    I played the DayZ mod for a while back when it first came out. I decided to purchase the game last night. I built up my character pretty well in just a few hours (full camo clothing, 35 slot backpack, M4 w/RIS, tools, etc). I log in today and everything is gone and there seems to have been an update. Even my keybindings and settings were reset. Yay. I understand it's an alpha and these types of things sometimes need to be done. My suggestion is to have some kind of news/splash screen explaining when things like this (character/settings reset) are going to be done. I would have spent less time building up my character yesterday and more time actually playing if I had known that everything was going to be removed.
