Mosin + Prone position + Bipod deployed + Hold breath -> strong jitter after some recent patch

Can confirm, this is how a broken arm looks like. Take some morphine, problem solved. -
Dying is as much a part of this game as looting beans(also to glitches, same chances for everyone). When I lost my first character I was fucking mad, all these sweet items, all the time I've put into it. After a while you start looking forward to being a naked freshspawn at the beach again because you have nothing to fear. Nobody will shoot you for your gear, nobody will betray you, no more playing cautious and hiding in bushes, and if somebody shoots you, you won't lose much. So if I die, no matter how many long range scopes I was stacking in my yellow containers, I most of the time am happy about it. Not so happy about the lost battle I fought before but about the new story that I'm going to experience, the interactions I'm going to make and the pants I'm going to shit when I start haveing my first gear again. In your case, you either should start all over again and lose a few more characters before you might realize what this game is about or move along and find a different game. Because of games like WoW and stuff people are stuck too much on "grinding up" and "having nice gear". Dayz is not about that. You can kill a week old character with one hit from your axe or one punch to the temple. Like many said before, don't become to attached to your gear. Most of the times it just takes less than 30 minutes to get back on track after you freshspawned.

We've noticed this problem too. For some reason most of the times it's me who hears the shot, and my mates are like "nope didn't hear anything" I for myself figured since I have a 7.1 headset and they've just got filthy stereo ones that it might be that. Did anybody with a similar situation notice this too?

Good to know, Thanks!

The game crashes really frequently at the moment, it seems to be caused when walking through certain areas. What's really annoying about it, that you get the stupid spawntimer every single time the game crashes. Sometimes I'm just able to run for 20 seconds then it crashes again and back I am at waiting for 5 minutes. Rework the anti hop system. It's crap.

This is not true. Friend got shot while logging off, we saw him bleeding. We killed the guy, and after our friend relogged he was still bleeding and I bandaged him personally. :-)

A workaround that worked for me when I'm stuck in walls or under buildings was to run in turbo mode against the wall. If you just keep running you will eventually glitch through the wall. This also works with all kinds of fences, walls and generally everything that blocks your way.

Yes, person named weedmasta from the internet, please give me advice on my relationship. I also do freelance work from my homeoffice. If a client calls I can't be like, oh just hang in a second, I'm playing this game and they have implemented this feature where I would have to run and find a safespot, so would you mind hanging on for a minute or two. The current system is better than not having logoff protection at all, agree. But I'm not willing to fear for my ingame life after I quit the game.

I can't wait for more crafting recipes. I already love the crafted backpack, it perfectly matches my low profile sniper gear and is a fun item to craft whenever I respawn. I can only imagine what they're working on, but the throwing system, craftable explosives (out of rare household chemicals) and molotov cocktails that you can throw in those nasty fire station camper buildings.

So I share a appartment with my girlfriend. That means not all of my free time is controlled by me. If I'm fucking raiding Elektro with my guys and she comes along with one of her super important needs or whatever, I want/have to logg off asap, not tell her to just hang in for 10 minutes till I'm in the middle of the forest to log of. The design of the current system is flawed, a game should never be dictating you how long you have to play it. Let's all still keep in mind that it's a newly implemented feature though and the devs will definitely take a look at it again when they have the time to do so.

There might be a connection between the despawning of the body and the player disconnecting, I noticed it when I got shot, my buddys came to retrieve some stuff, and as soon as i disconnected or reconnected (not exactly sure) my corpse was gone.

or is it just me, i killed several people today and every one of them despawned after maybe 30 seconds leaving me little to no time to check on their filty bandit loot.

I think the system now is kinda clumsy. The approach WoW takes is way better imho. If you exit the game, you get a popup with a xx sec countdown and you are unable to move. After the countdown has expired you log off and your character dissappears from the server. If you are in a hurry you can cancel the countdown and exit right away, but your character will stand in place for the remaining countdown and is able to get killed. The current solution seems like a quick workaround to me. It also seems that after logging in you wouldnt spawn in the exact location you loggged off, but a location you visited like a minute before. That is a terrible bug and needs to be addressed asap. So ,no beans from me for the approach they chose, let's hope it's a temporary workaround until theyve figured out something smarter, like the WoW loggoff system.

Relogging also binds the gun to your character.

Did something just happen to the character servers?

Can confirm this.
