no luck, thanks for your help. I will start over

so I did that, and now in the inital loadout screen it shows my original character. However once i join any game, i starts me off with a brand new character.

im getting the same issue as you. I think i tried to login while they were doing server maintenance. I tired to copy the data from the <steamname>.vars file to the new <computername>.vars file but whenever I reload the game, it overrites the .vars file. Did you do anything differently?
