision, and I am sure it will be included in later additions prior to a full release.

Yeah, it was great, till I walked into a random building and some dude laying on the floor kills me in one shot. The idea of trying to learn a game while playing with people who know the game in and out, is a terrible idea for a pvp game.
  6. I am sure it has been said before but.. I have been playing games for many many years. I do not consider myself a hardcore gamer though. I bought the game because I like the idea and wanted to help support the people making it. That being said, I have some griefs right off the bat. I do like the hyper realism to a certain extent. But there is nothing at all in any way shape of form that I found for new players to learn the game. Perhaps this is because it is only in alpha stages and most people playing would be more or less hardcore gamers. There needs to be a way to learn the game. This is a business after all, and the only way to keep any game going is buy building a customer base. I would never recommend this game to a single friend because it is too frustrating to play without any previous knowledge of the game. The very first time I started, it was night and I had no idea of how to do anything. Who wants to play like that? It is not fun. I couldn't see or do anything and I was killed 5 minutes in. By what? I still have no idea, a zombie or another player, who knows. I would love to see this game grow and become a massive hit. But as an investor, I wouldn't put a dime into it just yet. They need to try and grab new people, but the game is clearly not meant for new people, not yet at least. I really hope future updates take brand new players into account. Rant over.
